With Matt Hunwick (upper-body) out on Sunday, the Rangers needed a replacement for him on the roster. Summers was acquired from Arizona in the Keith Yandle trade.

Chris Summers has been traded to the New York Rangers as part of the Keith Yandle trade.

The Rangers have acquired both players and a 4th round pick from the Coyotes in exchange for prospect Anthony Duclair, John Moore, a 2016 first round pick and a 2015 2nd round pick. Summers, 27, has never been a full-time NHLer in his career. He is just a minor part of a huge trade. He will serve as organizational depth for the Rangers. He has three assists in 17 games with Arizona this season.

Chris Summers and Alexandre Bolduc will sit against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday night.

Summers has played just four times since the calendar turned, and in 16 games overall with three points and eight penalty minutes. Meanwhile Bolduc has just five points and 44 PIMs in 65 career NHL games. Meaning neither have much of any fantasy value.

Chris Summers and B.J. Crombeen are expected to be scratched once again Monday night in Chicago.

Nothing will change for the Coyotes Monday night as Summers and Crombeen will be sidelined as healthy scratches for a second consecutive game. Summers hasn't skated with 'Yotes since January 18th and has three assists and a minus 12 rating in just 16 games this year. Crombeen has a goal and two helpers in 37 games to go with 53 penalty minutes in the 2014-2015 season.

He's replacing Zbynek Michalek who's out with an upper body injury. Summers has no fantasy value, however.

Chris Summers and Brandon McMillan are expected to play Tuesday night against San Jose despite being placed on waivers earlier in the day.

In fact, Summers will skate with Connor Murphy on Arizona's third defensive pairing and McMillan will play the left wing on the third line next to Joe Vitale and David Moss. There isn't much fantasy value to speak of here, but it is an interesting turn of events nevertheless.
