Brandon Dubinsky is serving as the veteran presence on a line with two rookies.

Josh Anderson and Kerby Rychel were his linemates on Saturday and the trio is projected to stay intact for Tuesday's contest against the New York Islanders. "Those guys play my style of game, which is getting the puck in deep, forechecking and banging," Dubinsky said. "Hopefully, we can create some havoc out there and make it tough on the opposing D. It’s good. They’re important to the organization and the team. And they’re good players." Dubinsky has been hot lately with a goal and six points in his last five games.

Brandon Dubinsky ended a five-game point drought on Saturday.

Dubinsky has four goals and 13 points in 24 contests after registering an assist versus the New York Islanders. That's a decent by his standards as far as his point-per-game pace goes, but we wouldn't be surprised if he does a little better in that regard over the rest of the campaign.

Brandon Dubinsky doesn't plan to change anything based on his one-game suspension for crosschecking Sidney Crosby.

"The next time I have an opportunity to play (Crosby), I’m going to play him hard," Dubinsky said. "Like I said before, I’m not trying to crosscheck a guy in the neck, regardless of what anybody else thinks. I’m going to play him hard, I’m going to play him as physical as I can, and I’m going to play as clean as I can. But I’ll make it a tough night on him." Dubinsky is eligible to return on Tuesday. His next opportunity to play against Crosby will have to wait until Dec. 21 though.

Brandon Dubinsky will return to action on Tuesday after being suspended for one game.

Dubinsky was handed the discipline for his cross-check to the neck of Sidney Crosby. It was the first suspension of his career and it forced him to miss the St. Louis game. "We absolutely missed him," Ryan Johansen said. "We all know what he provides for this team, in so many areas. I thought we had guys step up and play pretty big minutes. It’s a tough club over there. But Dubi is one of our difference-makers." Dubinsky has four goals and 12 points in 18 games this season. He should be in your lineup when healthy (or not suspended).

The NHL has summoned Brandon Dubinsky to a hearing for his cross-check on Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby.

Dubinsky cross-checked Crosby in the neck and then gave him one more for good measure when Crosby fell to the ice after the hit. "There’s no secret. I try to play him as hard as I can," Dubinsky said. "That being said, I don’t try and do anything dirty. I felt like my stick ride up his back a little bit. He’s kind of bent over there in front. But again, that’s not the type of player I am. I’m going to play hard, but try and play fair and play in between the whistle." The NHL likely will disagree with his appraisal and sit him down for a spell. Stay tuned.
