The Boston Bruins have released Peter Mueller from his PTO.
An unfortunate break for Mueller, who hasn't played in the NHL since scoring 17 points in 43 games for Florida in 2012-13. His value is limited at best in fantasy, but one wonders if this isn't then end of the NHL-road for the former first round pick in 2006. Oct 2 - 7:42 PM

Peter Mueller "looked good" on the opening day of training camp, according to Bruins assistant coach Joe Sacco.

Sacco is familiar with Mueller from their days together in Colorado, where Sacco was the head coach. "I only saw him for an hour on the ice and I really haven’t had a chance to talk to him too much. But he looks good," said Sacco. "I coached him at the World Championships a couple of years ago, too, when he was playing over in Europe and he started to look like he was getting back to his old form. Today was only Day 1 and he was only out there for an hour, so he’s in the same boat as a lot of other guys. He’s being evaluated on a daily basis, and you hope he can increase his play each day." Mueller has a good combination of size and skill, but head injuries have really hampered his play. The 28-year-old spent the last three seasons playing in Europe. Even if he's able to crack the Bruins roster, don't expect him to have any significant fantasy value.

Peter Mueller has agreed to a professional tryout with the Boston Bruins.

He played for the Malmo Redhawks of the Swedish Hockey League last year, where he posted 13 goals and 25 points in 43 games.

Peter Mueller has re-signed with Kloten of Switzerland's National League A.

He was hoping to return to the NHL this season, but he ended up being demoted by the St. Louis Blues and decided that the two sides should part ways. He cleared unconditional waivers on Wednesday and had his contract terminated, which freed him up to return to Europe. Mueller had 24 goals and 46 points in 49 games with Kloten last year.

Peter Mueller has successfully cleared unconditional waivers.

Mueller's contract has been terminated by the St. Louis Blues after he decided against playing in the AHL. He's likely to sign with a European club.

Although Peter Mueller has been placed on unconditional waivers, there's still an off chance that he'll remain with the franchise.

Assuming Mueller clears waivers, Blues GM Doug Armstrong plans to talk to Mueller one last time about his situation before terminating his contract. Mueller was penciled in as a top-nine forward when he signed, but didn't make the team's roster and doesn't appear to be interested in playing in the minors. He might end up back in Europe instead.

Peter Mueller has been placed on unconditional waivers by the St. Louis Blues.

If Mueller clears waivers, his contract is expected to be terminated. It would be surprising if a team claims Mueller at this point given that he successfully cleared waivers just a week ago. The Blues and Mueller might have agreed to go this route so that he could pursue European offers.

The St. Louis Blues announced that Peter Mueller has been sent to the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.

Mueller was out of the league last year. He registered 46 points in 49 games in the Swiss league last season.

Peter Mueller has been placed on waivers by the Blues.

He logged just 7:56 of ice time in Tuesday's preseason game against Carolina. Mueller was viewed as a long shot to crack St. Louis' roster after he signed a two-way deal with the team in the summer. He might be heading to the minors once he clears.

Peter Mueller skated with Jori Lehtera and Vladimir Tarasenko on Friday.

He signed a two-way deal with the Blues in July and it will be an uphill climb for him to earn a spot on a deep team. However, getting a look alongside Lehtera and Tarasenko indicates that St. Louis is willing to give him an opportunity to impress.

Peter Mueller has signed a one-year, two-way contract with the St. Louis Blues.

Mueller had 24 goals and 46 points in 48 games with Kloten, which plays in Switzerland's top league. He'll have a tough time making the Blues' opening game roster and if he does, it will be as a bottom-six forward.

Peter Mueller will be playing for Team USA at the World Hockey Championship when the tournament begins Friday.

Mueller registered 24 goals and 46 points in 49 games with Kloten in Switzerland's top league this past season. If he has a strong showing then perhaps he can stir up interest from NHL teams. In 297 appearances with Phoenix, Colorado and Florida, Mueller has generated 63 goals and 160 points.

Peter Mueller has signed with the Swiss league's Kloten Flyers.

Mueller had eight goals and 17 points in 43 games with the Florida Panthers last season. His once promising career got stalled by concussion issues, but at the same time he's only 25 and it wouldn't be shocking to see him eventually return to the NHL.

The Florida Panthers didn't extend a qualifying offer to Peter Mueller but would still like to re-sign the winger.

GM Dale Tallon said the team didn't qualify Mueller because they are fearful of him taking them to arbitration. Tallon said the two sides will continue to negotiate, although Mueller will become an unrestricted free agent Friday. Mueller had eight goals and 17 points in 43 games this season.

It isn't clear if Peter Mueller will get a qualifying offer from the Florida Panthers.

He could still return to the team if he doesn't get one, but in that situation he would be eligible to listen to other offers via unrestricted free agency. Mueller posted eight goals and 17 points in 43 games for Florida in 2013.
