The Minnesota Wild get Ryan Carter back in the lineup against the Nashville Predators after activating him from IR.
Carter has 10 points in 26 games this season, which isn't anything special but does match the total he produced in 62 contests back in 2013-14. Carter was dealing with a shoulder injury. Dec 20 - 12:54 PM

Date:

Ryan Carter (upper body) has been placed on the injured reserve list.

Carter has two goals and 10 points in 26 contests in 2014-15. Brett Sutter has been called up to fill the void.
Dec 15 - 12:29 PM

Ryan Carter will sit out with a minor upper body injury, allowing Stu Bickel to draw back into the lineup on Saturday night.

Carter may not be exactly a household name, but he's a big step up from Stu Bickel who ranks much more closely to a borderline NHL'er. However, if you're in need of some PIMs, Bickel could be a shrewd pickup as he has 30 PIMs in just nine games in AHL Iowa this season.
Dec 13 - 6:17 PM

Ryan Carter scored the only Minnesota goal in a 3-1 loss to the Devils on Tuesday night.

The shorthanded tally was the first marker of the year for Carter and the only blemish on Cory Schneider's record in the game.
Nov 11 - 10:09 PM

Ryan Carter (upper body) should be back in the Wild's lineup on Tuesday.

Wild coach Mike Yeo isn't ready to commit to that though. Instead, he said Carter's status will be determined after the pregame warmups. Carter has five assists in nine games in 2014-15. He is projected to play on a line with Erik Haula and Justin Fontaine.
Nov 4 - 4:21 PM

Ryan Carter (upper body) took part in Monday's practice.

However, his status for Tuesday night's game Pittsburgh is unclear. "He looked pretty good, but we'll have to see how he is in the morning," coach Mike Yeo said. "Sometimes, things like that might get a little bit more sore after you put in the work."
Nov 4 - 10:19 AM

Ryan Carter will not play Saturday night against Dallas.

He has an undisclosed injury and will not suit up. Carter has registered three points in his last five games and has been a solid third-line producer. Consider him day-to-day.
Nov 1 - 1:15 PM

Ryan Carter has posted three assists in his last four games.

He's still not worth owning in fantasy leagues, though. He received a season-high 13:26 of ice time in Saturday's win over Tampa Bay. Carter has been centering Minnesota's fourth line between Jason Zucker and Matt Cooke.
Oct 27 - 1:01 PM

Ryan Carter has agreed to a one-year, two-way contract with the Wild.

He will make $725,000 if he plays at the NHL level or $350,000 in the minors. Carter was skating at New Jersey's camp without a contract, but a deal wasn't worked out with the Devils. Still, he's looking forward to playing in Minnesota. "There's a lot to be excited about going there," he said. "Everything away from the rink aside, I get a chance to play with Zach [Parise] again. He's a good friend of mine. And when you look at the team and the roster and to have a chance to win, that's something that's extremely important to me. Going there with a chance to play and a chance to win is really exciting." He will probably open the season on the fourth line.
Oct 6 - 5:25 PM

Ryan Carter admitted that remaining unsigned was "getting to be a distraction."

Carter has been taking part in New Jersey's training camp on a tryout basis. New Jersey might allow him to participate in further practices after the season starts even if he remains unsigned, but obviously Carter is hoping it doesn't come to that.
Oct 3 - 4:04 PM

Ryan Carter, who is attending the Devils' training camp despite being unsigned, is hoping to get into preseason games.

Carter is paying for his own insurance to protect himself in case he gets hurt. "Where my future is, I don’t even know," Carter said. "I hope I know where it is, but I don't and that's the fact of the matter. So, I've got to go out there and play." He played in 62 games with New Jersey last season, but there's no shortage of competition for bottom-six spots this time around.
Sep 21 - 5:11 PM

Ryan Carter will attend New Jersey's training camp as a tryout.

He remains an unsigned unrestricted free agent after playing his last three seasons with the New Jersey Devils. Carter produced 10 points in 62 games in 2013-14.
Sep 15 - 10:38 AM

Although he's still unsigned, Ryan Carter feels it's important for him to participate in training camp.

Carter is an unrestricted free agent and is hoping that the New Jersey Devils re-sign him after he spent parts of the last three seasons with them. "This is about being the best hockey player you can be and I believe training camp helps you get there," Carter said. "If you're skipping out on training camp, you're not preparing yourself for what's ahead and you're setting yourself behind. I'm here because I want to be here. This is where I want be, where my family wants to be." He had seven goals and 10 points in 62 games in 2013-14.
Sep 10 - 5:33 PM

Ryan Carter is prepared to attend the Devils' training camp without a contract.

Carter is an unrestricted free agent after completing a two-year/$1.55 million contract. Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said that Carter won't be signed to a tryout agreement, although Carter would still have some protection from an insurance perspective.
Sep 9 - 6:05 PM

New Jersey still hopes to re-sign unrestricted free agent Ryan Carter.

The Devils already have 14 forwards on one-way contracts, so it's a bit odd that Carter is still on their radar. The team would have to move a body or two to make room for him. Carter had seven goals and 10 points in 62 games last campaign.
