Clarkson plans to skate again on Tuesday and might resume practicing by the end of the week. It's still not clear when he'll be healthy enough to play, but clearly he's making progress now. He has an assist in eight games in 2015-16. Dec 1 - 10:03 AM

David Clarkson (beck) missed the Columbus Blue Jackets' practice on Monday.

Clarkson hasn't played since Nov. 3 due to the injury. It's not clear when he'll be back, but given that he missed Monday's practice, we doubt that he'll be ready for Tuesday's contest.
Nov 10 - 8:16 AM

Updating an earlier item, David Clarkson has been placed on injured reserve with a back injury.

That means he won't be available to play on Thursday and Friday after he was injured in Tuesday's game against San Jose. Consider him day-to-day for now.
Nov 4 - 3:58 PM

Coach John Tortorella expects to know more about David Clarkson's status on Wednesday.

He played just one shift in the third period on Tuesday night due to an undisclosed injury. Clarkson has one assist in eight games this year.
Nov 4 - 3:29 PM

David Clarkson, Rene Bourque, and Fedor Tyutin will each be scratched from Saturday's tilt with the Jets.

In 26 combined games from Clarkson, Bourque, and Tyutin they've accumulated just two points (both helpers), 21 PIMs, and 47 hits. Not too shabby at all as a trio, but not of great inspiration as individuals unfortunately.
Oct 31 - 7:04 PM

David Clarkson will suit up for the first time this season on Friday night against Toronto.

He had groin and back issues during training camp, but he's ready to play now and will face his former teammates. Clarkson will skate on the fourth line.
Oct 16 - 3:12 PM

David Clarkson (lower body) is a possibility for Friday's game against Toronto.

It would obviously be an interesting game for Clarkson to come back for, given that he spent most of the previous two seasons with the Maple Leafs. More importantly for the Blue Jackets though is getting their first win of the season. If Clarkson plays, it will likely be on the fourth line with William Karlsson and Gregory Campbell.
Oct 16 - 7:59 AM

David Clarkson (lower body) might return this weekend.

Columbus is scheduled to play on Friday against Toronto and Saturday versus Chicago. The one upcoming game Clarkson has been ruled out of is Wednesday's contest against Ottawa.
Oct 14 - 10:03 AM

David Clarkson (lower body) might not join Columbus on its upcoming road trip.

In other words, Clarkson might miss at least the Blue Jackets' first three contests. He had 10 goals, 15 points, and 106 penalty minutes in 61 contests with Columbus and Toronto in 2014-15.
Oct 9 - 12:07 PM

David Clarkson's undisclosed injury is related to his lower body.

Clarkson will be held out of Friday's opener as a result. It's possible that this is injury will keep him out for a while, but the Blue Jackets aren't sure about that yet. The good news is that he skated on Thursday.
Oct 8 - 3:36 PM

David Clarkson (undisclosed) is questionable for Saturday's final exhibition game.

Clarkson has missed the last three days of practice. While he is expected to be ready to go in the Blue Jackets first regular season game this week, he may not go on Saturday. His fantasy value is limited as he should score 12-15 goals and get 30 points. His penalty minute total should be good, if that is what you are looking for in your fantasy draft.
Oct 3 - 6:58 AM

David Clarkson will not face supplemental discipline for his actions on Thursday, according to the Dispatch's source.

The NHL requested footage of Clarkson's knee-on-knee hit to Minnesota forward Justin Fontaine so that they could review the matter. Ultimately, the league felt the five-minute major and game misconduct he received was sufficient punishment.
Sep 25 - 10:24 AM

David Clarkson is looking to regain his confidence after a difficult stint with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

It’s hard to go through, absolutely," Clarkson said. "But in sports, you have to be tough. You hold yourself accountable. I didn’t have excuses. I had a lot of stuff handed to me and I sat there and took it. But that’s life. It’s easy to have an excuse. Now when I look back, with the suspension the first year and my elbow (injury) … a lot of stuff went on and I lost my confidence. When you’re confident the puck is bouncing off of you and going into the net, it’s all going your way. When you don’t have confidence, stuff starts spiraling and it’s a hot potato."
Sep 20 - 9:33 AM

David Clarkson is projected to be a third-line winger for Columbus this season.

He didn't last long with his new team last year, as he was hurt in his first appearance and missed the final 19 games due to an abdominal injury. Clarkson is not expected to make much of an impact offensively, but he can contribute hits and around 100 penalty minutes if he stays healthy.
Aug 6 - 12:22 PM

David Clarkson suffered a torn oblique Tuesday and he's expected to miss four-to-six weeks.

That will likely sideline him for the rest of the season. Columbus has been hit hard by injuries all year and Clarkson got to start in just three games with his new club. He didn't pick up a point during that time, but he racked up 14 minutes in penalties.
