The New York Rangers being booted out in round two means that the worst pick the Columbus Blue Jackets will get from that trade is the 19th selection in the 2013 NHL Draft.
It could go up to 18th depending upon how things shake out. This gives the new regime the 14th pick (their own), 18/19 from New York, the Kings' pick and the 44th selection in the first two rounds. Not bad for a team that showed promise late in this season. May 26 - 1:05 PM

The Columbus Blue Jackets were a banged up team at the end of the regular season.

A lot of teams were but the Blue Jackets will not be sending a lot of players to the World Championships as players such as Brandon Dubinsky (knee), Cam Atkinson (high-ankle sprain), Tim Erixon (ankle), Jack Johnson (groin) and Nikita Nikitin (leg) need to recover. All should be okay for the start of training camp in September.

Brandon Dubinsky enjoyed a two-point night with a goal and an assist as the Blue Jackets topped the Predators on Saturday 3-1.

The Blue Jackets still won't be heading to the playoffs because of the Wild's win against the Avs. Still, it was a very promising season for Columbus, which finished 24-17-7, with 55 points, 10 shy of their full-season total from last year. Cam Atkinson also had a goal and an assist, while Jack Johnson potted the other marker. This is a team on the rise in the West.
Apr 27 - 10:06 PM

Brandon Dubinsky recorded two assists on Thursday.

Dubinsky has stepped up this month with nine assists in nine games. He has 18 points in 28 points and isn't a bad bet to reach the 50-point mark next season if he can stay healthy.
Apr 26 - 9:39 AM

The NHL has decided to rescind the match penalty Brandon Dubinsky received at the end of Thursday's game.

That means Dubinsky's suspension has also been lifted. The Blue Jackets and Kings players on the ice traded blows following the game. Dubinsky was probably initially given the match penalty because he appeared to punch Kings defenseman Drew Doughty as Doughty attempted to skate away. However, it's worth noting that Doughty initially chose to engage Dubinsky when Dubinsky was focused on other players.
Apr 19 - 1:17 PM

Brandon Dubinsky received a match penalty for his actions during a postgame fight on Thursday.

Dubinsky appeared to punch Los Angeles' Drew Doughty as the defenseman was trying to skate away. "Just a cheap shot, and that's his personality," Kings forward Kyle Clifford said, referring to Dubinsky. "We've got guys out there and he goes after Doughty, who is not our toughest player." Dubinsky has been suspended until the league rules on the incident.
Apr 19 - 9:46 AM

Columbus center Brandon Dubinsky assisted on both of the Blue Jackets' goals in regulation to help his team record a 3-2 shootout victory over the Wild in Minnesota Saturday night.

Dubinsky, who also got a 10-minute major early in the game for instigating a brawl, assisted on goals by Vinny Prospal and Fedor Tyutin.
Apr 14 - 12:20 AM

The Columbus Blue Jackets will get Brandon Dubinsky and Jared Boll back in the lineup on Friday.

Dubinsky was dealing with flu-like symptoms. If he gets regular minutes with former-turned-current teammate Marian Gaborik, Dubinsky can have some significant value as a jack of all trades. Boll's lure is obvious: PIM.
Apr 12 - 1:25 PM

Brandon Dubinsky (illness) practiced fully in Thursday morning's session.

"That's a good sign but I still don't know what that means for tomorrow (against St. Louis)," coach Todd Richards said. He is somewhere between "questionable" and "probable," the Columbus bench boss added.
Apr 11 - 1:47 PM

Brandon Dubinsky (flu) and Jared Boll (lower body) won't play Tuesday night.

Dubinsky was considered doubtful coming into tonight's game after not playing Sunday with the illness. Boll also was not expected to be available and is not close to returning at this point. Neither player has done much to merit fantasy consideration this season so you should be OK without both.
Apr 9 - 6:30 PM

Brandon Dubinsky (flu) is doubtful Tuesday.

Dubinsky did not play on Sunday and unless he makes a big recovery, he will not play Tuesday. He has only a goal and 11 points in 21 games this season so you can definitely replace his points in your fantasy lineup.
Apr 9 - 8:25 AM

The Columbus Blue Jackets are hoping that Brandon Dubinsky (flu) will be able to return to action on Tuesday.

Dubinsky sat out Sunday's game with the flu and his presence was missed in a 3-0 loss to Minnesota. He has only one goal and 11 points in 21 injury-plagued games this season but now has his former Ranger teammate Marian Gaborik playing alongside him and that should help his offensive totals the rest of the way.
Apr 8 - 6:55 AM

Brandon Dubinsky will not play in Sunday's game due to the flu.

Dubinsky has a goal and 11 points in 21 games this season. Consider him day-to-day for now.
Apr 7 - 5:59 PM

Brandon Dubinsky had two assists on Thursday.

Dubinsky played on a line with Marian Gaborik. Dubinsky obviously has experience playing with Gaborik from their days with the New York Rangers and the Gaborik trade should boost Dubinsky's production going forward.
Apr 5 - 9:48 AM

Brandon Dubinsky was activated from injured reserve Wednesday evening and he'll return to the lineup Thursday night.

He hasn't played since March 19 because of a lower-body injury. Dubinsky is projected to line up on the fourth line between Derek MacKenzie and Colton Gillies.
