The Nashville Predators are definitely taking a risk here, but it's a calculated one. Josi has plenty of upside and could, along with Shea Weber, provide the Nashville Predators with a great one-two punch defensively in the same way that Nashville used to have with Weber and Ryan Suter. In fact, Josi could end up flirting with the 40-point mark next season. That said, this is a major commitment to make on a player that only has 100 games worth of NHL experience. It looks like the Predators aren't going to re-sign Chris Mason, who is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in July. "It didn’t work out the way we had scripted it when he signed," Predators GM David Poile said. "First of all, we scripted an 82-game schedule with lots of opportunities to play. Then we get into a 48-game schedule, Pekka gets all the games we thought would be designated to Chris, and we had nothing to show for it.
