Jakub Voracek scored two goals in Philadelphia's 4-3 overtime win over Winnipeg
Voracek opened the scoring in the first period and scored the overtime winner. The 25-year-old's dream season continues. No one could have seen this kind of offensive production coming from Voracek this season. He has 14 goals and 44 points in 33 games this season. Mark Streit and Vincent Lecavalier also scored for the Flyers. Dec 21 - 11:44 PM

Jakub Voracek recorded four assists in the Flyers’ 7-4 win over the Leafs on Saturday night.

Voracek is having a career season, as he’s now taken over the NHL’s points lead with 42 in 32 games. The 25-year-old forms a dynamic one-two punch with Claude Giroux. Expect this trend to continue.
Dec 20 - 10:15 PM

Jakub Voracek scored once in regulation and again in the shootout, but it was not enough to earn the Flyers a victory on Thursday night as they fell 2-1 to the Panthers.

Voracek tied the game in the second period with his 38th point in just 31 games so far this season. The 25 year-old has three goals and two assists in his past five games.
Dec 18 - 10:33 PM

Jaromir Jagr isn't surprised by the fact that Jakub Voracek is in the race for the scoring title.

"He always had the talent," Jagr said. Voracek and Jagr were both born in Kladno, Czech Republic and played together in Philadelphia in 2011-12. Voracek feels that Jagr had a strong influence on him during their time as teammates, but Jagr doesn't want to take credit for his success. "I think what helped Jake a lot, in my opinion, he got into better shape than he was before," Jagr said. "I don't think he changed as a player. Maybe he's got more confidence, but he changed the body. He is in better shape."
Dec 12 - 10:53 AM

Jakub Voracek scored a goal and an assist in Saturday's loss to the New York Rangers.

Voracek continues to stay hot this season. The 25-year-old has nine goals and 32 points in 23 games this season. Voracek now trails only Sidney Crosby (33 points) for the scoring lead in the NHL. Not many people expected Voracek to be this good this year, but he is showing no signs of slowing down. Even with Voracek's production, the Flyers have still lost eight of their last nine games.
Nov 29 - 3:46 PM

Jakub Voracek had two assists on Friday and now leads the NHL with 26 points.

He is one better than the Penguins Sidney Crosby and has seven goals and 19 assists in only 16 games. Voracek is on pace for a 133 point season but he will not be able to keep up this pace and an 80-90 point season is far likelier if he can remain healthy. His best season ever was 62 points last season and it appears that he is going to smash that mark.
Nov 16 - 7:56 AM

Jakub Voracek scored a goal and added an assist in Philadelphia's 4-3 loss to Columbus on Friday.

Voracek did some damage against his former team, but the Flyers couldn't grind out the win. The power play marker was his seventh of the season. The 25-year-old has been phenomenal this season. Voracek now has 22 points in 14 games this season, and is currently on pace to surpass the 100-point mark for the first time in his career. He probably won't reach that total, but he is still a strong fantasy play.
Nov 14 - 10:01 PM

Flyers coach Craig Berube sees similarities between retired NHLer Mark Recchi and Jakub Voracek.

"Quickness and competitiveness stand out to me, and playmaking with the pucks," said Berube. "Mark Recchi was a real good passer and playmaker who could finish. Jake is getting to that level where he can finish which is dangerous." Recchi had 1,533 points in 1,652 career games, so he's obviously someone worthy of emulation. That being said, Voracek is past the point where he needs to be compared to a former or current great to prop him up. He's already developed into a top-tier forward in his own right and is an early contender for the Art Ross Trophy with 22 points in 14 contests.
Nov 13 - 5:08 AM

Jakub Voracek found the back of the net twice on Tuesday as the Flyers defeated Edmonton by a score of 4-1.

The start to Voracek's season has been blistering and his 18 points place him in a tie for the league scoring lead. He has impressively recorded points in six straight games with five of those outings being of the multi-point variety. Luke Schenn and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare also counted for Philadelphia in the win.
Nov 4 - 10:18 PM

Jakub Voracek recorded two assists in Philadelphia's 3-2 overtime win against Los Angeles.

Voracek now is on a three-game multi-point streak. He's tied with Tyler Toffoli for third in the NHL with 13 points in nine contests.
Oct 29 - 9:09 AM

Jakub Voracek was among six different goal scorers for the Flyers in their 6-5 overtime win against the Stars on Saturday night.

Credit the Flyers in this one for not packing it in. After giving up three straight goals in the second period to go down 4-2, the Flyers tied it twice in the third and won it on a Claude Giroux power-play goal in overtime. Voracek has points in all five games this season, with seven total. Expect a season with over 25 goals and 60-plus points. Brayden Schenn, Michael Raffl, Sean Couturier and Andrew MacDonald scored the other goals. MacDonald and Giroux also had assists as well, while Mark Streit finished with two helpers of his own.

Jakub Voracek scored the game-tying goal in Philadelphia's 4-3 shootout loss to Anaheim.

Voracek also extended his point streak to four games. He recently expressed his belief that he could reach the 80-point mark and while he might not do quite that well in 2014-15, he's certainly capable of coming close.
Oct 15 - 6:10 AM

Jakub Voracek had an assist in Philadelphia's 6-4 loss on Thursday.

Voracek also had an assist in the Flyers' season opener on Wednesday. We think he's capable of surpassing his 2013-14 point total of 62.
Oct 10 - 11:09 AM

Jakub Voracek believes he has an 80-point season in him.

Voracek had 23 goals and 62 points in 82 games last season, although it's worth adding that he averaged nearly a point-per-game in the shortened season. Regardless, while he'd like to crack the 80-point mark, his greater focus is on being a great two-way defenseman. With that in mind, he wants to emulate Patrice Bergeron or Jonathan Toews more than Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin.
