Jakub Voracek recorded an assist in a 3-1 loss to the New York Islanders on Wednesday.
Voracek had a terrible start to the season, but he seems to have thawed out lately. He still has just 12 points in 22 contests, but seven of those points have come in his last six games. Nov 26 - 11:47 AM

Jakub Voracek had two assists in a 3-2 overtime win against Carolina.

Voracek has now recorded at least two points in three of his last five games. He got off to a sluggish start this season, but that could also be said for Philadelphia's offense as a whole. Regardless, the Flyers need more from Voracek than they were initially getting from him and it will be a huge boost to them if he's turned a corner.
Nov 24 - 6:31 AM

Jakub Voracek is slated to start Monday's game with Pierre-Edouard Bellemare and Chris VandeVelde.

That is Philadelphia's fourth line. Claude Giroux is projected to play between Michael Raffl and Brayden Schenn. Voracek's demotion probably won't last very long and he'll likely still see power-play time, but he isn't upset with the decision.
Nov 23 - 4:58 PM

Philadelphia has scored two or fewer goals in four of its last five games.

That's part of a much longer trend as the Flyers are averaging a league-worst 1.79 goals per game. "We try to score goals but we got to be patient," Jakub Voracek said following San Jose's 1-0 overtime win against Philadelphia on Thursday. "The games are going to look more and more like that. We had a few chances. They had a few chances. The goalies were outstanding." Voracek has become the poster child for the Flyers' offensive woes as he has just one goal and nine points in 19 games this season. That being said, he did have four points in two contests prior to this shutout, so perhaps we're seeing the beginning of his comeback.
Nov 20 - 11:20 AM

Jakub Voracek picked a great time to finally score his first goal of the season.

Voracek's goal came 37 seconds into overtime to lead Philadelphia to a 3-2 victory over Carolina. He also had an assist Saturday night, giving him seven points in 17 games this season. That's still a far cry from what we expected of him, but perhaps ending his goal scoring drought will serve as a catalyst for him.
Nov 14 - 11:57 PM

Jakub Voracek has yet to score in 16 games this season.

Voracek has only five assists after finishing fourth in NHL scoring last season. Linemate Claude Giroux knows what his teammate is going through as Giroux was goalless in his first 15 games last season. "It was the worst moment of my life," Giroux recalled on Friday. "It becomes mental and physically, you feel good and want to play good and you think you are doing the right things and it’s just that one goal. You get that, you can have a breather. He’s been playing great the last few games and he’s been a great leader for us." Voracek is a great buy-low candidate if you can pry him from some disgruntled owner.
Nov 14 - 7:20 AM

Jakub Voracek and the Philadelphia Flyers dropped a 4-0 decision to the Colorado Avalanche.

Voracek has scored at least 22 goals in each of his last three seasons, but he's yet to find the back of the net in 15 games this season. This is a slump that no one could have predicted and it's normal for fantasy owners to be frustrated with his lack of production. The Flyers had no jump in this game and they were badly outplayed by the Avalanche. Philadelphia didn't have a ton of quality scoring chances and they were outshot 40-25 in the game. Fantasy owners should remain patient with Voracek, as his fantasy value is at an all-time low.
Nov 10 - 9:53 PM

Jakub Voracek registered an assist in a 4-1 loss to Vancouver on Monday.

Voracek was reunited with Claude Giroux for Monday's contest and the latter was the one who scored the goal. Voracek has struggled mightily this season with just four points in 11 games.
Nov 3 - 9:45 AM

Jakub Voracek and Michael Raffl are back on the top line with Claude Giroux.

The trio was split early in Friday's 3-1 loss against Buffalo. Voracek and Raffl haven't scored a goal yet this season.
Nov 2 - 5:53 PM

Jakub Voracek has only three points in 10 games this season.

The winger led the NHL in points for most of last season before faltering a bit at the end of the season but still managed to finish tied for fourth overall with 81 points. It has been a different story this season but his agent Petr Svoboda says it has nothing to do with his signing an eight-year/$66 million deal in July. "I don’t think it is the contract," Svoboda said. "He is not the kind of guy that thinks about that. He is playing well, but they’re not going in. I have confidence it will happen. He gets one and they’ll come pouring in." Voracek has yet to find the back of the net and has been taken off the Claude Giroux line so things are going in the opposite direction at this time for Voracek.
Oct 31 - 8:12 AM

Jakub Voracek has been taken off of the top line.

Voracek has traditionally gelled with Claude Giroux, but he has no goals and three assists in nine games this season. We'll see if playing alongside Scott Laughton will Brayden Schenn will help Voracek break out of his slump. In the long run, we expect Voracek and Giroux to be reunited.
Oct 30 - 6:27 PM

Jakub Voracek isn't concerned about his sluggish start to the 2015-16 campaign.

He has no goals and one assist in four contests this season. "Four games [of not scoring] is nothing," Voracek said Sunday as the Flyers returned to practice at the Skate Zone in Voorhees after having Saturday off. "As long as we are winning games." He got off to a very productive start in 2014-15, to the point where he didn't record his third scoreless contest until Nov. 24. He's still playing with Claude Giroux though and as long as that remains true, his slow start doesn't concern us much.
Oct 19 - 10:47 AM

The pairing of Jakub Voracek and Claude Giroux is expected to be an integral part of the Philadelphia Flyers for several years.

Voracek is signed through the 2024 and Giroux's current deal doesn't expire until 2022. They combined for 154 points last season, with Voracek accounting for 59 assists (second in the NHL) and 81 points in 82 games. "I think we can get better because we've gotten better every single year we've played together so far," Voracek said. "So I don't see the reason why we can't get better." He added that the duo could've been more consistent for periods of the 2014-15 campaign, which he is aiming to correct this year. New coach Dave Hakstol may experiment with his lines, but Voracek and Giroux will probably start the season on the same unit.
Aug 7 - 2:02 PM

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed Jakub Voracek to an eight-year, $66 million contract.

That's a $8.25 million annual cap hit, although it won't kick in until 2016-17 as Voracek still has a season left on his existing four-year, $17 million deal. He had 81 points in 82 contests last season, so as long as he maintains that high level of play, that high cap hit will look justified. That's not a terrible bet for Philadelphia to make and we don't really find fault with the Flyers locking up one of the league's top forwards for the long haul.
Jul 30 - 6:00 PM

Contract talks between Jakub Voracek and the Flyers are ongoing.

Voracek will be in the last season of a four-year, $17 million contract, and the Flyers would like to get him extended on a long-term deal. "There is no deadline in something like this," general manager Ron Hextall said. Hextall added that he'd like to get this done before the end of training camp. The 25-year-old Voracek had 22 goals and 81 points last season. He's probably in line to make around $7 million a season.
