Adam McQuaid (broken leg) took part in practice with his teammates.
It marked McQuaid's first session since he sustained a broken fibula on Oct. 19. The Bruins will have to adjust their roster once he is ready to return. "He's just starting practice and contact with the guys. But with any extra guys that are proven, it's a good problem to have," said coach Bruce Cassidy. "We'll fit the pieces together when he's truly ready to play. But it is nice to have him around." Dec 12 - 9:50 AM

Adam McQuaid (broken leg) has skated for the last two days.

McQuaid has been skating lightly, so his return is not imminent. Still, he is making progress and his progress remains on schedule for a mid-December comeback.

Oct 17 - 2:10 PM

Adam McQuaid's status is unclear after he was struck in the leg by a shot on Sunday night.

McQuaid was down the ice in the closing seconds of the third period and he had to be helped to the locker room. He was seen walking around after the contest, so it's possible he could be fine to play Thursday night against Vancouver.
Oct 16 - 3:25 PM

Adam McQuaid hopes that he hasn't played his last game with Boston with the expansion draft fast approaching.

"I hope not. I never thought of it that way, to be honest with you," McQuaid said. "The reality is that they're picking someone from every team. I hope that's not the case for me. I want to be back here and I've always said how much I love it here. I can't imagine playing for another team." The Bruins will have to decide who to protect with McQuaid, Kevan Miller and Colin Miller as potential candidates for Vegas. He suffered a neck injury in Game 2 of the playoffs and he wasn't able to play in the last four games of the series.
Apr 26 - 10:15 AM

Adam McQuaid (upper body) isn't expected to play in Game 5 on Friday night.

McQuaid has already missed two games after he was hurt in Game 2 against Ottawa. Boston has a 3-1 hole to work out of in the series and they won't be getting any reinforcements on the back end.
Apr 20 - 3:48 PM

Adam McQuaid (upper body) didn't skate Tuesday and he isn't expected to play Wednesday night.

Apr 18 - 4:35 PM

Adam McQuaid left Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Senators with an upper-body injury and did not return to the game.

If McQuaid can't dress for Game 3, the Bruins will have serious issues finding NHL quality bodies in time for Monday's game. McQuaid joins Krug, Carlo, and Colin Miller as defensemen on the shelf for the Bruins. Head coach Bruce Cassidy did mention before the game that Brandon Carlo will be back sooner rather than later but they might have to rush the rookie blueliner back before he's ready.
Apr 15 - 6:17 PM

Adam McQuaid appeared to shake off a late-game injury on Thursday night.

He left for approximately five minutes, but he was able to return. McQuaid may have hurt his leg during the third period. "I felt all right, it was good to get back out there," said McQuaid. "It was kind of an awkward hit, an awkward position ... and awkward result, yeah. Stuff happens."
Mar 31 - 8:24 AM

Don't be surprised if Adam McQuaid is the player the Bruins lose in the expansion draft to the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Bruins will likely protect seven forwards, three defensemen and Tuukka Rask. Zdeno Chara must be protected as he has a no movement clause and Torey Krug is a no-brainer. That leaves one spot and the talk out of Boston is that the Bruins want to hold on to Colin Miller. That leaves McQuaid, who is the type of player Vegas' GM George McPhee likes, exposed. The draft, scheduled for June 17-20 will certainly be interesting.
Mar 19 - 8:22 AM

Adam McQuaid required approximately 25 stitches across the right side of his neck after he was cut by the skate of teammate David Backes on Saturday.

It was a scary incident, but McQuaid has been cleared to play on Monday against Ottawa. He was held out of Sunday's practice, though.
Mar 6 - 9:53 AM

Adam McQuaid contributed a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 6-5 shootout loss to Detroit.

His first goal of the season gave Boston a 5-4 lead going into the third after the Bruins blew a 4-1 advantage. McQuaid has three points and 47 penalty minutes in 43 games this season.
