The New Jersey Devils will part ways with a few free-agents including Peter Harrold.

"We're not going forward right now with any of them," General Manager Ray Shero said. "I've notified their agents that they're going to July 1. I talked to Scott Gomez's agent and we're not going to go be going in that direction. Bernier, we're going to July 1 and just see what's out there. Fraser the same thing and Harrold likely the same thing."

Peter Harrold might serve as a right winger on Friday.

That's not something new for Harrold, even though his natural position is defense. If he does play as a right winger, then it will likely be on the fourth line.

Peter Harrold was added to lineup as Lou Lamoriello has decided to go with seven defenders against the Blue Jackets on Tuesday night.

The pairs will be: Andy Greene with Adam Larsson; Jon Merrill with Damon Severson; Mark Fraser with Eric Gelinas; and Peter Harrold is expected to serve as the swing man. He could be used up front as well. Harrold has three points, 29 hits, and 36 blocks in 32 games this season.

Peter Harrold scored a goal in New Jersey's 3-1 loss to Chicago on Friday night.

Harrold opened the scoring at the 15:30 mark of the first period and that score held until the third period. The Blackhawks opened up the machine in the final frame and scored three unanswered goals to defeat the Devils. This was only Harold's second goal of the year and his first since November 28th. The 31-year-old has three points in 26 games this season. He obviously has no value in standard fantasy leagues.

Peter Harrold will be a healthy scratch for the Devils Wednesday night against Toronto.

Harrold hasn’t cracked the lineup since January 16th in Anaheim and has just one goal and zero assists in 19 games this season. His minus 11 rating has really hurt his chances at getting back in the Devils lineup going forward unless there is an injury on the blue line.
