As a reminder, that the Rangers will have Ondrej Pavelec in goal Saturday night when they face the Devils.

It will be Pavelec's first start as Ranger after coming over from the Winnipeg Jets in the offseason. Pavelec has one relief appearance this season and sports a 0-1-0 record with a 4.67 and an .875 save percentage.
Oct 14 - 10:16 AM

Ondrej Pavelec will be the Rangers' starter on Sunday.

It will be Pavelec's first start with New York. He's coming off a difficult 2016-17 campaign where he posted a 3.55 GAA and .888 save percentage in eight games with Winnipeg.
Oct 7 - 5:21 PM

Ondrej Pavelec will make his Rangers debut on Monday night.

The Rangers will take on the Islanders and it'll be the first time Pavelec dresses for his new team. Pavelec will open the season as Henrik Lundqvist's backup, and he won't see much action unless Lundqvist gets hurt. The 30-year-old played just eight games with the Jets last season. He had 4-4-0 record with a 3.55 goals-against-average and a .888 save percentage.

Ondrej Pavelec has signed a one-year, $1.3 million deal with the Rangers.

The Rangers are in need of a solid number two goalie having lost a number of backups to starter Henrik Lundqvist over the past few seasons including Cam Talbot and now Antti Raanta to Arizona. It remains to be seen if Pavelec can still be an effective NHL netminder after a number of mediocre campaigns in Winnipeg, including 2016-17 in which he toiled in the AHL for the majority of the season and posted a 4-4-0 record with a 3.55 goals-against average and an .888 save percentage in eight NHL games.
Jul 1 - 12:37 PM

There's a good chance Ondrej Pavelec will sign with the New York Rangers.

The move makes sense, as New York traded reliable backup goalie Antti Raanta to the Arizona Coyotes. They'll need someone to serve as Henrik Lundqvist's backup and it sure sounds like that'll be Pavelec. The former Winnipeg Jet spent a good chunk of the season in the AHL in 2016-17. He had a 4-4-0 record with a 3.55 goals-against-average and an .888 save percentage in eight NHL games last season.
Jul 1 - 8:50 AM

It sounds like the Winnipeg Jets won't re-sign Ondrej Pavelec.

That's not surprising given that Pavelec posted a 3.55 GAA and .888 save percentage in just eight games this season. A combination of health problems and time in the minors contributed to Pavelec's lack of playing time with Winnipeg.
Apr 10 - 6:18 PM

Ondrej Pavelec had his knee scoped on Monday morning.

He is expected to be sidelined for two-to-four weeks. Pavelec has not been officially shut down for the rest of the season, but he may not play again for Jets by the time he recovers as he can become an unrestricted free agent in the summer.
Mar 6 - 12:59 PM

Ondrej Pavelec (lower body) isn't listed on injured reserve anymore.

He was a healthy scratch on Friday when Connor Hellebuyck blanked St. Louis. It's unclear right now who will start Saturday, but it wouldn't be surprising if Hellebuyck got rewarded with another start even though Pavelec is available to return.
Mar 4 - 4:05 PM

Ondrej Pavelec, who has been on IR with a lower body injury since Feb. 7, declared himself "100 percent healthy" after practice on Thursday.

Winnipeg plays the next two days, hosting the Blues on Friday before the Avalanche on Saturday. It would seem he's on the cusp of returning to the Jets' net. He's 4-4 with 26 goals against and an .888 save percentage.
Mar 2 - 2:12 PM

Ondrej Pavelec (lower body) took part in Monday's practice.

Pavelec hasn't played since Feb. 7. The Jets will re-evaluate him on Tuesday based on how he responds to going through Monday's morning skate.
Feb 27 - 2:11 PM

Ondrej Pavelec (lower body) will travel with the team.

Winnipeg starts a four-game road trip at Pittsburgh on Thursday. However, it's still unclear when Pavelec will be ready to return from a lower-body injury. He has missed the last three games.
Feb 15 - 12:40 PM

Ondrej Pavelec (lower body) has been placed on injured reserve.

He skated on his own Monday morning and an update on his status is expected to come later this week. Pavelec hasn't played since Feb. 7 due to a lower-body injury.
Feb 14 - 11:14 AM

Coach Paul Maurice is hopeful that Ondrej Pavelec will only be out for "about a week" with a lower body injury.

Through eight games with the Jets this season he's gone 4-4 with an .888 save percentage and 26 goals against. The Jets will host the Blackhawks and the Lightning on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Connor Hellebuyck will almost assuredly get the first start, and possibly the second too.
Feb 9 - 2:07 PM

Ondrej Pavelec (lower body) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice.

There was no update on his status after he pulled himself from Tuesday's game versus Minnesota because of a lower-body injury.
