Andy Greene (wrist) practiced on Saturday and could return Tuesday.

Greene was injured when he took a puck off his wrist on a shot by Jordan Staal January 3. He will miss his sixth straight game Sunday. "It’s getting better but it’s still not there yet but it does feel better each day," Greene said. "But it does feel better each day. Hopefully it continues to make progress and hopefully it’s sooner rather than later. The swelling is starting to go down now, that’s good. It’s trying to get it close, not 100 percent but functional so I can play." Greene has nine points with 33 hits and 78 blocked shots this season so he has some fantasy value in certain pools.
Jan 15 - 9:25 AM

Andy Greene (arm) has been placed on injured reserve.

He is retroactive to Jan. 3 and will travel with the team. That way if he is ready to return then he can be activated and step into the lineup.
Jan 10 - 1:23 PM

Andy Greene (arm) will travel with the Devils on their upcoming four-game road trip.

Greene missed his third straight contest on Monday. It's not clear if he has a shot of playing on Thursday in Edmonton, but the fact that he's joining the team on the road is obviously an encouraging sign.
Jan 10 - 4:43 AM

Andy Greene (upper body) skated on his own Monday morning.

"He skated today, we'll see how he is," coach John Hynes said. "We'd like to be able to bring him on the trip but I can't guarantee it at this point." He will sit for a third straight contest on Monday night versus Florida.
Jan 9 - 6:06 PM

Andy Greene (upper body) won't play Saturday against Edmonton nor Monday against Florida.

The Devils' captain has posted nine points with 33 hits and 78 blocks in 39 games this season. The absence will mark three straight games on the sidelines for him. He'll be re-evaluated after Monday's match.
Jan 7 - 5:32 PM

Andy Greene (upper body) is doubtful to play Saturday against Edmonton.

His consecutive games played streak ended at 350 on Friday night due to an upper-body injury.
Jan 7 - 8:57 AM

Andy Greene (upper body) won't be able to play on Friday.

That will bring an end to Greene's iron-man streak at 350 consecutive games. He's also likely to miss Saturday's contest.
Jan 6 - 11:55 AM

Andy Greene's (upper body) chances of playing on Friday are 50-50, per Devils coach John Hynes.

Greene wasn't able to participate in Thursday's morning skate. Still, the call will be made based on how Greene feels on Friday. He's played in 350 consecutive games.
Jan 5 - 4:17 PM

Andy Greene (wrist) didn't skate with the Devils on Thursday.

As previously reported, Greene might not be available for Friday's game. The Devils have already summoned Seth Helgeson as an insurance policy.
Jan 5 - 12:51 PM

Andy Greene (wrist) is questionable for Friday's game.

Greene was initially thought to have an eye issue from a deflected shot on Tuesday, but that has been ruled out. Instead his problem might be around his wrist. The Devils summoned Seth Helgeson, who will likely play if Greene can't.
Jan 5 - 10:57 AM

Andy Greene left Tuesday's game against the Hurricanes after taking a puck to the eye.

Jordan Staal's shot deflected off of Greene's stick and struck him in the eye. He has been ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Jan 3 - 9:18 PM

Andy Greene recorded an assist in New Jersey's 5-1 loss to Nashville on Tuesday.

Greene has three goals and eight points in 32 contests in 2016-17. He's a big part of the Devils' defense, but he is not a significant asset in standard fantasy leagues.

Devils captain Andy Greene scored his third goal of the season during Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over the Predators.

Certainly not known for his scoring prowess, he's now up to seven points in 24 games thus far. At the least, he should hit double-digits points for the eighth straight year.

Andy Greene scored a big penalty shot goal in Friday's 2-1 overtime win over the Buffalo Sabres.

It took Greene just 29 seconds to end the game in the extra frame. He got a penalty shot because he was held by Sabres forward Evander Kane while on a breakaway. The 34-year-old had no goals in his first 10 games this season, but he's now put the puck in the net twice in his last three contests. Despite the recent spike in production, Greene won't carry any fantasy value going forward.
