Jan Hejda had an assist in Thursday's defeat.

Hejda has nine points in 31 games. He's not worth owning in standard leagues, but has some value in leagues that count hits and blocked shots.

Defenseman Jan Hejda said on Monday that the Colorado Avalanche have lost their confidence.

It happened in the game against Edmonton and the Avs are on a four game losing streak starting with that game. "Everything starts with that loss to Edmonton. We lost confidence. Everybody is trying (not) to make a mistake," Hejda said. "D-zone coverage, we have no rhythm right now ... Four games in a row we've allowed four, five, six goals against. Not acceptable. I don't know. We have to simplify it, probably."

Jan Hejda recorded two assists in Colorado’s 3-2 overtime shootout loss to San Jose on Tuesday.

Hejda also played a team-high 24:51 minutes of ice-time and had four shots on goal in the contest. However, he has just five points in 17 games and has never been much of a threat offensively. Until he receives power play minutes, Hejda shouldn’t even be considered as a potential waiver wire acquisition.

Jan Hejda was a healthy scratch on Monday.

Just an FYI as Hejda has no fantasy value in traditional pools although he does pick up a lot of hits and blocked shots.

Jan Hejda will wait until November before deciding on whether or not to play in Europe.

Hejda underwent wrist surgery after the 2011-12 season and was expected to be ready for training camp. He played six seasons for Slavia Prague and was drafted in 2003 by the Sabres. "I cannot imagine I would play in the Czech hockey league somewhere else than in Slavia Prague. My heart belongs there," said Hejda.

Jan Hejda underwent wrist surgery after the 2011-12 season, but he is expected to be ready for training camp.

Hejda had 19 points 142 hits, 134 blocks and a minus-17 rating in 81 games with the Avalanche last year. His injury probably contributed in some way to Colorado signing defenseman Greg Zanon on the opening day of free agency as insurance.

Jan Hejda is available to return to the Colorado lineup Saturday against Los Angeles.

He had been out of action due to a groin injury. Of course, there is no telling if Hejda will actually dress for the contest as the Avs' have a very deep blueline playing quite well at the moment.

Jan Hejda scored a goal, was plus-three, and logged a team-high 23:18 minutes in Wednesday's 6-1 victory over New Jersey.

Hejda went into the contest with a team-worst minus-16 rating. "Plus-3 right now is big for me, feels better than the goal I scored," Hejda said. "Plus-3 feels unbelievable." Hejda only has fantasy value in very deep leagues or ones that use hits and blocked shots as categories.

Jan Hejda assisted on the game-tying goal in Colorado's 3-2 shootout win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Hejda said it didn't matter to him who the Avalanche got the two points off of, but the fact that it was his first game back in Columbus certainly adds to Wednesday's events. Hejda spent four seasons with the Blue Jackets, but he didn't like Columbus' proposed contract extension. Hejda, who signed with Colorado over the summer, said prior to the game that "it still pisses me off. When the offer came out, to be honest, I felt like I wasn’t respected here." For one game at least, Hejda made the Blue Jackets look bad for letting him go.

Jan Hejda will play in Columbus on Wednesday for the first time since his contract extension negotiations with the Blue Jackets broke down.

"I was disappointed," Hejda said. "To be honest, it still pisses me off. When the offer came out, to be honest, I felt like I wasn’t respected here. I did some work here for four years, and (the contract offer) was not close to what I was looking for." Hejda spent four seasons with Columbus, but he ended up inking a four-year contract with Colorado over the summer. We wouldn't be surprised if Hejda is particularly effective against his former team.

Jan Hejda is happy to be a member of the Colorado Avalanche this season.

Hejda signed quickly with the Avs after he became an unrestricted free agent on July 1. The former Columbus Blue Jacket will be paired on the top unit alongside Erik Johnson. "He's been in the league for a little while now, and we just mesh really well together," Johnson said. "I think we've found a little niche. He's actually surprised me with how much skill he has. If he's had a label, it's probably as a defensive defenseman, but he skates very well and moves the puck very well." This is great news for Johnson owners as he can be a more offensive player and take chances with the solid veteran Hejda beside him.
