Michael Grabner has no goals in 20 games this season.
"You have to stick with it and hope it goes in soon," he said. "It's frustrating, but lately it has been a little easier, playing some solid hockey and winning some games." Grabner scored 34 goals back in 2010-11 with the Islanders and he netted 20 goals the year after that, but his touch around the net has diminished since that time. He has two assists and 22 shots this campaign. Nov 25 - 8:40 AM

Michael Grabner missed a penalty shot in Saturday's win over the Canucks.

Grabner was awarded a penalty shot at the 14:50 mark of the second period with his team up 2-0. The Canucks were able to score less than two minutes after Grabner missed on his attempt, but they were able to hold on for the win. Grabner is now one-for-seven on penalty shots in his career. He is still search for his first goal as a Maple Leaf.

It looks like Michael Grabner will make his Toronto Maple Leafs debut as they face the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.

Despite the obviously less-than-ideal start, Grabner has enough speed to possibly make an impact today. The Leafs need some kind of shot in the arm, especially on offense. Roman Polak is also expected to be in Toronto's lineup.
Oct 10 - 1:52 PM

For the second game in a row, Michael Grabner will be a healthy scratch for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Grabner was acquired by the Leafs from the Islanders in mid-September but he still hasn't played a meaningful game for his new team. Joining him in the press box are Roman Polak and Frank Corrado.
Oct 9 - 7:24 PM

Michael Grabner will be a healthy scratch Wednesday night.

He was the odd man out during the morning skate and won't make his Toronto debut aganist Montreal. Grabner had just eight goals and 13 points in 34 games with the Islanders last season.
Oct 7 - 6:44 PM

Don't be surprised if newly-acquired Michael Grabner earns a job on one of the Maple Leafs' top two lines.

Garbner can fly and he has a scorer's touch as evidenced by his 34-goal campaign a few seasons ago. He fell out of favour in Long Island and was relegated to primarily penalty-killing duty last season but with Toronto he could play a much bigger role. Watch him this training camp.
Sep 19 - 10:18 AM

The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired Michael Grabner from the New York Islanders in exchange for Matt Finn, Taylor Beck, Christopher Gibson, Tom Nilsson and Carter Verhaeghe.

This move brings Toronto down from 49 contracts to 45, which is noteworthy because the limit is 50 and the Leafs invited four players to their training camp on a tryout basis. As for Grabner, he comes with a $3 million annual cap hit for the 2015-16 campaign, but he's owed $5 million in salary due to the backloaded nature of his five-year deal. He had eight goals and 13 points in 34 games with the Islanders last season, so while Toronto is freeing up contract space, the Islanders' primary motivation is likely reducing their salary obligations and creating cap space.
Sep 17 - 12:38 PM

Michael Grabner is on the trade block, according to Newsday’s Arthur Staple.

In fact, Staple says the Islanders are "actively shopping" the 27-year-old winger. After scoring 34 and 20 goals, respectively, in the 2010 and 2011 seasons, Grabner has a total of 36 goals over the past three seasons. He had eight goals and 13 points in 34 games in 2014-15 and recently had a second sports hernia surgery. He is due to make $5 million, with a $3 million cap hit, in the last season of his contract.
Jun 20 - 11:16 PM

Forward Michael Grabner will be joined by forwards Colin McDonald, Eric Boulton, along with defenders Matt Donovan, Ryan Pulock in the press box for Game Five versus Washington.

With Tyler Kennedy remaining in the lineup and Mikhail Grabovski returning and centering the third line, Grabner finds himself without a line to play on. But even if he did play, the speedy defensive winger doesn't offer much fantasy value. And neither do the rest of his benched mates.

It does not appear that there will be any line up changes in Game Four for the New York Islanders on Tuesday night against the Washington Capitals.

Michael Grabner will be joined by, Eric Boulton, Matt Donovan, Colin McDonald and Griffin Reinhart. While both Mikhail Grabovski and Travis Hamonic remain out with injuries.

Michael Grabner will be a healthy scratch in Sunday's game against Washington.

Joining Grabner in the press box will be Eric Boulton, Matt Donovan, Colin McDonald and Griffin Reinhart. Mikhail Grabovski and Travis Hamonic are both injured and will not play on Sunday.
Apr 19 - 12:23 PM

Michael Grabner scored his eighth goal of the season on Friday.

It has not been a good season for Grabner who has only 13 points in 33 games this season. He was injured early on and then had been a healthy scratch on numerous occasions in March. Do not expect a lot of production from him in the playoffs although he certainly is capable.
Apr 11 - 7:48 AM

Michael Grabner and Colin McDonald will fill in for the injured Matt Martin and Frans Nielsen in Tuesday night's tilt with the Philadelphia Flyers.

Unfortunately, there simply isn't much fantasy value between either forward. Grabner has posted just seven goals and 12 points over 31 games this season, and hadn't played in nine games. McDonald meanwhile has seen just 17 games this season, collecting eight points and 71 hits over that span.
Apr 7 - 6:40 PM

Michael Grabner, Tyler Kennedy, Colin McDonald, Matt Donovan and Calvin de Haan will be healthy scratches in Thursday's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Grabner scored 34 goals for the Islanders in 2010-11 but he has just 55 goals since then. His fantasy upside is almost non-existent and the fact that he has been scratched seven straight games won't help.
Apr 2 - 6:51 PM

Michael Grabner is no longer dealing with an illness.

Grabner might be a healthy scratch now that he's available though. He has seven goals and 12 points in 31 contests this season.
