James Wisniewski was all right after limping off the ice late in the first period Sunday.

Wisniewski returned from a broken foot in late March and has been wearing a foot protector but the protector opened up, forcing him off the ice. "I couldn’t skate," Wisniewski said. "I was so mad." It was fixed and he will continue to wear the extra protection. Wisniewski has four goals and 11 points in only 21 games so continue to use the scoring blueliner in your lineup.
Apr 9 - 8:30 AM

James Wisniewski netted a power-play goal in Columbus' 3-1 win Thursday.

It was just Wisniewski's fourth game back from a broken foot. He's been great when healthy this season with four goals and 11 points in 19 games. Look for him to stay strong as the Blue Jackets' enter the final stretch of their battle for a playoff spot.
Apr 5 - 9:45 AM

Columbus has activated James Wisniewski from injured reserve.

He has missed 14 games with a broken foot, but will get back into Columbus' lineup for the first time since Feb. 24. Wisniewski has been limited to 15 games this season because of injuries, but when he's been healthy he has contributed nine points. The Jackets are going to dress seven defensemen in Thursday's contest against Edmonton.
Mar 28 - 4:34 PM

James Wisniewski (foot) is "real close" to getting back in Columbus' lineup, according to coach Todd Richards.

He has been practicing with the Blue Jackets for more than a week now after missing 14 games with a broken foot. "There's a possibility with go with seven defensemen," said Richards referring to Thursday's game at Edmonton.
Mar 27 - 5:48 PM

James Wisniewski (foot) will travel with Columbus on their upcoming four-game road trip, which begins Saturday in Nashville.

He has missed the past 11 games with a broken foot, but has skated for the last three days. "I wouldn't be going on the trip if I didn't think I could play," Wisniewski said. "This is the hardest part of the process, these first few days getting your body back as close to game shape as possible. But you have to get through it."
Mar 22 - 5:26 PM

James Wisniewski has been placed on injured reserve by Columbus and he's projected to be out of action for four-to-six weeks with a broken foot.

He suffered the injury when he was struck by a shot during Sunday's game against Chicago. Wisniewski has produced all three of his goals on the power play this year and he has nine points in 15 games.
Feb 27 - 3:34 PM

James Wisniewski has a broken bone in his foot and will be out "an extended period of time," according to coach Todd Richards.

Wisniewski did not practice Tuesday after being seen with a noticeable limp following Sunday's game. Richards said the injury occurred during that game, which is pretty incredible considering Wisniewski finished the game with a team-high 26:55 of ice time. Wisniewski's loss will sting some fantasy owners, but is much more significant for the Blue Jackets. We'll list him as out indefinitely for now and update you when we get a more concrete timeline.
Feb 26 - 2:00 PM

James Wisniewski was not on the ice Tuesday morning during practice.

Wisniewski was seen walking with a noticeable limp after Sunday's game. Consider him questionable for Tuesday's game against Dallas.
Feb 26 - 11:49 AM

James Wisniewski was seen walking with a noticeable limp after Sunday's 1-0 loss.

Wisniewski played a team-high 26:55 in Sunday's game, so we wouldn't read too much into it. Almost everyone across the NHL at this point has some sort of bruise, limp or soreness. "We’re all banged up," said teammate Derek MacKenzie, who had an ice pack on his left shoulder after the game. "The grind has officially started." We'll let you know if we hear anything more.
Feb 25 - 10:43 AM

Todd Richards split up his defensive pairing of James Wisniewski and Jack Johnson on Monday.

The two are offensive type defensemen so Richards put them with more defensive-minded partners as Wisniewski played alongside John Moore while Johnson was paired with veteran Adrian Aucoin. Wisniewski returned to action after missing a couple of games due to the birth of his daughter. He has three goals and seven points with a minor penalty in 12 games.
Feb 19 - 7:47 AM

James Wisniewski has rejoined the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Wisniewski left the team so that he could be with his wife for the birth of their daughter. He missed Columbus' contests on Friday and Saturday, but he should be available on Monday.
Feb 18 - 10:10 AM

James Wisniewski's daughter was born Saturday morning.

As we previously mentioned, Wisniewski left the Blue Jackets to be with his pregnant wife in Columbus. The Blue Jackets are playing in Phoenix on Saturday, so we're going to go ahead and assume that Wisniewski will instead spend the day with his wife and newborn child. Congratulations to Wisniewski and his family.
Feb 16 - 9:41 AM

James Wisniewski has traveled back to Columbus to be with his pregnant wife, Nicole.

Wisniewski originally joined the Blue Jackets for their upcoming six-game road trip, but his wife was already overdue, so they were aware that he would return to Columbus when the time was right. It looks like that time is now and consequently Wisniewski will not play on Friday. He might also miss Columbus' game in Phoenix on Saturday.
Feb 15 - 9:57 AM

James Wisniewski's wife, Nicole, is overdue with their first child and will return to Columbus to be with her if she is set to give birth.

The Columbus Blue Jackets begin their six-game road trip on Friday at Los Angeles, so the offensive defender could be absent for a skate or game depending on what happens with his pregnant wife.
