Bryan Little (upper body) might not be done for the season after all.
Little hasn't played since Feb. 18 and wasn't expected to return before the end of the 2015-16 campaign, but it seems he's been progressing quicker than expected. He took part in Wednesday's practice and was able to absorb some light contact. Regarding the possibility of playing again this season Little said, "It's tough to say. They're not going to put me in unless I'm absolutely 100 per cent and I don't want to play unless I'm absolutely 100 per cent. Everything feels really good right now... It's just a matter of everything being strong enough to take a hit." Mar 30 - 3:50 PM

Bryan Little will miss the rest of the season with a compression fractured vertebrae.

Little will finish the season with 17 goals and 42 points in 57 contests. This has been a disappointing season for the Jets overall and losing Little will only increase their chances of finishing in the NHL's basement. As it is they're just four points ahead of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Edmonton Oilers. Winnipeg has summoned Matt Halischuk as a result of this injury.
Feb 25 - 1:48 PM

Bryan Little (upper body) did not travel with the Jets to Dallas for Thursday night's game.

"He's been going through a battery of tests," coach Paul Maurice said. "We got some results last night, and there's a bit of a red flag in one of them. So he's not going to travel today in order for him to test here either later today or tomorrow. And then we'll proceed based on those results." There is still a chance that Little could join the team in Pittsburgh for Saturday's contest if he's available to play. He has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury.
Feb 25 - 10:06 AM

Coach Paul Maurice is hopeful that Bryan Little (upper body) will be able to play on Winnipeg's two-game road trip this week.

The Jets visit Dallas on Thursday and Pittsburgh on Saturday. As previously reported, Little won't play Tuesday night against the Stars, but he did skate in a no-contact role the morning.
Feb 23 - 5:22 PM

Bryan Little (upper body) won't be back in the lineup on Tuesday.

He is slated to be re-evaluated in the morning, so his status for Thursday's rematch against Dallas is unclear at this time. Little skated on Monday, but he did so wearing a no-contact jersey.
Feb 22 - 2:31 PM

Bryan Little will not play Saturday against the Panthers due to an upper-body injury.

That's the bad news. The good news is that Jets' coach Paul Maurice believes Little is a day-to-day situation, which rules out a serious injury. Little, as you may recall, got rocked by the Bolts' Anton Stralman on Thursday.
Feb 20 - 1:53 PM

Bryan Little was injured in Thursday's game against Tampa Bay when he was hit hard by Anton Stralman in the neutral zone.

Little was off-balance, with his head down, on the collision and went to the locker room. Coach Paul Maurice was apoplectic with rage on the bench and he ended up getting ejected. "I was upset because you work with these guys every day and you care about them and their wives and their families," said Maurice after the game. "Little is getting neck x-rayed and I seem to be more concerned about the result of that hit than anyone else." Little did travel with the team, but an update on his status isn't expected to come Friday.
Feb 19 - 10:14 AM

Bryan Little had a hand in both of Winnipeg's goals during a 6-2 loss to Boston on Thursday night.

Feb 11 - 11:24 PM

Bryan Little scored a goal in Tuesday's 2-1 shootout win over the St. Louis Blues.

Little opened the scoring 15 seconds into the second period. Dustin Byfuglien and Tobias Enstrom picked up the assists on Winnipeg's only goal in regulation. Little has 16 goals and 39 points in 53 games this season. Mark Scheifele scored the game-winning goal in the shootout.
Feb 9 - 11:52 PM

Bryan Little has scored one goal in the last 15 games.

"I feel like I'm playing well and we're getting scoring chances," Little said. "It would be one thing if I wasn't getting any shots or not doing anything out there. But we're getting chances — real good chances. And I think it's just a matter of relaxing when you do get those chances." Little has collected nine points over that span and he has 12 shots on goal in his last three outings, so he's bound to break through eventually.
Feb 4 - 9:56 AM

Bryan Little will play versus Arizona on Tuesday night.

He was listed as a game-time decision because of an undisclosed ailment. Through 48 games this season the Jets' top center has posted 15 goals and 38 points with 45 hits, and has won well over half his draws. Get him in your lineup!
Jan 26 - 8:04 PM

Bryan Little (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision Tuesday.

He didn't participate in the morning skate after leaving Monday's session early. Coach Paul Maurice said Little underwent some tests and he will take part in the pregame warm-ups before a decision on his status is made.
Jan 26 - 12:35 PM

Bryan Little left practice early Monday, but whatever he is suffering from may not prevent him from playing Tuesday.

"If he loosens up he's fine for tomorrow," coach Paul Maurice said. "If not, we'll see." Consider him questionable for now.
