The San Jose Sharks can buy out winger Adam Burish after he cleared waivers on Saturday.
Burish managed three points in 20 games when he managed to play at the NHL level last season. His $1.85 million cap hit will expire after the 2015-16 season, but it appears that Sharks would rather eat some of that and get rid of his contract earlier. Sat, Jun 20, 2015 01:42:00 PM

The San Jose Sharks have put Adam Burish on unconditional waivers.

If Burish clears, then the Sharks will likely buy him out. He has one year left on his contract and comes with a $1.85 million cap hit. Burish spent most of the 2014-15 campaign in the minors, but when he was with San Jose he had a goal and three points in 20 games.

The Sharks might opt to buy out Adam Burish over the summer.

San Jose already tried placing him on waivers, but there were no takers. Burish still has one year left on his contract with a cap hit of $1.85 million. He had a goal and three points in 20 contests in 2014-15.

The San Jose Sharks put winger Adam Burish on waivers on Saturday.

Aside from penalty minutes (33 in 20 games), Burish doesn't provide a whole lot of value in fantasy. Still, he's played enough games this season that it's at least noteworthy. The Sharks continue to struggle mightily lately.

Adam Burish won't be in San Jose's lineup on Thursday.

The Sharks are hosting the Florida Panthers. San Jose has made Burish a healthy scratch for this game. The 31-year-old has three points in 20 games this season.

Adam Burish (hand) isn't expected to play again during the regular season, but he could return during the playoffs.

He underwent surgery Wednesday to insert two pins in two fingers in his left hand after he blocked a shot against Edmonton on Tuesday. Burish missed the start of the 2013-14 campaign because of a procedure on his back, so he's been limited to just 15 games this year.

Burish isn't expected to be available anytime soon, but beyond that the Sharks haven't provided many details about his status. He had already missed most of the 2013-14 campaign due to a back injury he sustained during the preseason.

Adam Burish suffered a gruesome hand injury while blocking a shot on Tuesday.

Burish immediately left the game as a result. There wasn't a timetable made immediately available for his return, but it wouldn't be surprising if he ended up being sidelined for quite some time.

Adam Burish (back) is ready to make his season debut on Wednesday.

Burish underwent surgery after he was hurt during San Jose's preseason opener. This is great news for the Sharks, but we can't recommend picking him up in standard leagues.

Adam Burish (back) should make his season debut before the Olympic break.

Burish needed surgery after suffering the injury during the Sharks' preseason opener. He's a defensive forward that chips in occasionally offensively, but not nearly enough to be worth owning in standard league.

Adam Burish (lower body) is still unable to skate.

Burish suffered a lower body injury during the Sharks first preseason game and has not been on skates since. Everytime he gets close to returning to the ice, he suffers a setback. "He just about gets there, and the next time he gets there, it's just about keeping it there," coach Todd McLellan said. Burish skated in 46 games with the Sharks last season, where he recorded three points, 65 hits and 25 penalty minutes. He is out indefinitely at this time.
