Hansen had played the last three games on the first line with Joe Thornton and Joe Pavelski but with the imminent return of Logan Couture to the lineup, Tomas Hertl returned to his spot on the first unit with Couture practicing at center with the second line. Any fantasy opportunity that Hansen had in the last two weeks have dissipated. He has three assists in 25 games.

Jannik Hansen is now playing with Joe Thornton and Joe Pavelski on the top line in San Jose.

That is a big jump from his status as a healthy scratch as recently as Monday. Hansen was put on the top unit when coach Peter DeBoer went to his two veterans and asked them who they wanted to play with. Hansen has only three assists in 24 games this season so he better start getting it together shortly or he will find himself back in the press box as a spectator.

Jannik Hansen will be a healthy scratch when the San Jose Sharks visit the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night.

Hansen has no goals and three assists in 22 games so far this season. The on-time 20-goal scorer had an assist in his last game versus his former team the Canucks on Friday, but won't dress for Monday's tilt versus the Oilers. He will be joined in the press box by defenseman Paul Martin and the sidelined Logan Couture.
