Daniel Carcillo led the Chicago Blackhawks in hits Saturday with seven.
Carcillo had only one hit in his first three playoff games this season so he took his game to another level Saturday. He is a bottom-six player at this stage of his career and should be taken in only deep, deep fantasy pools as such. May 19 - 6:37 AM

Daniel Carcillo had his first point of the playoffs on Wednesday.

Carcillo assisted on Marcus Kruger's goal in Chicago's 4-1 win over Detroit. Carcillo started this season as a potential top-six forward, but he's been relegated to a supporting role. He's not expected to even play in every game, but his blend of physical play and limited offensive capabilities should help the Blackhawks in their playoff run.

May 16 - 8:53 AM

Daniel Carcillo is likely to play Tuesday in Game 4 versus Minnesota.

It looks like he'll suit up and Brandon Bollig will sit as a healthy scratch after playing in Chicago's previous postseason contests.
May 7 - 9:25 PM

Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville says Daniel Carcillo "could play" in Tuesday's Game 4.

Carcillo has been a healthy scratch for the first three games of the series but the Blackhawks could be looking to add more of an edge to their lineup for Game 4. With Quenneville, "could play" usually means "will play," but we likely won't have confirmation until pregame warmups.
May 7 - 2:20 PM

Daniel Carcillo scored his second goal of the season in the Blackhawks 3-1 loss to the Vancouver Canucks.

Carcillo has dealt with a multitude of injuries over the past few seasons, and maybe this is the reason why the PIM's have dropped significantly. Or maybe he has made a conscious effort to tone it down and focus on playing hockey instead. Either way, he has killed his greatest attribute, his PIM's, by his change of style. He's not a point producer either so if he isn't collecting PIM's, he has no fantasy value.
Apr 23 - 2:02 AM

Daniel Carcillo has dealt with consistency issues since returning from a knee injury.

Carcillo has two points in 19 games while averaging 8:58 minutes per contests. That's quite a reversal of fortunes for a player that started the season on Chicago's top line. "I’m just trying to gear up for the stretch run and hopefully earn a spot in the lineup for the playoffs," Carcillo said. "Every day is kind of a new challenge. I just have to play every game almost perfect to stay in this lineup." Carcillo's physical play will probably be an asset for the Blackhawks during the postseason, but we don't expect him to battle back into a top-six position in what's left of the regular season or the playoffs.

Apr 11 - 9:43 AM

Daniel Carcillo will get back into Chicago's lineup Wednesday.

He has been a healthy scratch for the team's past three games. Carcillo has appeared in just 11 games this season, mostly because of injury, where he has collected two points, seven penalty minutes and 20 hits.
Mar 20 - 3:58 PM

Daniel Carcillo was a healthy scratch for a third straight time Monday.

Carcillo was joined in the press box by Jamal Mayers and Sheldon Brookbank. Carcillo has not fully recovered from a knee injury suffered on opening night. His value is in penalty minutes so look elsewhere at this time.
Mar 19 - 7:15 AM

Left wing Daniel Carcillo has been a healty scratch in the Chicago Blackhawks' past three games.

"I haven't felt even close to my best," Carcillo said after the Hawks' practice Friday in the Dallas area. "I haven't been playing very well, despite that goal. It's just a goal. In this league it's not what have you done for me, it's what have you done for me lately. I haven't done anything so I deserve to be out." After that goal in the waning seconds of the Hawks' 3-2 victory over the Avalanche on March 6 to extend the team's streak without a regulation loss to 24 to start the season, Carcillo saw his ice time drop from a season-high 13 minutes, 42 seconds that night to 11:50 two nights later, 4:01 two nights after that and to the scratch during Thursday night's 2-1 shootout victory over the Blue Jackets. "I'm not skating (and) I'm not winning battles," Carcillo said. "I'm not going to make excuses. I just have to figure it out."
Mar 16 - 10:25 AM

Although Daniel Carcillo is healthy, he's still adjusting after barely playing over the last year.

Injuries have limited Carcillo to just 10 games since the start of 2012. "I still don’t feel 100 percent out there. Body-wise I am, but mentally getting back into the game after missing almost 14 months, it’s hard," Carcillo said. "I’m still getting back into the swing of things. It’s nice to get rewarded, because it’s been a long, hard road, that’s for sure." Carcillo is referring to the fact that he netted the game-winner with 50 seconds remaining in regulation time in Chicago's 3-2 victory on Wednesday. That has to help his confidence.

Mar 7 - 9:36 AM

Daniel Carcillo's goal kept the Blackhawks' points streak alive with a 3-2 win over the Avalanche on Wednesday night.

With Marian Hossa out with an upper-body injury, Carcillo received an increased role and it paid off big time. The agitator picked a good time to score his first goal of the season, potting it with 50 seconds left in the game. Jonathan Toews and Andrew Shaw had the other markers. This is an especially impressive win considering Chicago was down entering the third and Shaw and Patrick Sharp also left with injuries later in the tilt. The Hawks are now 21-0-3 with 11 wins in a row.
Mar 6 - 10:35 PM

Daniel Carcillo doesn't necessarily mind the reputation he's built through nine suspensions and fines.

"I definitely don't have much room out there, that's for sure," Carcillo said. "But I'm not going to look at it negatively. I kind of like the unpredictability that I have established. Because if (opponents) are worrying about me running around, they're not worrying about the other two guys on (my line). It's an advantage for us." He has 13 hits in three games since returning from a knee injury.
Feb 27 - 8:27 AM

Daniel Carcillo played 8:20 minutes in his return from a knee injury.

Carcillo missed a month due to his knee problem. He started the season as a top-six forward, but he lost that spot during his time on the sidelines. That hurts his offensive potential, but he should still get plenty of PIM either way.
Feb 23 - 9:57 AM

Daniel Carcillo (knee) will play on the fourth line Friday.

When Carcillo sustained the injury, it looked like he'd get top-six minutes this season. Carcillo might have lost that opportunity for now, but he'll still be a good source of penalty minutes.
Feb 22 - 2:10 PM

Daniel Carcillo (knee) says he's ready to return but won't play Tuesday night.

Carcillo has played in only one game this season after being limited to 28 games last season. He has some fantasy value thanks to a decent scoring touch and heavy amounts of penalty minutes, but he's not worth stashing in most formats. Leave him on the waiver wire and monitor his progress.
