James van Riemsdyk started camp skating alongisde Nazem Kadri and Matt Frattin.

James van Riemsdyk has now gone 23 games without registering a point on the power play.

That's really remarkable given how much ice time he gets with the man advantage. JVR has had a nice season, socring 30 goals, but he's going to have to increase his production on the power play if the Leafs and his owners are to be truly satisfied with his output.

James van Riemsdyk registered six shots and picked up his 30th goal of the year on Thursday night.

"Thirty is nice, but a lot of that has to do with the opportunity I've been given here," he said. "The coaching staff has shown confidence in me and I'm trying to take advantage of it." The 2013-14 season has been a coming out party for JVR, who was taken with the second overall pick in the 2007 draft by Philadelphia. He is one point away from hitting 60 on the year.

Van Riemsdyk left the game for about eight minutes and returned to the contest after he was checked out for a possible concussion. He picked up an assist on Jake Gardiner's second goal of the match after he came back. He appears to be OK which is good news for the Leafs and his fantasy owners. JVR has two helpers in his past two games, but he hasn't scored a goal in his last five outings.

If nothing surfaces shortly from the Leafs or JVR then consider him all systems go for Thursday's match against the Islanders.
