Frans Nielsen expressed his excitement on the Isles' offseason moves on Thursday after practice, saying that there will be increased competition for ice time with the new free-agent signings.
"I really like what we did," Nielsen said of the Mikhail Grabovski and Nikolai Kulemin signings. "I think we're going to be a really tough team to match up against because we'll have so much offensive firepower, so many guys who can step up and do it." The Isles had a few capable offensive players last season, but after John Tavares and Kyle Okposo, not many produced points consistently. With a 58 point breakout year last season, Nielsen and the newcomers will try and make the Isles a more dangerous offensive team beyond the first line. Sep 4 - 8:15 PM
