Dwyer was hurt during Saturday's contest. He has no points in two games this season.
Oct 13 - 12:29 PM

Patrick Dwyer suffered a lower-body injury Saturday night against the Islanders.

No word on whether this is the same injury that bothered him during training camp. Dwyer played 12:36 before departing. He had a shot on goal and also blocked a shot. The 31-year-old registered 22 points in 75 games last season.
Oct 12 - 2:04 AM

Pat Dwyer (lower body) will be available for Carolina's season opener.

Dwyer dealt with the ailment through the tail end of training camp. He had eight goals and 14 assists in 75 contests in 2013-14.
Oct 8 - 1:05 PM

Pat Dwyer is still out of action with a lower body injury.

The Hurricanes are currently at 24 players and if Dwyer is deemed not to be ready to go, they could put him on the injured list and go with the rest of the 23 man roster for opening night. Dwyer had eight goals and 22 points in 75 games last season so he is not fantasy-worthy.
Oct 5 - 7:06 AM

Pat Dwyer is dealing with an undisclosed injury.

Dwyer will miss Friday's preseason contest as a result. He had eight goals and 22 points in 75 games in 2013-14.
Oct 3 - 12:23 PM

Parick Dwyer’s eighth tally of the season was all the Hurricanes could muster against Henrik Lundqvist as the Rangers beat Carolina 4-1.

Dwyer was set up by Brett Bellemore early in the first period, but the Rangers took over the game soon afterwards. Dwyer has 22 points in 72 games this season.
Apr 8 - 11:21 PM

It's very likely a case of too little, too late -- and the Hurricanes almost certainly will miss the playoffs for a fifth consecutive season -- but their special teams have improved recently.

In the past nine games, the Canes have scored on nine of 31 power plays (29 percent). The penalty kill has been even better, with Carolina going 32-of-34 in the past 13 games (94.1 percent) to move up to 13th in the NHL at 82.8 percent. "I don’t think we changed anything systematically," said Canes forward Patrick Dwyer, who gets a lot of shorthanded ice time. "We had some meeting where we sat down and said, ‘You’ve got to take pride in doing it and in killing the penalties, knowing you’re going to get your bumps and bruises and stings, but knowing you’ve got to take that or we’ll find someone else who will.’" Dwyer said coach Kirk Muller was the first to make the demand, but other players also spoke up. "It was like, ‘Enough’s enough. We’re going to need this to be in games and we need to figure it out,’" Dwyer said.
Apr 5 - 9:54 AM

Pat Dwyer scored a goal and added an assist for Carolina in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Blue Jackets.

Dwyer is not typically counted on for much scoring, which is why his 18 points in 62 games don't make him worthy of a spot on fantasy rosters. Nathan Gerbe and Andrei Loktionov also scored goals for Carolina in the win.
Mar 18 - 10:52 PM

Pat Dwyer (lower body) was able to play for Carolina on Saturday.

Dwyer was questionable for the contest, but he didn't end up missing any games as a result of the injury. He had a minus-one rating and four shots on goal. He also logged 17:04 minutes in Carolina's 3-2 win over Florida.
Jan 19 - 5:31 AM

Pat Dwyer is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Dwyer has five goals and 13 points in 43 games this season. He isn't expected to ever have much fantasy value in standard leagues.
Jan 14 - 2:15 PM

Pat Dwyer assisted on two goals Saturday in the Hurricanes 3-2 win.

It was a big game for Dwyer who also had seven shots on goal to lead the Hurricanes. He now has four goals and 12 points in 39 games with a plus-three rating. He started the game on the third line but played mostly with Jordan Staal on the second unit. He is a fringe player in deep, deep, fantasy pools at best.
Jan 5 - 7:31 AM

Pat Dwyer scored for the second time in two games on Sunday.

Dwyer is a bottom six forward so he is not expected to score much but now has three goals in his last six games. Dwyer has five points in 22 games this season but do not expect this recent offensive outburst to continue and enjoy it while you can.
Mon, Nov 25, 2013 05:57:00 AM

Pat Dwyer had a goal and an assist in Carolina's 2-1 win Tuesday.

It was a rare night for Dwyer offensively as he now has just three points in 16 games. He's a physical forward, but in addition to not getting many points, he also doesn't spend much time in the sin bin.
