Tobias Stephan kicked out 31 of 34 shots in Switzerland's 5-3 win over America.
Stephan hasn't played in the NHL since he recorded a 3.70 GAA and .870 save percentage in 10 games with the Dallas Stars in 2008-09. Switzerland made it all the way to the Quarterfinals last year, but they were not able to repeat that feat in 2011. Mon, May 9, 2011 12:58:00 PM

Tobias Stephan has signed with Geneva Servette of the Swiss Hockey League.

Stephan played in 10 games with the Dallas Stars last season, while serving as Marty Turco's understudy. In 11 career NHL games, he went 1-3-2 with an .883 save percentage and a 3.49 goals-against average.

It appears Tobias Stephan will serve as Matt Climie's backup until Marty Turco is healthy.

Stephan will not start in Saturday's game. Stars coach Dave Tippett opted to start Climie, feeling that he'll provide the team with a better chance of winning Saturday's game. It just seems to highlight what a low opinion Dallas has of Stephan. Even when Turco was struggling at the beginning of the season, Stephan almost never played. He's scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and the Stars will probably let him go.

Tobias Stephan is the probable starter on Saturday for the Dallas Stars.

Starting goaltender Marty Turco is doubtful because of a lower body injury. Stephan is coming off of a poor performance on Monday as he allowed six goals on 33 shots. Stay tuned.

Tobias Stephan was blasted for six goals in a loss to the Coyotes on Monday.

Not a great night for the youngster, as Dallas fell 6-5 in overtime. He turned aside 27 of 33 shots in just his fifth start of the season. His teammate, Marty Turco, has dropped six straight, so there is not much worthwhile going on in the Dallas crease these days.

Tobias Stephan will likely start in goal for the Stars on Monday in Phoenix.

If he gets the nod it will be his first start since March 1 against the Penguins. Stay tuned.

Tobias Stephan surrendered four goals in a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Penguins Sunday.

Stephan allowed four goals on 19 shots. It’s his first appearance since being recalled from the AHL on February 25th. It’s also Stephan’s first NHL game since early January. His record is 1-3.

Tobias Stephan was recalled by the Stars Tuesday.

Dallas reassigned Brent Krahn. Stephan went 4-0-1 in the minors and seems to have his confidence back. With Marty Turco in front of him, Stephan won't likely see much action at all down the stretch.

Tobias Stephan is expected to be recalled by the Stars on Tuesday.

Brent Krahn will be reassigned to the minors to make room. Stephan was sent down to the minors in order to give him some playing time, as Marty Turco has been a workhorse in the Stars' crease.

The Dallas Stars are expected to send Tobias Stephan to the minors on Friday in order to give him some playing time.

Stephan has played in only seven games this season and has received only three starts, so the Stars will keep him sharp with some minor league games. He should be recalled shortly.

Tobias Stephan could get a start in goal this weekend.

The Stars play three games in four nights and Marty Turco, who has started every game since Dec. 13, could probably use a rest. The only action that Stephan has seen since his last start was on Jan. 8 when he played a period against the Red Wings and allowed two goals in 15 shots. Stephan is 1-2 this season in seven outings with a 3.35 goals-against-average and a .887 save percentage. He should only be on your bench and only as insurance if you have Marty Turco.

Don't be surprised if Tobias Stephan gets the start in goal for Dallas on Sunday.

The Stars are playing the back half of back-to-back games and Stephan hasn't been given a start since Dec. 13. The Stars could still go with Marty Turco after he dropped a 4-1 decision to Vancouver, stopping only 15 of 19 shots. Stay tuned.

Tobias Stephan made his third start of the season but it was uneventful as the Predators blanked the Stars 3-0 on Saturday night.

Stephan kicked away 35 of the 37 shots that he faced during the contest but fell to 1-2-0 on the season. Marty Turco remains to be the number on guy in Dallas, so Stephan probably doesn't garner enough fantasy value to be owned in fantasy hockey pools.

Stars goalie Tobias Stephan allowed five goals in a 5-2 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.

Stephan faced 32 shots in the game. Th loss comes after a surprising win just two nights ago and should leave no doubt that despite his early season struggles, Marty Turco is number one goalie in Dallas. Turco should get the start tomorrow night.

Tobias Stephan is expected to play between the pipes on Friday.

Marty Turco will start in Saturday's game against the Boston Bruins. Stephan has a 2.73 GAA and .868 save percentage in three games this season.
