Marc-Edouard Vlasic (upper body) will be a game time decision on Saturday.

Marc-Edouard Vlasic is considered questionable to play Thursday against Minnesota.

Marc-Edouard Vlasic left the Sharks' bench in the second period of Tuesday's game with Edmonton and did not return.

Vlasic and Sharks' teammate Mike Brown both left with undisclosed injuries in the second period. For Vlasic it does seem possible that the Sharks are just being cautious with three more games to play still this week. Mike Brown had to be helped off the ice though with an apparent leg injury. We continue to monitor the situation.

Marc-Edouard Vlasic might get a chance to play more with the man advantage in 2014-15.

Vlasic averaged just 42 seconds per game worth of power-play ice time last season. He's emerged as one of the league's top defensemen, but that hasn't translated to standard fantasy leagues because he hasn't stood out offensively. If he starts playing a bigger role with the man advantage than that might change.

Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic feels he will definitely be 100 percent by the start of training camp.

Vlasic suffered apparent head and knee injuries when he was hit by the Kings Jarret Stoll in the first round of this year's playoffs, but he is recovering nicely. Vlasic confirms the head injury is a thing of the past and believes strongly that a bit of time away will get his knee back into game shape. "It’s a question of time – it’s the exact same injury I had two years ago a the world championships and it takes six to eight weeks to heal," Vlasic said. "If I take care of it now, I should be 100 percent come training camp."
Jun 10 - 9:16 PM

NBC hockey analyst Keith Jones thinks Marc-Edouard Vlasic's injury was a major reason for San Jose's first-round elimination against the Kings.

"The strongest point I can make is that if Marc-Edouard Vlasic didn't get hurt, the Sharks are playing right now," Jones said. "The Bruins' series changed after [Krejci's injury in 2010]. The same thing happened to San Jose. I can't emphasize that enough, that's how important of a player [Vlasic] is to that team." Jones was referring to Philadelphia's rally from a 3-0 series deficit in 2010 versus Boston and how it was eerily similar to what happened to the Sharks. San Jose is thinking about retooling their roster, but Jones still thinks they are top contenders.

Just having that experience, being able to bring it here into the playoffs, that's huge. I feel since the Olympics my game has grown, and I have to keep that going here."
