Curtis McElhinney will face the Flyers on Saturday night.

Unfortunately there's never been a time where McElhinney has been an advisable goalie option, unless your league rewards goals against and losses. Through a myriad of injuries this season the veteran netminder is 2-6-3 in 17 games with 60 goals against.

Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Curtis McElhinney has left Saturday's game due to what appears to be a left knee injury.

McElhinney slipped in his crease, leaving his left knee behind him. Third string goalie Anton Forsberg has entered the game. To make matters worse, coach John Tortorella said Forsberg hadn't yet received his pads as of this morning. Forsberg might not be playing in his own padding. The injury to McElhinney could not come at a worse time as news broke out that Sergei Bobrovsky aggravated his groin injury and was placed on injured reserve this morning. The Blue Jackets might be forced to turn to their third string goaltender for the considerable future.

Jan 2 - 12:02 PM

Curtis McElhinney stopped 39 of 42 shots in a 6-3 win over the visiting Dallas Stars on Tuesday.

This marks the best game of the season for McElhinney and just his second win. Even after a great performance tonight, he should not be on any fantasy rosters. The win improves his record to 2-6-2 in 14 games this season.
