Blake Comeau scored and added five hits in a 3-2 loss to Columbus on Thursday.
It appeared Comeau had tied the game with just over 2:09 minutes left in regulation but it was called back due to a high stick. Samuel Henley recorded the other goal, the first of his career in his first game. It was a pretty ugly game for the Avalanche, which were outshot 37-20. Dec 2 - 1:18 AM

He has missed four games due to the ailment, which had been lingering for a while. "Since training camp, I've had issues with my groins, and I got to a point where I was just trying to make it through the game, rather than being able to play the way I need to play to help this team win," Comeau said. "I wasn't helping anyone out playing the way I was." He has one goal and one assist in 10 games this season.

As thre pre-season winds to a close there is a very real chance that Blake Comeau will line up on the Avs' top unit alongside Matt Duchene and Jarome Iginla.

That's quite a gig if Comeau can keep it. Colorado is looking at a second line of Nathan MacKinnon between Mikhail Grigorenko and Gabriel Landeskog. Needless to say, the winners in this alignment are Comeau and Grigorenko as they were not in the team's top six in 2015-16.
