Brandon Segal has signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Washington Capitals.
He produced 24 goals, 44 points and 82 penalty minutes in 73 games last season with the New York Rangers' AHL affiliate in Connecticut. Segal isn't likely to spend much time in the NHL this campaign, so he shouldn't be on your fantasy radar. Tue, Aug 20, 2013 01:30:00 PM

Brandon Segal was recalled by the Rangers on Wednesday.

New York opened training camp with 22 players on their roster and now they have 23. Segal's promotion is probably because Arron Asham will be suspended for Saturday's season-opener at Boston because of his actions in Game 3 of the 2012 playoffs against Philadelphia.
