The Columbus Blue Jacket players think it's time to have a team captain again.
The last captain was Rick Nash who was dealt in 2012. "What it does is allow one guy to have coaches talk to, to have management come down and talk to," leading scorer Nick Foligno said. "It’s a guy that really has the heartbeat of the team in mind. I think that’s really good. That’s why every team has one. We were in such a transition period, I don’t think we really needed one the past three years. But now we’re on to that next phase where we know what type of team we are, and I think it’s important to have a captain who can exemplify that each and every night. It is a guy you can turn to and know he is going to lead us for a lot of years. I know there is a guy in that (dressing) room that can do that." Foligno would be one of the favorites if the team chose to have a captain again. Apr 13 - 6:55 AM
