Jakub Voracek had two assists on Friday and now leads the NHL with 26 points.
He is one better than the Penguins Sidney Crosby and has seven goals and 19 assists in only 16 games. Voracek is on pace for a 133 point season but he will not be able to keep up this pace and an 80-90 point season is far likelier if he can remain healthy. His best season ever was 62 points last season and it appears that he is going to smash that mark. Nov 16 - 7:56 AM

Jakub Voracek scored a goal and added an assist in Philadelphia's 4-3 loss to Columbus on Friday.

Voracek did some damage against his former team, but the Flyers couldn't grind out the win. The power play marker was his seventh of the season. The 25-year-old has been phenomenal this season. Voracek now has 22 points in 14 games this season, and is currently on pace to surpass the 100-point mark for the first time in his career. He probably won't reach that total, but he is still a strong fantasy play.

Flyers coach Craig Berube sees similarities between retired NHLer Mark Recchi and Jakub Voracek.

"Quickness and competitiveness stand out to me, and playmaking with the pucks," said Berube. "Mark Recchi was a real good passer and playmaker who could finish. Jake is getting to that level where he can finish which is dangerous." Recchi had 1,533 points in 1,652 career games, so he's obviously someone worthy of emulation. That being said, Voracek is past the point where he needs to be compared to a former or current great to prop him up. He's already developed into a top-tier forward in his own right and is an early contender for the Art Ross Trophy with 22 points in 14 contests.
Nov 13 - 5:08 AM

Jakub Voracek found the back of the net twice on Tuesday as the Flyers defeated Edmonton by a score of 4-1.

The start to Voracek's season has been blistering and his 18 points place him in a tie for the league scoring lead. He has impressively recorded points in six straight games with five of those outings being of the multi-point variety. Luke Schenn and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare also counted for Philadelphia in the win.
Nov 4 - 10:18 PM

Jakub Voracek recorded two assists in Philadelphia's 3-2 overtime win against Los Angeles.

Voracek now is on a three-game multi-point streak. He's tied with Tyler Toffoli for third in the NHL with 13 points in nine contests.
Oct 29 - 9:09 AM

Jakub Voracek was among six different goal scorers for the Flyers in their 6-5 overtime win against the Stars on Saturday night.

Credit the Flyers in this one for not packing it in. After giving up three straight goals in the second period to go down 4-2, the Flyers tied it twice in the third and won it on a Claude Giroux power-play goal in overtime. Voracek has points in all five games this season, with seven total. Expect a season with over 25 goals and 60-plus points. Brayden Schenn, Michael Raffl, Sean Couturier and Andrew MacDonald scored the other goals. MacDonald and Giroux also had assists as well, while Mark Streit finished with two helpers of his own.

Jakub Voracek scored the game-tying goal in Philadelphia's 4-3 shootout loss to Anaheim.

Voracek also extended his point streak to four games. He recently expressed his belief that he could reach the 80-point mark and while he might not do quite that well in 2014-15, he's certainly capable of coming close.
Oct 15 - 6:10 AM

Jakub Voracek had an assist in Philadelphia's 6-4 loss on Thursday.

Voracek also had an assist in the Flyers' season opener on Wednesday. We think he's capable of surpassing his 2013-14 point total of 62.
Oct 10 - 11:09 AM

Jakub Voracek believes he has an 80-point season in him.

Voracek had 23 goals and 62 points in 82 games last season, although it's worth adding that he averaged nearly a point-per-game in the shortened season. Regardless, while he'd like to crack the 80-point mark, his greater focus is on being a great two-way defenseman. With that in mind, he wants to emulate Patrice Bergeron or Jonathan Toews more than Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin.

Jakub Voracek had a goal and two assists in Philadelphia's 5-4 victory over Washington.

Obviously, preseason statistics can't be read into too deeply, but it is worth noting as the Flyers try to get off to a stronger start than they had in 2013-14. Philadelphia struggled mightily out of the gate last season and Voracek was no exception with just four points in 11 October contests.
Sep 23 - 10:40 AM

Philadelphia Flyers winger Jakub Voracek said he's coming to training camp down 10 lbs. from last season.

He's opting to add quickness and the possible loss of strength. As long as he keeps firing pucks on net and skating alongside Claude Giroux, he should be a fantastic option in fantasy.
Sep 16 - 6:26 PM

Philadelphia Flyers owner Ed Snider said that he thinks Jakub Voracek "could be a superstar."

That might be a bit much, yet Voracek is a fantastic talent who just seems to be getting more confident. His shots-per-game have risen every single season, going up to an impressive 2.87 per contest (235 in 82 games played) last season. Voracek should be getting plenty of great looks to unleash his shot skating with genuine superstar Claude Giroux.
Sep 13 - 3:17 PM

Jakub Voracek scored the game-winning goal in the second period of Friday's Game 4, lifting the Flyers to a 2-1 win over the Rangers and knotting up the series 2-2.

Voracek's second tally of the playoffs came on the power play midway through the game, with Brayden Schenn and Mark Streit drawing the assists. The goal allows the Flyers to fly back to New York with the series tied in advance of Sunday afternoon's Game 5. The Rangers had the upper hand in Game 4, outshooting the Flyers by a wide margin, but clutch scoring and goaltending allowed the Flyers to escape victorious.
Apr 25 - 10:20 PM

Philadelphia enjoyed scoring by committee on Sunday as multiple players contributed to the Flyers' 4-2 win against the New York Rangers in Game 2, tying the series at 1-1.

Jakub Voracek was one of those people who found the net, scoring a goal on a nice power move. There seems to be little reason to hesitate investing premium fantasy picks/assets in a player who's clearly Claude Giroux's running mate.
