Michael Grabner (lower body) has been taken off of the injured reserve list.

Don't expect Michael Grabner (lower body) to return on Tuesday.

Although Grabner might be healthy enough to play at this point, finding a spot in the lineup for him would be challenging. He's on the injured reserve list still, so the Islanders would need to take someone else off their NHL roster to make room for him. They didn't put anyone on waivers on Monday.

Michael Grabner (lower body) is likely to sit out Sunday's game and remain on the injured reserve list.

Just an FYI as he will miss his ninth straight game. Grabner has played in only five games this season with two goals as he missed the first two months of the season with a groin injury.
Jan 4 - 8:08 AM

Michael Grabner (lower body) is very close to returning to the Islanders' lineup.

There was some speculation that Grabner might return on Wednesday, but his return was ultimately delayed a little longer. The bigger question at this point is who will be pulled from the lineup to make room for him. Islanders coach Jack Capuano is pleased with all four of his lines and the team is on a 6-1-1 run. It's not out of the question that Grabner might initially serve as a healthy scratch once he's ready to play.
