Date:

Nate Guenin and Andrew Bodnarchuk will be scratched from Friday's match with the Blues.

Unfortunately, there isn't a lick of fantasy value between these two defenders for one very important reason, neither have contributed to the stat sheet.

Nate Guenin and Chris Wagner will sit Wednesday night when the Avalanche host the Buffalo Sabres

Guenin was recently waived and went unclaimed. The special game features the return of former Avalanche, Ryan O'Reilly who was traded to the Sabres in the off season. Wagner had sat out 14 straight before sliding back into the lineup for three straight, scoring once (3-1-0-1).
Jan 20 - 9:48 PM

Nate Guenin went unclaimed on waivers.

There was a previous report that Guenin would temporarily remain with Colorado if he cleared waivers, so we'll have to wait and see what the Avalanche do next. Guenin has no points in 29 contests this season.
Jan 14 - 1:22 PM

Nate Guenin is expected to stay with the Avalanche temporarily if he goes unclaimed from waivers.

He is slated to be a healthy scratch on Thursday if he remains with the team because Chris Bigras and Nikita Zadorov will play against the Devils.

Jan 13 - 12:20 PM

The Colorado Avalanche will likely scratch Nate Guenin and Chris Wagner for Saturday's contest against the Flames.

With zero points in 24 games this season, it is safe to say that Guenin has no fantasy upside. Both Guenin and Wagner are depth skaters and have no business on any fantasy rosters.
Jan 2 - 9:54 PM

Nate Guenin got back in the lineup Thursday night.

He played because Tyson Barrie was a late scratch because of flu-like symptoms. It was Guenin's first appearance since Dec. 21 when he suffered a head injury against Toronto.

Nate Guenin will be scratched from Saturday's match with Winnipeg.

The 32-year-old defender has no points in a dozen games this season, which indicates he both has trouble cracking Colorado's terrible blue line and making an impact.

Nate Guenin is a healthy scratch in Monday's game against the Winnipeg Jets.

This will be his third consecutive game as a healthy scratch for Colorado. The 32-year-old has no points in 12 games this season. John Mitchell is scratched because of an injury to his abdomen.

Nate Guenin will be scratched against Flyers on Tuesday night.

Guenin has picked up no points, and no other stats of note through nine games this season. It would seem the 33-year-old defender has no fantasy value.

Nate Guenin was supported by his teammates after he committed a brutal turnover in Tuesday's 3-2 shootout win over Dallas.

He gave the puck away to Ales Hemsky, who set up Erik Cole to give the Stars a 2-0 lead at the time. The Avalanche rallied in the third and won the game in a shootout. "Not just [goalie Semyon Varlamov], all the players on the team (were supportive) of Nate," coach Patrick Roy said. "Nate works so hard, blocking shots and playing important minutes with Tyson Barrie ... tougher for him because he's a defensive defenseman and doesn't have the opportunity to go and get a big goal for us. But his teammates did it for him."
