Brandon Dubinsky was taken off the injured reserve list and is in action tonight.

Dubinsky underwent surgery to both sides of his groin just as the NHL season began and is now ready to go. The Blue Jackets really missed him all season as he hit the 50 point mark and had 98 penalty minutes last season. Get ready to activate him.
Dec 9 - 7:17 PM

Brandon Dubinsky (abdominal surgery) is projected to make his season debut on Tuesday.

"I feel like I'm there right now, where I'm good enough to go out and help," Dubinsky said. "I'm sure there are going to be some sore days to come, but I just have to find a way to manage that. I'm certainly excited to be in." He's expected to play with familiar linemates Matt Calvert and Cam Atkinson.
Dec 8 - 4:59 PM

Brandon Dubinsky (abdominal surgery) will join the Blue Jackets on their upcoming two-game road trip.

Columbus will play Florida on Thursday and Tampa Bay on Saturday. He's not likely to play on Thursday, but after that, all bets are off. "Everyone wants to ask every day how I'm feeling and when I'm going to play," Dubinsky said. "Your guess is as good as mine. It's got to feel good enough that I can come out and perform and help the team. I'm itching to do it, there's no doubt about that. It's just a tough situation."
Dec 3 - 4:00 PM

Brandon Dubinsky (abdominal surgery) will not dress Monday night versus the Panthers.

There was a small chance Dubinsky was going to suit up Monday for his first game of the year, but unfortunately, he will be sidelined once again. He could be back for Thursday's rematch versus the Panthers so monitor Dubinsky's status as their next game approaches. Also out Monday night due to injuries are Artem Anisimov, who just tore his triceps and will miss the next two to three months, Nathan Horton, Mark Letestu, Ryan Murray, Cody Goloubef, and Fedor Tyutin. The list can't get any longer for the last place Blue Jackets.

Brandon Dubinsky (abdominal surgery) has an outside chance of playing on Monday.

"He is getting close," Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards said of Dubinsky. "I haven't spoken with Brandon yet today, but he skated in Nashville yesterday ... had a good, hard skate and said he felt really good afterward. I don't know how he feels today." Richards was pressed on if there's a chance Dubinsky would play on Monday and he responded by saying that he guessed there was a possibility. In other words, it sounds like it's premature to insert Dubinsky into your lineup, but this situation is certainly worth monitoring.
Dec 1 - 8:36 AM

Brandon Dubinsky (abdominal surgery) skated once again on Saturday.

Dubinsky could return this week after missing all season. He was injured in pre-season and the Blue Jackets really have missed their top center. Get him in your lineup once he returns as he is a nice combination of points and penalty minutes.
Nov 30 - 7:29 AM

Brandon Dubinsky has been ruled out for Friday's game.

No real surprise there, but the good news is Dubinsky is getting close to returning. "It was great to have him out on the ice," Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards said of Dubinsky practicing on Wednesday. "He didn't look like he was out of place, but you could tell he hadn't been out there in a while. Obviously, the more reps that he gets, the more he gets to skate with us, the better he will be." Dubinsky has missed Columbus' first 21 games in 2014-15.
Nov 28 - 10:04 AM

Brandon Dubinsky (abdominal surgery) looked good during Wednesday's optional skate.

"Today is the best I've felt," Dubinsky said. "These last few days, I've started to turn the corner. I felt pretty good today. It's the long strides, the last 8-10 inches of your stride, trying to get that power. That’s the hardest thing. Some of the opening-up stuff, where you really open your groins up, that's difficult. But I've been working." There's no timetable in place for his return, but he's on the right track.
Nov 26 - 6:18 PM

Brandon Dubinsky (abdominal surgery) should resume practicing soon.

Dubinsky has spent the better part of the week resting his muscles. He hasn't played yet in 2014-15.
Nov 20 - 9:28 AM

Brandon Dubinsky (abdominal surgery) didn't take part in Monday's practice because he needed "a little break."

Dubinsky had been penciled in to make his season debut on Tuesday, but that might not happen now. "He's had some good days and he's had some setback days," Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards said. "That's just par for what he is going through. But we're expecting him to get him right back out at some point here and continue to get back on the road toward playing games." Dubinsky had 50 points and 98 penalty minutes in 76 contests in 2013-14.
Nov 17 - 2:43 PM

Brandon Dubinsky (abdominal surgery) skated with Columbus' strength coach Kevin Collins and then joined the team's optional skate on Saturday.

According to Jackets' coach Todd Richards, Dubinsky is tentatively scheduled to return to the lineup on Tuesday against Detroit. The 28-year-old has yet to play a game this season and he will be a welcomed addition to a struggling Columbus team.
Nov 15 - 12:34 PM

Brandon Dubinsky has missed 12 straight games with Columbus.

Dubinsky has been recovering from abdominal surgery and the Blue Jackets are just 4-8-0 without him. "I still think we have enough leaders in the room to get us through and do and say the right things," Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards said. "But a guy like Dubinsky, he is all emotion, and there is passion that comes (from) that. The emotion is one thing you miss, whether it’s good or bad." Dubinsky's return isn't imminent, but the hope is that he'll play before the end of November.
Nov 7 - 9:21 AM

Brandon Dubinsky's surgery on Wednesday was to both sides of his groin.

Both sides of the groin needed the surgery as one side was worse than the other. The original prognosis was six weeks but since the surgery was more involved, it may take Dubinsky an extra week to recover. Reserve him for now and assume he will return in mid-late November.
Oct 12 - 7:15 AM

As if the Columbus Blue Jackets didn't already have enough injured forwards. Columbus is also missing Brian Gibbons, Boone Jenner, Sonny Milano, and Nathan Horton. Dubinsky will be out for the next six weeks.
