The New York Islanders took Mikhail Grabovski off injured reserve on Saturday. He's expected to play against the Dallas Stars in tonight's game.
In four games, Grabovski - listed at all three forward positions in Yahoo - has two goals, one assist, a +3 rating, four blocked shots and seven SOG. With Josh Bailey injured, this is a welcome return for the Islanders. Oct 25 - 12:41 PM

Mikhail Grabovski (concussion) might return on Saturday.

Grabovski had a positive skate on Friday, but his availability won't be determined until after he participates in Saturday's practice. He hasn't played since Oct. 16. Before being sidelined, he had two goals and three points in four games.
Oct 24 - 2:34 PM

Mikhail Grabovski (concussion) has been placed on the injured reserve list.

The move is retroactive to Oct. 16, so this doesn't actually say much about how long the Islanders expect him to be sidelined. He was able to skate on Tuesday.
Oct 22 - 12:57 PM

Mikhail Grabovski (concussion) was on the ice Tuesday morning.

Grabovski hasn't played since Thursday due to a concussion. The fact that he's already back on the ice is very encouraging, but it remains to be seen if he'll return soon.
Oct 21 - 12:27 PM

After initial reports indicated that he avoided a concussion, it appears that symptoms surfaced for New York Islanders forward Mikhail Grabovski.

He received a thunderous hit from San Jose Sharks enforcer John Scott. The team labels him out indefinitely and there won't be an update until early next week, according to New York Newsday. Grabovski seemed to be fitting in well with the Islanders, scoring three points in four games (including that abbreviated contest against San Jose).
Oct 18 - 5:20 PM

Mikhail Grabovski is out indefinitely after he was hit hard by San Jose's John Scott on Thursday night.

He won't travel with the Islanders to Pittsburgh for Saturday's contest. Grabovski is good at bouncing back after big hits, so he was clearly rocked badly from the collision. It's still unconfirmed what the "upper-body injury" is exactly, but the Islanders didn't think it was a concussion after the game.
Oct 17 - 6:43 PM

Mikhail Grabovski was knocked out of Thursday's game after absorbing a hard hit by San Jose's John Scott.

Grabovski has an upper-body injury, but the good news is that the Islanders don't think he has a concussion. He has two goals and three points in four games this season.
Oct 17 - 5:28 AM

Mikhail Grabovski played just 3:11 Thursday night after being trucked by John Scott of the San Jose Sharks.

It was a routine play off the wall as Grabo collected the puck on his offensive left wall. Scott met him with Grabo's head down on a clean, but devastating, shoulder-check. It appears Scott's shoulder met Grabovski's chin, however Grabo was not concussed on the play. The type of injury and how much time, if any, he's expected to miss has not been announced yet.
Oct 17 - 12:25 AM

Mikhail Grabovski is off to a strong start with the Islanders.

The entire Islanders' team has clicked early so Grabovski's success has been partially lost in the shuffle. Still it's worth noting that he has two goals and three points in three games. His addition as a free agent gives the Islanders some extra offensive depth, although New York certainly hasn't lacked that so far in 2014-15.
Oct 15 - 6:03 AM

Mikhail Grabovski will get a chance to show what he can do alongside John Tavares and Kyle Okposo.

It's far more likely that Grabovski will end up centering the second line, but it would be a big boost to him if he ends up playing alongside Tavares. For that reason alone, this situation is worth monitoring closely.
Sep 24 - 3:59 PM

Mikhail Grabovski and Nikolai Kulemin will play together in a preseason game on Monday.

Islanders coach Jack Capuano hasn't guaranteed that Grabovski and Kulemin, who once shined together with the Toronto Maple Leafs, will end up playing together in New York. It looks like he's willing to at least test out the combination though. Cory Conacher will round out the line.
Sep 22 - 8:32 AM

Mikhail Grabovski has inked a four-year, $20 million contract with the New York Islanders.

Grabovski struggled in the second half of the 2013-14 campaign, in part due to injury, but he's capable of recording over 50 points per season. In New York, he'll likely serve as the team's second-line center behind John Tavares. That might cause Frans Nielsen to shift from center as he should also be on one of the Islanders' top two lines.
Jul 2 - 4:58 PM

Mikhail Grabovski will test the unrestricted free agent market.

No surprise there given that we're just over an hour away from the market opening, but if you needed early confirmation, then there you go. Grabovski's agent is claiming that about a dozen teams are interested in his client's services.
Jul 1 - 10:40 AM

Contract talks with Mikhail Grabovski have hit a bit of a wall, according to Washington GM Brian MacLellan.

He said "the money is a little bit prohibitive right now" and reports indicate that Grabovski is seeking around $5 million per season. MacLellan has spoken with Grabovski's agent, Gary Greenstin, a couple of times in Philadelphia at the draft. If the two sides can't bride the gap then Garbovski will walk as an unrestricted free agent next week.
Jun 28 - 4:47 PM

Mikhail Grabovski's agent, Gary Greenstin, believes the Washington Capitals will re-sign his client.

"I believe [management has] interest in Grabo," said Greenstin. "We have interest to stay in Washington. We'll see what's happening." He thinks that the Capitals want to keep Grabovski in the fold as well. He recorded 13 goals and 35 points in 58 games during the 2013-14 campaign.
