Curtis McElhinney will be the Blue Jackets' starter Thursday night.

McElhinney will be looking for his first win of the 2015-16 campaign. He has a 2.58 GAA and .912 save percentage in five contests.
Nov 19 - 12:11 PM

Curtis McElhinney was good, but not good enough as he turned away 30 of 33 shots in Friday's 4-2 loss to Anaheim.

A couple of weird, unfortunate bounces to pull him out of position, and a puck he definitely should've stopped all conspired to thwart was a good effort by McElhinney. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean much in fantasy nor the real world. McElhinney is now winless in three starts and five games, with 10 goals against.
Nov 7 - 12:54 AM

Curtis McElhinney will be Columbus' starter on Friday against the Anaheim Ducks.

McElhinney has a 2.40 GAA and .913 save percentage in four contests this season. He played in parts of two seasons with Anaheim so this is a reunion of sorts for him.
Nov 6 - 3:00 PM

Curtis McElhinney stopped all 16 shots the Jets threw at him during his relief effort in Saturday's 3-2 loss.

McElhinney began the second period with the Blue Jackets down 3-1, and he did what every backup aims to do, jolt his team and give them a chance to win. However considering his career numbers, we still wouldn't advise you picking him up.
Nov 1 - 12:57 AM

Curtis McElhinney replaced Sergei Bobrovsky to begin the second period in Saturday's tilt with Winnipeg.

Bobrovsky allowed three stoppable goals on 11 shots to kick off the game, forcing Coach Tortorella's hand to make the switch.
Oct 31 - 8:16 PM

Curtis McElhinney allowed three goals on 28 shots in Tuesday’s 4-0 loss to the Islanders.

The Blue Jackets now fall to 0-7-0 on the season. They will now begin a four game road trip so things won’t get any easier. McElhinney now falls to 0-2-0 and he has a 3.07 goals-against-average to go along with a .891 save percentage.
Oct 20 - 10:13 PM

Curtis McElhinney will get the call for Columbus again on Tuesday night.

He will face the New York Islanders in his second consecutive start. Coach Todd Richards liked what he saw from McElhinney in Saturday's loss to Chicago, so Sergei Bobrovsky will have to wait another game to try to get back on track.
Oct 20 - 5:20 PM

Curtis McElhinney made 26 saves in the Blue Jackets’ 4-1 loss to the Blackhawks on Saturday night.

The final goal came with the net empty. It doesn’t matter who is in goal at this point. The Blue Jackets are 0-6 and they look like a mess. They have given up 30 goals and have scored 13 of their own. McElhinney has a 3.04 GAA and .889 SV%. Sergei Bobrovsky has been worse, so it wouldn't be surprising to see McElhinney get a run of starts this week.
Oct 17 - 11:23 PM

Curtis McElhinney will be in net on Saturday night against the Blackhawks.

Columbus is still seeking their first win of the season, and have surrendered 24 goals in five games thus far. Though McElhinney has only offered one of those goals this season, he's a career backup with a .905 save percentage and a 2.95 GAA. You may want to find a more favorable matchup.
Oct 17 - 7:30 PM

Coach Todd Richards has yet to decide who will get the start in net for Columbus Saturday.

Curtis McElhinney has yet to make a start for the Jackets this season although he did see action for a period when he gave up a goal on six shots in relief of Sergei Bobrovsky. Bobrovsky has struggled mightily this season, losing all five games with a 5.07 GAA and a .835 save percentage so it could be time to give the net to McElhinney.
Oct 17 - 6:38 AM

Curtis McElhinney allowed five goals on 36 shots in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues.

These two teams played a pair of split-squad games on Tuesday. Columbus won one by a score of 3-1 but they dropped this one. McElhinney did have to face some of St. Louis' better players like Vladimir Tarasenko, Paul Stasty, Alex Steen and Alex Pietrangelo but his early preseason performance is definitely disappointing. He should go into the season as Sergei Bobrovsky's backup goaltender but if something were to happen to Columbus' starter, they would be in serious trouble. You can ignore McElhinney in all fantasy leagues.
Sep 22 - 11:45 PM

Curtis McElhinney has inked a two-year contract extension with Columbus.

His new deal will pay $800,000 next season and in 2016-17. McElhinney posted a 12-14-2 record last season to go with a .914 save percentage and a 2.88 goals-against average. He will continue to serve as Sergei Bobrovsky's backup.
Jun 24 - 3:22 PM

Curtis McElhinney made 48 saves in the Blue Jackets’ 5-4 shootout win against the Islanders on Saturday night.

McElhinney made up for all the time in between starts — he hadn’t gotten into a game since March 18 — with all the action in this one. He’s still nothing more than a backup. McElhinney had a 2.88 goals-against average and .914 save percentage this season.
Apr 11 - 10:42 PM

Curtis McElhinney will get the season finale on Saturday night against the New York Islanders.

McElhinney comes in owning an 11-14-2 record with a .913 save percentage and a 2.84 GAA through 31 games this season. Though his three career starts versus the Islanders all came while with the Anaheim Ducks, McElhinney is 2-1 with a shutout and four goals against on 53 combined shots.
