Nick Foligno notched two points, including the winning goal with only 29 seconds left in the overtime period, to lift the surging Columbus Blue Jackets to a 4-3 triumph over the Avalanche in Colorado Monday night.
The goal was Foligno's sixth of the season and his assist was his 12th of the season. Nick Foligno will get back into the fold for Columbus on Thursday after being activated from injured reserve Wednesday night.

He has been out of commission since March 26 due to an upper-body injury. Foligno will join R.J. Umberger and Ryan Johansen on the team's second line against Nashville.

Columbus acquired the rights to Foligno in exchange for Marc Methot. He had 15 goals and 47 points with the Ottawa Senators in 2011-12. He should get a spot on one of Columbus' top two lines and a healthy amount of playing time with the man advantage.

Nick Foligno has been traded from the Ottawa Senators to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for defenseman Marc Methot.

Foligno registered 15 goals and added 32 assists in 82 games with the Senators last season. He should factor into Columbus' top-six forward group in 2012-13, but don't expect a dramatic rise in production from the 47 points he secured this past campaign.

Nick Foligno has notched a goal and an assist in two playoff games versus the New York Rangers.

He posted a 0.57 points-per-game average during the regular season, so his postseason improvement is fairly noteworthy at this time. Foligno didn't have a shot in Game 1, while picking up an assist, but he was credited with three in Game 2 and is off to a strong start against the Blueshirts.
