Ondrej Pavelec allowed four goals on 29 shots Tuesday as the Jets were beaten by Pittsburgh by a score of 5-3.
Pavelec has done nothing of late to bridge the gap between himself and Michael Hutchinson and stands to watch a number of games from the bench in the near future. His record falls to 12-11-6 on the year while his GAA rises to 2.52 and his save percentage drops to .911. Jan 27 - 9:48 PM

Ondrej Pavelec will face the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night.

Pavelec comes in with a 12-10-6 record, a 2.47 GAA and a .913 save percentage through 30 appearances this season. Since the beginning of December, a span of 10 starts, he's 4-2-4 with 30 goals against. However, the Jets do lead Calgary for the first Wild Card by seven points, and trail Chicago and St. Louis in the Central by just a pair. Which makes him starting tonight all the more confusing, beware of the Kladno native.
Jan 27 - 5:38 PM

Ondrej Pavelec stopped 28 of 31 shots in Sunday's 4-3 shootout win over Arizona.

Pavelec also stopped all three of Arizona's shooters in the shootout. The 27-year-old has now won back-to-back starts. The Jets are on a four-game winning streak, but they have an interesting goaltending situation on their hands. Michael Hutchinson has arguably been the better of the two goaltenders this season, but he and Pavelec will probably split starts down the stretch. Pavelec is now 12-10-6 with a 2.47 goals-against-average and a .913 save percentage.
Jan 18 - 10:22 PM

Ondrej Pavelec will get the start Sunday against the Arizona Coyotes.

If the Jets win and Blackhawks lose in regulation tonight, the Jets will be able to take over third place in the Pacific because they own the tie-breaker. They'll also trail idle St. Louis by just a pair, and idle Nashville for the top slot by four points. In eight career starts against the Coyotes, Pavelec is 5-2-1 with just 16 goals against.
Jan 18 - 5:25 PM

Ondrej Pavelec was masterful in the Jets' goal on Thursday night, making 46 saves on 47 shots to lead the team to a hard-fought 2-1 win over the Dallas Stars.

Pavelec snapped an ugly slump in which he went winless in his past four games and allowed four goals in each loss. The 27-year-old rebounded in a big way on Thursday under heavy attack from the Stars but did not give in. Pavelec improves to 11-10-6 this season with a .913 save percentage and 2.46 goals against average.
Jan 16 - 12:49 AM

Ondrej Pavelec is expected to start for Winnipeg Thursday against Dallas.

He hasn't won his past four outings (0-2-2) and he's allowed four goals in each of those games.
Jan 15 - 4:36 PM

Ondrej Pavelec stopped 39 of 43 shots in Sunday's 5-4 shootout loss to Anaheim.

The Jets had a 4-2 heading into the third period, but they were unable to hold on for the win. Ducks' forward Rickard Rakell beat Pavelec with 2:03 remaining in the game to force overtime. Pavelec is now winless in his last four starts (0-2-2) and his record now falls to 10-10-6 this season. Some would argue that Jets' backup goaltender Michael Hutchinson is the better of the two goalies right now.
Jan 12 - 1:02 AM

Ondrej Pavelec will make one start this weekend but it is unclear which one.

The Jets play in back-to-back games Saturday and Sunday against the Kings and Ducks respectively. Michael Hutchinson will likely start one of those games with Pavelec starting the other. Now word on which way it's going to go yet.
Jan 10 - 2:23 PM

Ondrej Pavelec was only able to stop 26-30 as the Jets fell to the Coyotes 4-1 on Thursday night.

Sixty-four pucks have now made their way past Pavelec through his 27 games so far this season. Only one of them one Thursday night can be argued wasn't his fault. Fortunately, the Jets still sit two points ahead of Calgary, and four points of Dallas for the final Wild Card slot in the West.
Jan 9 - 2:11 AM

Ondrej Pavelec will get the nod for Winnipeg on Thursday versus Arizona.

Michael Hutchinson has been between the pipes for five of the Jets' last six games. Pavelec has a 10-9-5 record to go with a .911 save percentage and a 2.40 goals-against average. Coach Paul Maurice hasn't decided who will play on Saturday in Los Angeles or Sunday in Anaheim.
Jan 7 - 4:42 PM

Ondrej Pavelec stopped only 28-32 shots in the 5-2 loss to Islanders on Wednesday night.

While Ryan Strome and Frans Nielsen's goals to open the scoring in the first were about as lucky as it gets, Pavelec must stop Nielsen's goal in the second and Anders Lee's in the third. Both goals reasserted the Isles' two-goal lead after Captain Andrew Ladd had brought it to just one. Fortunately for the Jets this game won't make or break their season.

Ondrej Pavelec will be between the pipes for the Jets Wednesday night against the Islanders.

Believe it or not, the Jets sit just two points behind the Blues for third place in the Central division. With a two point lead over the Sharks and Flames for the first Wild Card slot, Pavelec will probably have to improve on his .913 save percentage and 2.34 GAA in order to improve their playoff prospects.

Ondrej Pavelec allowed four goals on 23 shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to Philadelphia.

The Jets went into the third period with a 3-1 lead over the Flyers, but they couldn't hold on for the win. Pavelec has not lost a game in regulation since November 23rd (3-0-3). It's hard to trust either of Winnipeg's goaltenders because it looks like both Pavelec and Michael Hutchinson will continue to share time in goal. Pavelec's record falls to 10-8-5 on the season.
Sun, Dec 21, 2014 11:52:00 PM

Ondrej Pavelec will start Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The 27-year-old is 10-8-4 this season with a 2.27 goals-against-average and a .916 save percentage. The goalie rotation continues in Winnipeg.
Sun, Dec 21, 2014 12:39:00 PM

Look for Winnipeg to continue it's alternating goalie rotation.

That means that Ondrej Pavelec will get the start Sunday night against the Flyers. Michael Hutchinson has been outstanding as Pavelec's partner in the Jets' net but will get the night off after playing in Winnipeg's last game. As both Pavelec and Hutchinson are very capable NHL goalies we expect the job share to continue well into the new year before coach Paul Maurice settles on a single netminder.
