Michael Frolik scored twice in the Flames' 5-3 loss to Anaheim on Tuesday.
The shifty forward now has six goals on the year and 14 points in 22 games. He's had 42 points in each of his last two seasons as a member of the Jets and he looks to be on his way to meet or surpass that total again this season. Sam Bennett picked up a goal and assist as well in a losing cause. Nov 25 - 1:32 AM

Michael Frolik was back at practice Tuesday and he'll play against the Florida Panthers.

He skipped Monday's session because of an illness. Frolik has registered three goals, which all came against Edmonton on Oct. 31, and three assists during a four-game point streak. He is projected to play alongside Mikael Backlund and Sam Bennett.
Nov 10 - 3:28 PM

Michael Frolik recorded his first career hat trick in Saturday's 5-4 win over Edmonton.

Thing is, it's arguable that none of his goals should've gone in. Frolik fooled Talbot behind the goal line for his first tally, scored through a screen from along the boards, and then squeaked his third through the wickets on the goal line once again. Not that Frolik or the Oilers care. With the trio, he now has eight points on the season.
Nov 1 - 1:12 AM

Michael Frolik is skating on Calgary's top line.

He has joined Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan on the first unit, with Jiri Hudler set to play with Mikael Backlund and Sam Bennett. Frolik has no goals and three assists in his first five games with the Flames.
Oct 20 - 6:35 PM

Michael Frolik has two goals and two assists in three preseason games.

While preseason statistics need to be taken with a grain of salt, it's still an encouraging sign for Calgary. Frolik was inked to a five-year, $21.5-million contract this summer in the hopes that he would provide the Flames with some offensive depth.

Michael Frolik found the back of the net, and help set up another in Calgary's 4-1 win over Vancouver on Friday night.

Frolik's goal was a pretty one as Jiri Hudler found Frolik at the back door from an awkward angle late in the second period. Frolik meanwhile collected a classic hockey assist as he threw one off Jacob Markstrom's far leg, an easy set-up for Sam Bennett just eight minutes earlier. If this chemistry is real, he could be on his way to his third career 20+ goal season and third straight 40+ point season.
Sep 26 - 12:52 AM

Michael Frolik scored the lone goal in Calgary's 3-1 split-squad exhibition game loss to Edmonton on Monday night.

Frolik opened the scoring by beating Ben Scrivens at 06:07 of the second period. Johnny Gaudreau and Jonas Hiller assisted on Frolik's power-play goal.
Sep 22 - 1:05 AM

Michael Frolik is ready to step into any and every role the Flames need him to in order to boost the squad for the upcoming season.

"In the past, I’ve proved I can play different roles on the team. I don’t know what my role’s going to be but I’m ready for it. Like I did in the past, I can be in the first line, I can play the third line, PK, powerplay," said the new acquisition. ""It’s gonna be a new system, different adjustments but I’m very excited to work with the coach here. I talked to (Bob Hartley) and he’s going to give me a chance to play big minutes." Frolik was a fixture in the Jets' top six last year, so its unlikely he collects significantly more than the 42 points he managed last season.
Jul 18 - 12:43 PM

Michael Frolik is happy to be a member of the Calgary Flames.

Frolik spoke to new teammate and fellow Czech native Jiri Hudler before deciding to sign with the Flames. "He just said great things about Calgary," said Frolik. "Obviously, I know what kind of player (Hudler) is . . . a very smart player. He’s on the right side, too, but I don’t know if we’re going to play on the same line — probably not. It’s going to be exciting to have him on the same team." Frolik is also a right winger but has played the left wing as well in his career and could join Hudler as a top-six forward.
Jul 2 - 6:54 AM

Michael Frolik has inked a five-year, $21.5 million contract with the Calgary Flames.

He generated 19 goals and 42 points with the Jets last season. Frolik can kill penalties and play up and down the lineup.
Jul 1 - 1:07 PM

Michael Frolik may be a target of the Montreal Canadiens in free agency.

Frolik was acquired by Chicago in a trade from the Florida Panthers when Montreal GM Bergevin was working in the Blackhawks' front office. Frolik was part of the club's Stanley Cup championship team in 2013 and he plays a solid two-way game.
Jun 30 - 11:58 AM

Potential UFA Michael Frolik and the Winnipeg Jets aren't close to reaching an agreement on a new contract.

It's already been reported that Frolik traveled to Florida to meet with other clubs about a contract. The 27-year-old didn't put up huge offensive numbers last year (19 goals and 42 points), but his two-way play is strong and he will have several people lining up for his services. The door isn't completely closed on the Jets, but if he goes to market, it will be extremely tough for them to bring him back.
Jun 28 - 2:51 PM

Michael Frolik is in Florida Thursday to meet with other teams.

The pending unrestricted free agent can speak with other clubs now because he hasn't been able to reach an agreement with the Jets. However, that doesn't mean the door is completely closed on them.
Jun 25 - 10:28 AM

Winnipeg is engaging in ongoing talks with the agent of Michael Frolik.

He can become an unrestricted free agent on July 1 and there's plenty of speculation that he could demand more than the Jets are willing to spend. However, the fact that they are continuing to talk suggests that an agreement could still be reached.
Jun 22 - 6:40 PM

Michael Frolik can become an unrestricted free agent in July.

He finished sixth on the Jets in scoring in 2014-15 with 42 points in 82 games. However, he may price himself out of Winnipeg's range and seek to get what he's after on the open market.
