Roman Polak notched his fifth goal of season in Toronto's 3-1 loss to San Jose on Thursday night.

After Daniel Winnik tapped it over to Mike Santorelli by the offensive goal line, Santorelli made his way to the slot and fired a shot wide. Fortunately, it had just the right trajectory to find Polak's stick on the other side, tapping it home to cut the deficit to 2-1 midway through the first. Polak now has eight points on the season and his five goals ranks second behind Cody Franson (6) among blue liners.
