Blake Wheeler earned an assist in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to Anaheim.

He collected three helpers on Friday in a 6-2 win against Colorado. Wheeler hasn't scored a goal in his past 10 contests, but he has produced seven helpers thanks to his recent outburst.
Dec 8 - 10:05 AM

The Winnipeg Jets are 4-0-1 in their last five games but they know overconfidence could hurt their team going forward.

"The key now is not to (get), I guess the word is ‘fat," said forward Blake Wheeler. "That’s the word Paul (Maurice) uses. Don’t get too caught up in this game, because that’s more of a rarity from our team." The Jets are hosting the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday afternoon.
Dec 7 - 9:18 AM

Blake Wheeler recorded the lone goal for the Jets on Saturday night in their 2-1 loss to the Predators.

Wheeler potted one shorthanded at 6:57 of the first, for the game’s first goal. He is quietly off to a solid start with eight goals and 13 points, with three of those goals coming over the past two games. Evander Kane had the helper on it. Mark Stuart had four penalty minutes.
Nov 15 - 10:20 PM

Blake Wheeler's two goals helped the Jets topple the Hurricanes 3-1 on Thursday night.

Wheeler was a force all night long, posting six shots and two penalty minutes in addition to the goals in 18:29 of ice time. The 28 year-old has notched three multi-point games in his past five, compiling seven goals and 12 points in 17 games this season.
Nov 13 - 10:01 PM

Through 15 games, the Winnipeg Jets lead the league in penalties with 90.

The Jets have dropped the gloves seven times this season and three of those involved the team’s scoring leader, Blake Wheeler. Jets’ head coach Paul Maurice isn’t too concerned about his skill players dropping the gloves. "The game doesn't have that in it anymore," Maurice said, of fighting. "You don't see it. So if I have two players like (Evander) Kane and Wheeler and it happens again, then I start watching a little closer. The energy level's awesome.
Nov 9 - 8:43 AM

Blake Wheeler earned a pair of assists in Winnipeg's 4-3 shootout defeat to Pittsburgh.

He had a hand in goals by Jacob Trouba and Evander Kane to rally the Jets from a 3-1 deficit. Wheeler has recorded two straight multi-point outings and he now has 10 points in 14 matches.
Nov 7 - 6:46 AM

Blake Wheeler recorded a goal and an assist for the Jets as part of Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Predators.

Despite the strong effort, the hulking winger is slightly behind his typical scoring pace with eight points in 13 contests thus far. Andrew Ladd and Mark Scheifele also scored for the Jets in the hard-fought victory.
Nov 5 - 12:53 AM

Blake Wheeler scored his fourth goal of the season but missed his shootout attempt in Thursday night's 2-1 loss to New Jersey.

It was just Wheeler's second goal in his past nine games after notching a pair in the season opener. The 28-year-old still figures to be better offensively than his six points so far would suggest, as he is an instrumental part in the slumping Jets offense.
Oct 30 - 10:10 PM

Blake Wheeler found a way to beat Ben Bishop on Friday night, unfortunately it was too little too late as the Jets fell 4-2.

It was as though the puck and his stick were magnetically charged because Wheeler found a the puck, twice, in a crowd before whirling and scoring in the third. It was his third of the season. He led all skaters with eight shots and skated 20:58 with just under seven minutes of special teams play.
Oct 25 - 12:19 AM

Blake Wheeler has dropped the gloves twice in three games this season.

Coach Paul Maurice doesn't mind that his top player is engaging in fisticuffs, especially after Sunday's tilt came as a result of a low check to Mark Scheifele. "I like his fight and his compete, know what I mean?" the Jets bench boss said. "That happens fast. So when you talk about fights in hockey, that happened real fast. He didn't like the hit. Nobody did. And you want that reaction, for me, rather than turning around and screaming at the referee for a call. Clearly, we don't need somebody else to come out and answer for it. It happens then and it's dealt with then. I like how hard he plays, how hard he competes and it's a good example for our team." The play gave Wheeler an instigator penalty, along with a misconduct. Wheeler hasn't found the scoresheet in his past two outings after he had two goals and a helper in Winnipeg's regular season opener.
Oct 13 - 7:05 AM

Blake Wheeler sniped two goals and an assist in Thursday night's convincing 6-2 victory over Arizona to kick off the Jets' season.

"We got some good bounces for us tonight and I think our confidence will build from there," said Wheeler, who was drafted by the Coyotes in 2004 but refused to sign with the franchise. Bryan Little also pitched in two goals, as the Jets scored four times in the first period to quiet a sellout crowd in Glendale, Ariz. Wheeler is coming off an impressive 69 point season in 2013-14, and has started this year right where he left off.
Oct 10 - 2:30 AM

Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun thinks that Blake Wheeler will be paired with Mark Scheifele this season.

Wheeler spent most of his five-on-five time alongside Bryan Little last year, but he did play with Scheifele as well and the duo enjoyed some success. Playing alongside the Jets' leader scoring would certainly give Scheifele a boost in 2014-15.
Aug 25 - 9:46 AM

Winnipeg forward Blake Wheeler was held without a point in Monday's 1-0 shutout loss to the Wild.

It's been a rare occurrence to see Wheeler held pointless of late, as the talented winger had scored in five of his last six games entering Monday. After a mildly slow start to his campaign, the US Olympian has been dynamite ever since and has now amassed 67 points on the year.
