James Wisniewski had a couple of blocked shots late in the game Friday to preserve a 2-1 Anaheim win.

Those were the only two blocked shots of the game for the veteran who was dealt from Columbus at the deadline. The Ducks have been struggling of late and they needed Wisniewski to give up his body for the win. "We talked about it," fellow blueliner Francois Beauchemin said. "We needed to sacrifice our body blocking shots. Wisniewski made two big blocked shots at the end of the third there and that's how you've got to win games. And especially at the end and in the playoffs, winning the board battles, the one-on-one battles and make sure you come out with the puck from the corners, and stuff like that. Those are details of the game you need to do if you want to be a championship team."
Mar 14 - 7:41 AM

James Wisniewski's equipment has arrived in time for him to suit up Monday night in Vancouver.

Now that his foot is fully healed and his equipment has arrived before the game, Wisniewski is good to go to make his Ducks debut Monday night. He offers a lot of offensive upside for fantasy owners now that he plays on a more potent Ducks squad and will continue to receive his fair share of power play time. The 31-year-old defenseman has tallied eight goals and 21 assists with a minus 10 rating in 56 games played. He's also a good source of shots on goal as he's fired 127 this season.

James Wisniewski (foot) will make his season debut with the Ducks if his equipment arrives on time.

The Anaheim Ducks are hoping James Wisniewski will help them improve their power play.

The Ducks rank 21st in the NHL when it comes to their percentage power-play conversions (17.4%) despite the fact that they have some great offensive weapons. Having a power-play quarterback like Wisniewski on the roster should help and that in turn should boost Wisniewski's productions. There's a good chance he'll finish the season on a high note.

Wisniewski has eight goals and 29 points in 56 contests in 2014-15. It would be a bit of a surprise if Wisniewski gets traded before the 3:00 p.m. ET deadline on Monday, but it certainly is possible that he's played in his last game with Columbus.
Mar 2 - 9:57 AM

Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards said that the decision to scratch Wisniewski was a reflection of his play rather than any potential trade.
