Brandon Dubinsky took a boarding penalty that led to the deciding goal in Columbus' 3-2 loss to Montreal on Wednesday.

I've got to make sure I hold myself accountable and be better." He was also credited with seven hits in 20:51 minutes of ice time. Columbus had a 2-0 lead, but Montreal rallied in the final 10 minutes of the contest.

There's a chance Brandon Dubinsky might get into trouble for an incident that occurred at the end of Saturday's game.

Dubinsky swung his stick at New York Islanders forward John Tavares and appeared to hit an NHL linesman. The official didn't give him a game misconduct for abusing an official, which would have triggered an automatic suspension, but it's still possible that the league might fine or suspend Dubinsky. There hasn't been any word from the league on the subject yet, but the Blue Jackets don't play until Wednesday, so the NHL still has plenty of time to make its decision.

Brandon Dubinsky (abdominal surgery) is projected to make his season debut on Tuesday.

"I feel like I'm there right now, where I'm good enough to go out and help," Dubinsky said. "I'm sure there are going to be some sore days to come, but I just have to find a way to manage that. I'm certainly excited to be in." He's expected to play with familiar linemates Matt Calvert and Cam Atkinson.

Brandon Dubinsky (abdominal surgery) will join the Blue Jackets on their upcoming two-game road trip.

Columbus will play Florida on Thursday and Tampa Bay on Saturday. He's not likely to play on Thursday, but after that, all bets are off. "Everyone wants to ask every day how I'm feeling and when I'm going to play," Dubinsky said. "Your guess is as good as mine. It's got to feel good enough that I can come out and perform and help the team. I'm itching to do it, there's no doubt about that. It's just a tough situation."

Brandon Dubinsky (abdominal surgery) will not dress Monday night versus the Panthers.

There was a small chance Dubinsky was going to suit up Monday for his first game of the year, but unfortunately, he will be sidelined once again. He could be back for Thursday's rematch versus the Panthers so monitor Dubinsky's status as their next game approaches. Also out Monday night due to injuries are Artem Anisimov, who just tore his triceps and will miss the next two to three months, Nathan Horton, Mark Letestu, Ryan Murray, Cody Goloubef, and Fedor Tyutin. The list can't get any longer for the last place Blue Jackets.

Brandon Dubinsky (abdominal surgery) has an outside chance of playing on Monday.

"He is getting close," Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards said of Dubinsky. "I haven't spoken with Brandon yet today, but he skated in Nashville yesterday ... had a good, hard skate and said he felt really good afterward. I don't know how he feels today." Richards was pressed on if there's a chance Dubinsky would play on Monday and he responded by saying that he guessed there was a possibility. In other words, it sounds like it's premature to insert Dubinsky into your lineup, but this situation is certainly worth monitoring.

Brandon Dubinsky (abdominal surgery) skated once again on Saturday.

Dubinsky could return this week after missing all season. He was injured in pre-season and the Blue Jackets really have missed their top center. Get him in your lineup once he returns as he is a nice combination of points and penalty minutes.

Brandon Dubinsky has been ruled out for Friday's game.

No real surprise there, but the good news is Dubinsky is getting close to returning. "It was great to have him out on the ice," Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards said of Dubinsky practicing on Wednesday. "He didn't look like he was out of place, but you could tell he hadn't been out there in a while. Obviously, the more reps that he gets, the more he gets to skate with us, the better he will be." Dubinsky has missed Columbus' first 21 games in 2014-15.

Brandon Dubinsky (abdominal surgery) looked good during Wednesday's optional skate.

"Today is the best I've felt," Dubinsky said. "These last few days, I've started to turn the corner. I felt pretty good today. It's the long strides, the last 8-10 inches of your stride, trying to get that power. That’s the hardest thing. Some of the opening-up stuff, where you really open your groins up, that's difficult. But I've been working." There's no timetable in place for his return, but he's on the right track.
