Roman Polak still has not been cleared to play, but he feels no need to rush back from his injury despite being on a professional tryout with the Leafs.
Polak doesn't feel the need to rush back because he believes the Leafs will make a decision on signing him based on his previous play and not what he could or can't do during camp. Earning a spot on the team will likely depend on how the Leafs young defensemen look from now until the start of the season. Regardless, Polak has no fantasy upside. Sep 23 - 12:05 PM

Roman Polak suffered a season-ending lower-body injury in Game 2 on Saturday.

Polak was hurt by a knee-on-knee hit from Washington's Brooks Orpik. It looked like Polak might have suffered a serious injury when he fell awkwardly on his ankle, so it's unfortunately not surprising to hear that he's being shut down. Toronto was already missing Nikita Zaitsev (upper body) and if he can't return for Game 3 then the Leafs' defensive depth will certainly be tested.
