Matt Moulson earned an assist on Tyler Ennis' power-play goal against Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The tally was the only one in a 1-0 victory for the Sabres. Moulson has produced just four goals and 12 points in 28 games in 2014-15.
Dec 10 - 10:27 AM

Matt Moulson notched a goal in the Sabres’ 2-1 win over the Capitals on Saturday night.

The Sabres possess the league’s most futile offense, so it’s no wonder the goal was Moulson’s third of the season, and just his ninth point. On the bright side, he has six of those points over his last five games, so it’s definitely time to stick him in your lineup. Torrey Mitchell scored the other goal. Tyler Ennis, Zemgus Girgensons, Brian Gionta and Mike Weber got the assists.

It seems as if the Sabres' line shuffling helped a little.

At least Matt Moulson finally scored. He was teamed with Brian Gionta and Zemgus Girgensons against the Oiles and the line played fairly well. Tyler Ennis skated between Torey Mitchell and Chris Stewart and Cody Hodgson centered Drew Stafford and Nicolas Deslauriers against the Oilers. The alignment wasn't a complete success as Edmonton took 52 shots on goal, so expect Buffalo's lines to be re-shuffled.
Nov 8 - 9:35 AM

Matt Moulson scored his first goal of the season in Buffalo’s 3-2 loss to Edmonton on Friday night.

Moulson has been a consistent 30-goal scorer in the NHL, but he is off to a horrible start this season. The 31-year-old now has one goal and three points in 15 games. It’s hard to imagine Moulson being able to produce the way he did previously with the roster the Sabres are icing right now. His goal tonight was also his first point in eight games. Drew Stafford also scored for Buffalo.
Nov 7 - 9:57 PM

Matt Moulson has a seven-game pointless skid and no goals in 14 matches this season.

He hasn't been living up to his five-year, $25 million contract so far, but he still has plenty of time to turn it around. "It becomes a mental battle," Moulson said. "I'd be lying if I said I didn't lose a couple of nights sleep over this past little while. You have to keep working. It's amazing how a goal off your leg or your behind all of a sudden injects confidence into your game." Moulson has contributed just two assists and 24 shots.
Nov 6 - 10:02 AM

Sabres forward Matt Moulson was held off the scoresheet once again Tuesday as the Sabres were upended by Toronto by a score of 4-0.

The sniper has yet to score a goal all season and he was actually prevented from even recording a shot on goal in this disastrous defeat. No Sabres player registered more than one shot on goal in the loss.
Oct 29 - 2:51 AM

The Buffalo Sabres were shutout at home against the Florida Panthers on Friday night, losing 1-0.

The Sabres didn't muster any offense. Matt Moulson led the team with five shots on goal, but none beat Panthers' goaltender Roberto Luongo. The Sabres have now scored seven goals in five games so far this season. The long year continues for Buffalo. They may just be the favorite's to land Connor McDavid in the 2015 NHL draft.
Oct 17 - 9:49 PM

Matt Moulson has returned to the Sabres for five years and $25 million.

Moulson played on three teams last season and had some success in Buffalo even though he finished the season playing poorly for Minnesota. Moulson is a sharp shooter and will certainly play on the Sabres' top line and first power-play unit. We see him returning to a 30-35 goal level of production.
Jul 1 - 2:07 PM

Matt Moulson has probably played in his last game with the Minnesota Wild.

Moulson is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. The Wild acquired him from the Buffalo Sabres to give them a boost going into the playoffs, but Moulson ended up with just three points in 10 postseason games while averaging 14:59 minutes. Not exactly the type of numbers you want out of a player that will be presumably looking for a big payday.
Jun 15 - 10:14 AM

Matt Moulson had an oblique injury and a groin issue in the postseason.

"He was having a hard time moving," GM Chuck Fletcher said. Moulson tried to play through the ailments. He posted a goal and two assists in 10 games before sitting out the last three contests of Round 2. Moulson can become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
May 17 - 6:54 PM

Matt Moulson (lower body) skated on Tuesday morning, but he won't return in Game 6.

He also skated on Monday. Coach Mike Yeo said, "hopefully we take care of business," so a decision can come for Moulson's availability for Game 7 on Thursday. He hasn't played since the third game of the series.
May 13 - 1:10 PM

Matt Moulson (lower body) didn't travel with his teammates to Chicago for Game 5.

He's unlikely to play Sunday night as a result. Moulson missed Friday's contest as well because of a lower-body injury.
May 10 - 5:54 PM

Matt Moulson is dealing with a lower-body injury, according to coach Mike Yeo.

The Wild bench boss said Moulson is expected to stay off ice for a couple days. That means that he's likely to miss Friday's Game 4 meeting with the Chicago Blackhawks.
May 8 - 1:02 PM

Matt Moulson could be a healthy scratch Friday night in Game 4.

He didn't have a place on Minnesota's top-four lines during Thursday's practice. Matt Cooke, who is set to return from his seven-game suspension, skated on the third line alongside Erik Haula and Justin Fontaine in Moulson's place. He has recorded just one goal and two assists in 10 playoff games with the Wild. There's also the possibility that Moulson could be playing hurt and Cooke's return will give Minnesota a chance to rest him for a game.
