Brandon Dubinsky (wrist) will make his pre-season debut on Saturday.

Dubinsky has been held out of previous games as he is recovering from off-season surgery on his wrist which occurred in May. He will line up with Pierre-Luc Dubois and Matt Calvert. Look for a 40-45 point season from Dubinsky but he could be the only center in the NHL with 100-plus penalty minutes, making him an asset in leagues that use the PIM category.

Brandon Dubinsky (wrist) participated in contact drills on Friday.

Up until that skate, Dubinsky hadn't taken contact due to the injury. He underwent surgery in May and doesn't have a timetable for his return. It's consequently not clear if he'll be available for Columbus' Oct. 6 season opener, but this is an encouraging sign.

Brandon Dubinsky isn't a fan of the college free agent process in the NHL.

"The college free agency situation in the @NHL needs to be figured out," Dubinsky tweeted on Friday. "It's a joke especially to the guys that play major junior. I bet teams that make the draft pick would agree with me as well!" Players like the Avalanche and Devils lost the rights to Will Butcher and Alex Kerfoot respectively, because the players became free agents after not signing entry-level contracts with their respective teams.

The Columbus Blue Jackets snapped their six-game losing streak in their final game of the regular season.

Though meaningless in terms of the standings, that 3-2 victory over Toronto helps the Blue Jackets from a morale perspective. "It gives us big momentum," Brandon Dubinsky said. "The biggest thing is feeling good about ourselves the next couple of days, knowing what it feels like to win a game again, knowing how it feels to be able to smile and have a good time after a game. Either way, we would have been ready to play, but this feels good." The Blue Jackets now have a tough series against the Pittsburgh Penguins lined up. Columbus is a talented squad, but it lacks the Penguins' playoff experience.
