Although Patrick Kaleta is mere hours away from officially becoming an unrestricted free agent, he still wants to re-sign with Buffalo.
"My No. 1 goal and priority is to stay with the Sabres, especially after the moves we made," Kaleta said. "It'd be amazing to continue my career here." The moves in question might have sealed Kaleta's fate though. The Sabres have a bit of a logjam in terms of forwards as it is, so it seems unlikely that they would sign Kaleta at this point. Patrick Kaleta isn't sure what his future holds, but he would obviously prefer to see his career continue in Buffalo.

"This organization, my teammates and the Buffalo Sabres crest means so much to me that it's hard for me to explain," Kaleta said. "I would do anything to be back here next year and for years to come." He has played his entire career (348 games) with his hometown team. Injuries have been an issue throughout that time because of his reckless style. Kaleta appeared in 42 games this past season and he picked up three assists to go with 88 hits.
