Krys Barch tumbled headfirst into the boards on a hit by Philadelphia's Daniel Briere, but he returned to the game and finished it Wednesday night.
"He just kind of caught me there, adjusted my neck for me," Barch joked. "I've been hit harder with a fist than that." Barch has no points and 44 penalty minutes in 20 games this campaign. Mar 14 - 10:48 AM

Krys Barch is looking forward to making his Devils debut on Friday.

Barch inked a two-year deal with New Jersey over the summer. He's projected to play alongside Stefan Matteau and Jacob Josefson on the Devils' fourth line.

Krys Barch could make his New Jersey debut on Friday after being a healthy scratch for the club's opening two games of the year.

He skated on the fourth line with Jacob Josefson and Stefan Matteau during Thursday's practice. Cam Janssen has been occupying that spot so far and it's presently unclear if coach Pete DeBoer wants to tinker with his lineup.
Jan 24 - 4:20 PM

Krys Barch was a healthy scratch Saturday night against the New York Islanders.

Barch had five points and 114 penalty minutes in 51 games last season. His fantasy value is highly limited obviously even in leagues that use penalty minutes as a scoring category.
Jan 20 - 11:09 AM

Krys Barch did not practice on Thursday because of a groin injury.

His status for Saturday night's opener on Long Island is unclear at this time. If he isn't ready to go then he could start the year on injured reserve to give the Devils some roster flexibility.

New Jersey Devils' tough guy Krys Barch took to Twitter Saturday night to write a passionate saga railing NHL owners for wanting to reduce the players' salaries.

The rant is a must read. An emotional, heartfelt and engaging opinion from the mind of a blue collar NHL player who sacrifices his health and body night after night to play the game he loves. Check out @KrysBarch on Twitter.

Krys Barch might serve on the Devils' third line in 2012-13

Barch had five points and 114 penalty minutes in 51 games last season. A regular spot on the third line would certainly be an upgrade for him and might result in a modest boost in offensive production.

The Devils have signed Krys Barch to a two-year contract.

He registered five points and 114 penalty minutes in 51 games between Dallas and Florida last campaign. He should provide the team with toughness and a willingness to drop the gloves when he gets a chance to dress.

Krys Barch is slated for unrestricted free agency this July.

He joined the Panthers from Dallas in a trade back in December, in order to protect his more talented teammates, but became a spectator down the stretch. Barch was scratched for seven of the last eight regular season games and all seven of Florida's playoff contests. In 41 games with the Panthers, he had five points and 91 penalty minutes.

Krys Barch registered his first assist of 2011-12 on Friday.

Barch has two points and 78 penalty minutes in 25 contests in 2011-12. He's averaged 7:36 minutes per game this season and that number isn't likely to go up much in the second half.

Krys Barch netted his first goal of the season on Friday.

It was also Barch's first point in 23 games. He generates plenty of penalty minutes, but he does next to nothing offensively. He has all of seven shots on goal this season and had just 16 in 44 games in 2010-11. As a side note, this was Barch's first contest since serving a one-game suspension for his insensitive remark to PK Subban.

Krys Barch has been suspended for one game for his insensitive remark to PK Subban.

Barch reportedly asked PK Subban if he "slipped on a banana peel," after Subban had fought Florida's Erik Gudbranson. That brings back bad memories of a fan who threw a banana peel at Wayne Simmonds during the preseason. Subban actually didn't even hear Barch's remark, but an official did and ejected Barch from the game. Barch later called Subban to explain what happened and to tell Subban that he didn't intend for his comment to have any racial undertones.

There has been no word out of the NHL offices about the fate of Krys Barch.

It looks as if the league is going to take it's time with this. Barch, as you may recall, has been accused of making a racial comment to Montreal's P.K. Subban. Barch, who has vehemently denied making any such comment, will likely not play while this matter is being considered.

Krys Barch's hearing has been pushed back to Wednesday.

Barch was originally expected to have a disciplinary call Tuesday. The NHL is investigating an incident where Barch allegedly made a racial slur directed at Montreal's P.K. Subban. Barch was ejected from the game, but his agent claims it was a misunderstanding and Subban didn't hear Barch.
