Ryan Carter didn't skate Wednesday because of an illness.

He hasn't been ruled out yet for Thursday's contest, though. "Knowing him, he'd have to be pretty sick" to miss the game, coach Mike Yeo said.
Nov 18 - 2:20 PM

Ryan Carter scored a goal in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Anaheim Ducks.

Carter was busy, as he scored a goal but also had Ducks forward Patrick Maroon following during a TV timeout. With his team leading, Carter opted not to drop the gloves with Maroon. "They’re frustrated. I get it," Carter said. "He’s just trying to do his job, give his team a spark. But the shots were 20-something to six at that point. When your team’s playing well, you don’t want to give the other team a spark." The 32-year-old has one goal and four penalty minutes this season.
Oct 25 - 8:20 AM

Ryan Carter has signed a one-year deal worth $625,000 with Minnesota.

He notched three goals and 13 points in 53 games with the Wild last campaign.
Jul 1 - 1:47 PM

Ryan Carter, Nicklas Backstrom, Sean Bergenheim, Christian Folin and Jordan Leopold will be healthy scratches for Thursday's game against Chicago.

Carter will come out of the lineup to make room for Charlie Coyle. The Wild are in must-win mode because another loss means that their season will come to an end.
May 7 - 9:55 PM

Ryan Carter will make his playoff debut on Tuesday night, skating on the fourth line in Game Three against Chicago.

Carter will skate to the right of Matt Cooke and Kyle Brodziak. Through 53 regular season games this season, Carter put up just 13 points, which is just one more point than his career playoff total through 48 games.
May 5 - 6:37 PM

Ryan Carter will lead a quartet of Minnesota Wild forwards into the press box as they watch their mates take on the Chicago Blackhawks in Game One on Friday night.

Carter will be joined by Erik Haula, Sean Bergenheim, and Jordan Schroeder. Unfortunately there isn't much fantasy value to speak of here. Carter has 12 points in 43 career playoff games. Haula has seven in 13, but 29 points in 118 career regular season games. And Bergenheim has 17 points in 26 career playoff games, though 11 came in 2011 with Tampa Bay over 16 games.
May 1 - 8:06 PM

Ryan Carter, Erik Haula, and Nate Prosser will be watching from the press box Monday night against the Blues in Game 3.

This trio has yet to crack the Wild lineup for their previous two playoff games and we don’t expect them to get back out there anytime soon. Matt Cooke, and Jordan Schroeder, and Christian Folin are also healthy scratches Monday night while Sean Bergenheim and Justin Fontaine tag in for Game 3.
Apr 20 - 6:28 PM

Ryan Carter will tag in for Mikko Koivu as a late addition to the lineup on Saturday night against the Detroit Red Wings.

Carter, who's played just twice since Feb. 9th due to injury, has posted 13 points, 55 PIMs, and 72 hits across 50 games this season.
Apr 4 - 7:06 PM

Ryan Carter will be back in the Minnesota lineup against Los Angeles Saturday night.

He has been out for 22 games with a shoulder injury but is ready to go. Despite the fact this will help the Wild, Carter has no fantasy value.
Mar 28 - 1:40 PM

Ryan Carter was activated from the injury reserve on Friday and took part of warm-ups, but will officially be a healthy scratch against the Flames.

Carter hasn't played since Feb. 9th, a span of 22 games, due to a shoulder injury. He's had a nice season as a bottom-line forward, posting 13 points, 53 PIMs, and 70 blocks through 48 games.
Mar 27 - 7:42 PM

Ryan Carter might be ready to return on Friday from a shoulder injury.

The decision on his status could be made after the morning skate. Carter has missed 22 straight games due to the ailment.
Mar 26 - 6:25 PM

Ryan Carter needs a little more practice time before he returns to action.

He has been sidelined since February 9th with a shoulder injury. If Carter does not suffer a setback in practices this weekend, a Tuesday return against the Islanders is a possibility. When he does return to action look for Sean Bergenheim to be the forward to sit out.
Mar 21 - 1:11 PM

Ryan Carter is getting close to returning from a shoulder injury.

"It's another step in the progression," said Carter after Wednesday's practice. "It's nice to keep moving forward. When you're not skating you feel like you're standing still, or going backwards. It's good to be moving the right direction." He has been sidelined since Feb. 9.
Mar 18 - 5:20 PM

Ryan Carter may return to practice Monday.

Carter has been out since February 9th with a shoulder injury but seems to be ready to take the next step in his recovery. He will likely need another week after returning to scrimages before he can play in a game.
