Curtis McElhinney stopped 34 of 37 shots in Sunday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Rangers.

The night got off to a rough start for McElhinney, who allowed three goals in the first 21:24 of the game. He settled in nicely after that and the Blue Jackets were able to battle back from a three-goal deficit to force OT. Unfortunately for Columbus, McElhinney allowed two goals on three shootout attempts. The 31-year-old has a 10-10-2 record with a 2.69 goals-against-average and a .918 save percentage.
Feb 22 - 10:31 PM

Curtis McElhinney will get the start versus the New York Rangers on Sunday night.

McElhinney owns 10-10-1 record through 21 starts and 25 games this season, he owns an impressive .918 save percentage and 2.68 GAA despite his and his team's struggles. He has just 20 career minutes of action versus the Rangers, making 15 of 16 saves.
Feb 22 - 6:43 PM

Curtis McElhinney gave up two goals on 23 shots in the Blue Jackets’ 3-1 loss to Montreal on Saturday night.

The final goal came from Tomas Plekanec, who scored on the empty net with the Canadiens shorthanded. Despite the loss, McElhinney has posted at least a .913 save percentage in three games in a row. He has a 2.68 goals-against average and .918 save percentage this season. Columbus can’t be complaining about that.
Feb 21 - 10:19 PM

Coach Todd Richards said that Curtis McElhinney will be between the pipes on Saturday.

With Sergei Bobrovsky likely returning to the lineup next week, this may be one of your last chances to get McElhinney in your fantasy lineup. The netminder is 10-9-1 this season with a 2.71 GAA and a .918 save percentage, but has been stellar in his last six as he is 5-1 with a 1.99 GAA and a .943 save percentage. The Blue Jackets take on the Montreal Canadiens.
Feb 21 - 6:58 AM

Curtis McElhinney stole the show Thursday night making 29 saves and allowing just one goal from Evgeni Malkin behind him in a 2-1 win over rival Pittsburgh.

It's the third straight win for the 31-year-old and the last two have been impressive to save the least. Coming off a 42-save win over the Flyers on Tuesday, the Jackets' de facto starter stymied Crosby and co. all night long to help his team sweep their Pennsylvania tour. McElhinney is 10-9-1 this season with a .918 save percentage and 2.71 goals against average.
Feb 19 - 10:44 PM

McElhinney will get the start versus the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night.

With a 9-9-1 record and a 2.80 GAA and save percentage of .915, McElhinney is beginning to inspire confidence with four wins in his past five starts. Unfortunately, Mac is winless in four career starts against the Penguins, each with Columbus, with 11 goals against.
Feb 19 - 5:24 PM

Curtis McElhinney was superb on Tuesday as he stopped 42 of 44 shots in a 5-2 win over the Flyers.

The stand-in for starter Sergei Bobrovsky has now won four of his last five starts and has looked good in the process, raising his record to 9-9-1 on the year. Thanks to his recent hot streak, he has also improved his GAA to 2.80 and his save percentage to .915.
Feb 17 - 10:00 PM

Curtis McElhinney will get the start against the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night.

McElhinney comes in with an 8-9-1 record with 54 goals against over 22 games. And in nine starts since the turn of the calendar, Mac has just two starts where he allowed fewer than three goals. You may want to find a more favorable matchup tonight.
Feb 17 - 5:27 PM

Cutis McElhinney stopped 22 of 25 shots in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over Philadelphia.

The 31-year-old has been forced into regular duty with starter Sergei Bobrovsky out because of a groin injury. McElhinney has now won three of his last four games and he has made his overall numbers respectable in the process. He has a 8-9-1 record with a 2.84 goals-against-average and a .913 save percentage. Even with the increased workload, McElhinney still doesn't have much fantasy appeal.
Feb 13 - 10:04 PM

Curtis McElhinney will be between the pipes on Friday against Philadelphia.

Coach Todd Richards hasn't decided who will start Saturday's game versus the New York Islanders yet. McElhinney posted two wins for the Blue Jackets last weekend in a back-to-back situation.
Feb 12 - 5:06 PM

Blue Jackets goalie Curtis McElhinney had a good game in a losing effort Monday night.

Columbus lost to the visiting Los Angeles Kings 4-3 but McElhinney turned aside 40 of the 44 shots he faced and was by no means the reason for the outcome. McElhinney is now 7-9-1 on the season but he is 6-3 in his past nine starts. His goals-against average is 2.84 and his save percentage, .914. McElhinney will continue to start for Columbus partly because he's playing well and partly because first-string goalie Sergie Bobrovsky is out with a groin injury for another two weeks, at least.
Feb 9 - 10:09 PM

Curtis McElhinney will be in net for the Blue Jackets Monday night against the Kings.

McElhinney has been red hot recently posting a 6-2-0 record with a 2.15 goals-against average and .933 save percentage in his last eight starts. He has yet to face the Kings this season but in five career appearances versus them, he has a 1-1-1 record, 2.16 goals-against-average, and .920 save percentage. With Sergei Bobrovsky out another two weeks at minimum, look for McElhinney to pick up the slack in net for Columbus.
Feb 9 - 5:12 PM

Curtis McElhinney has stepped up since Sergei Bobrovsky suffered a groin injury.

McElhinney has a 3-2-0 record, 2.21 GAA, and .933 save percentage since Bobrovsky was hurt on Jan. 21. With Bobrovsky expected to miss at least another two weeks, McElhinney isn't a bad stopgap option for fantasy owners.
Feb 9 - 5:01 AM

Curtis McElhinney stopped 34 shots in the Blue Jackets’ 4-1 win against the Senators on Saturday night.

McElhinney was about 10 minutes away from a shutout. He has had the tough task of filling in as the top netminder for a team that gives up the third-most shots in the NHL. All things considered, while he’s not a number one, he hasn’t been that bad this season. McElhinney sports a 2.77 goals-against average and .915 save percentage.
