Tim Wallace scored his first goal with Carolina on Monday.

His marker gave the Hurricanes a 1-1 tie with the New York Islanders after the first period en route to a 6-4 victory. In four outings with Carolina, Wallace has one point, 15 penalty minutes and three shots. Andreas Nodl picked up an assist on his goal for his first point of the season as well. Neither player should be on your fantasy radar.

The 28-year-old forward would add some much-needed size to the lineup if he can beat out Drayson Bowman, Zach Boychuk, Jeremy Welsh and Zac Daple for a place on the team. Wallace played in 49 games in 2011-12 between the New York Islanders and Tampa Bay Lightning.

Tim Wallace has signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Carolina Hurricanes.

"Tim is a versatile forward and played well with Tampa Bay to finish the year," said Hurricanes VP of Hockey Operations Ron Francis. "He has a good amount of pro experience and should challenge for a spot with the Hurricanes in training camp." Wallace will make $700,000 if he spends the season in the NHL or $105,000 in the minors.
