Patrik Berglund has been added to Team Sweden's roster for the upcoming World Cup.

Berglund is replacing Rickard Rakell, who has been hospitalized with a stomach virus. Berglund was part of Sweden's 2014 Olympic silver-medal winning team and also represented Sweden in the 2009 and 2011 World Championships. He's coming off of a campaign where he scored 10 goals and 15 points in 42 contests with the St. Louis Blues.

Patrik Berglund exited Tuesday's game briefly when his hip or leg appeared to hit a slightly opened bench door.

The incident occurred in the second period and Berglund was able to return before the frame ended. He finished the match with 15:29 of ice time. Berglund had a great series versus Dallas in Round 2, where he earned six of his eight playoff points, but he hasn't hit the scoresheet in two games versus San Jose.

One player who has really impressed his coach in the playoffs so far is Patrik Berglund.

Blues bench boss Ken Hitchcock had this to say regarding Berglund: "This is the best he's played since I've coached him. He's got determination in his game that's at another level." Hitchcock went on to say that Berglund had great jump to his game that may be as a result of maturity and the time of year the games are being played. It looks like Berglund has finally found favour in his coach's eyes and a permanent place on the Blues' starting roster.

The Blues knocked the Stars out of the playoffs in Game 7 and Berglund had a great series against them. He picked up three goals and three helpers in the second round of the postseason after he recorded two points Round 1.

Berglund tried to whip a wrister through Michal Rozsival's legs fro the offensive blue line, the puck instead deflected off the defender's right leg, bounced between the hash marks, and found its way to the right corner past Corey Crawford's glove. The tally was Berglund's first point of the playoffs, and tied the game at two before Jaden Schwartz clinched the 3-2 victory.

Berglund beat Devils goalie Keith Kinkaid with power play goals in the first and second periods. The 27-year-old has three goals and four points in six games since making his regular season debut on January 2nd. Scottie Upshall, Ty Rattie and David Backes also found the back of the net for St. Louis.
