Roman Polak (illness) will be back in the lineup on Monday night against Anaheim.

Polak missed three games due to a viral infection. He has paired with Travis Dermott during the morning skate, which would bump Connor Carrick to the press box.
Feb 5 - 11:28 AM

Roman Polak has been moved to the injured reserve list with a viral infection.

The move is presumably retroactive to Jan. 25, which is when Toronto last played, so Polak doesn't actually have to remain on the IR for long. This does rule him out for Wednesday's game though.

Jan 31 - 5:38 PM

Roman Polak scored a goal and registered an assist in Toronto's 4-3 overtime loss to Colorado.

Polak is up to two goals and five points in 20 games this season. James van Riemsdyk and Matt Martin accounted for the Maple Leafs' other two markers. Patrick Marleau, Josh Leivo, Morgan Rielly, Jake Gardiner, and Andreas Borgman each registered an assist on Friday.

Roman Polak scored a goal while posting a plus-2 rating, two blocked shots and a hit in Tuesday's 4-1 road victory against the Flames.

Polak has been in and out of the press box lately, and he entered with just one assist and a minus-3 rating through six games. In order for Polak to re-emerge as a useful fantasy option outside of the deepest pools he needs the offense to continue to flow, and for his playing time to be less sporadic.

Defenseman Roman Polak will be a healthy scratch when the Toronto Maple Leafs visit the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night.

The Leafs are 1-4-0 with Polak in the lineup this year as the Czech has struggled in his five starts so far. He is of little to no fantasy value with just one point on the year. Dominic Moore and Josh Leivo will join him as scratches.

Roman Polak, who was a healthy scratch Wednesday in Anaheim, will draw back in Thursday against Los Angeles.

Head coach Mike Babcock confirmed that the veteran rearguard will play, but it's a difficult matchup against the high-octane Kings. Polak has very little fantasy appeal in seasonal pools, and he isn't even worth a look in DFS play as a salary saver at this juncture, either.

Roman Polak will be a healthy scratch in Wednesday's game against the Anaheim Ducks.

Polak had suited up in every game since signing a one-year deal with the Leafs two weeks ago, but he'll watch from the press box tonight. He has no goals and one assist in four games this season. Dominic Moore and Kasperi Kapanen will watch from the press box.

Roman Polak has announced that he will play Monday night against Los Angeles.

Polak signed a one-year deal with the Maple Leafs on Sunday. It is expected that will replace Connor Carrick in the lineup. Polak can record hits, blocks and penalty minutes, but he isn't known for creating offense.

Roman Polak has agreed to a one-year contract worth $1.1 million with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Polak attended training camp with the Leafs on a professional tryout and stayed around the team after he didn't initially land a roster spot. He was injured the playoffs last year and needed surgery on his leg. Polak had 11 points, 65 penalty minutes, 232 hits and 133 blocks in 75 games in 2016-17.

Roman Polak still has not been cleared to play, but he feels no need to rush back from his injury despite being on a professional tryout with the Leafs.

Polak doesn't feel the need to rush back because he believes the Leafs will make a decision on signing him based on his previous play and not what he could or can't do during camp. Earning a spot on the team will likely depend on how the Leafs young defensemen look from now until the start of the season. Regardless, Polak has no fantasy upside.

Roman Polak has not played in an exhibition game so far and will not dress Saturday against Buffalo.

Polak, who is in Maple Leaf camp on a professional tryout basis, has only four more games to crack the lineup. It's looking more and more like he won't earn a roster spot, at least not to start the season.
