Coach Jack Capuano said that Mikhail Grabovski is not close to returning from a concussion.
While it appears that the remainder of the regular season is gone, it may be the playoffs as well for the center. He has been out since February 19 and has not started skating as of yet. Mar 28 - 10:03 AM

Mikhail Grabovski (concussion) isn't skating yet, according to Islanders coach Jack Capuano.

That contradicts a previous report that Grabovski has been skating on his own. If he's not skating yet, then we wouldn't be surprised if he misses the remainder of the regular season.
Mar 24 - 11:17 AM

Mikhail Grabovski (concussion) was able to skate on Thursday.

The hope is that Grabovski will return next week, but concussions are difficult to gauge so we would recommend taking any report of a timetable with a grain of salt. Grabovski hasn't played since Feb. 19.
Mar 20 - 11:07 AM

Mikhail Grabovski (upper body) has been placed on injured reserve.

He was nailed by Nashville's Eric Nystrom on a big hit Thursday and left the game with an upper-body injury. Grabovski has nine goals and 19 points in 51 contests during his first season with the Islanders.
Feb 20 - 6:29 PM

Mikhail Grabovski suffered an upper-body injury during the Islanders' 5-2 victory over Nashville Thursday night.

Grabovski was flattened by a hit from Eric Nystrom. The hit itself appeared to be clean, but at the same time it looked like there might have been incidental contact to Grabovski's head, raising concerns that he might have suffered a concussion. He's struggled this season with nine goals and 19 points in 51 games.
Feb 20 - 7:55 AM

Mikhail Grabovski scored a goal in the Islanders' 3-2 shootout win against Philadelphia.

Grabovski was held off the scoresheet in the Islanders' previous three games. He had been given a chance to play alongside John Tavares following Kyle Okposo's injury, but Grabovski instead played with Ryan Strome and Frans Nielsen on Thursday. Anders Lee took filled Okposo's skates on the first line instead.
Feb 6 - 10:18 AM

Mikhail Grabovski scored a goal in a 4-1 victory against the Rangers Tuesday night.

Grabovski was playing on a line with John Tavares because Kyle Okposo was unavailable. Okposo is expected to miss the next two months, so Grabovski could end up staying on the top line for the better part of the remaining season. With that in mind, he's not a bad player to gamble on in standard leagues despite his lackluster performance so far in 2014-15.
Jan 28 - 11:05 AM

Mikhail Grabovski (lower body) will be back in the Islanders' lineup on Tuesday.

Grabovski will be replacing Kyle Okposo (upper body), both in terms of his roster spot and his role in the lineup. Meaning Grabovski is projected to play alongside John Tavares. This is a big opportunity for Grabovski, who has just six goals and 14 points in 38 contests in 2014-15.
Jan 27 - 11:19 AM

Mikhail Grabovski (lower body) took part in Sunday's practice.

Grabovski has missed four consecutive contests due to the ailment. He has six goals and 14 points in 38 games this season.
Jan 19 - 10:58 AM

Mikhail Grabovski (lower body) was on the ice prior to Thursday's practice.

Grabovski isn't expected to play on Friday against the Pittsburgh Penguins. He might be back on Monday though.
Jan 16 - 9:24 AM

Mikhail Grabovski (lower body) didn't participate in Monday's practice.

Grabovski isn't expected to return to the Islanders' lineup on Tuesday. He has six goals and 14 points in 38 contests in 2014-15.
Jan 13 - 11:11 AM

Mikhail Grabovski will not play on Saturday after suffering a lower body injury on Friday.

The center has six goals this season with 14 points in 38 games. He started off with two goals and three points in his first three games this season so his fantasy value is negligible of late.
Jan 10 - 11:59 AM

Mikhail Grabovski left Friday's tilt with the Devils early after suffering a lower body injury.

Grabo played just 8:38 without registering anything on the score sheet before leaving during the second period.
Jan 9 - 9:03 PM

Mikhail Grabovski will start Friday's game on a line with John Tavares and Kyle Okposo.

Tavares and Okposo ended up playing with a number of different forwards on Tuesday as the team tried to bounce back in an eventual 3-2 loss. This new combination might not last long, but it should provide Grabovski with at least a short-term boost.
Jan 9 - 2:51 PM

Mikhail Grabovski scored his sixth goal of the year in a 3-2 loss to Vancouver on Tuesday.

Grabovski had gone ten straight games without a goal and has just three goals in his last 23 games. He was limited last season due to injuries and hasn't been able to get a on a role yet this season. He isn't a good fantasy option a team that doesn't really need his scoring to be successful. Matt Martin scored the other goal for the Islanders while Kyle Okposo was the only top line player to get a point (assist) in the loss.
