Logan Couture scored two goals and had an assist in Wednesday night’s 4-1 victory of the San Jose Sharks over the LA Kings.
Couture provided an assist on the first goal of the night at the 3:32 minute mark of the first and scored his own at 19:05. He padded his stat with an empty net goal at the 18:43 minute mark of the third in what might have been a simple attempt to clear the puck. Couture has scored in seven of his last 11 games, but this is the first time in 2016 that he scored two goals in one game. Dec 1 - 1:31 AM

Logan Couture chipped in a goal on Saturday, yet the San Jose Sharks still lost 3-2 on the Anaheim Ducks.

This marks the seventh goal of the 2016-17 season for Couture. Couture's had a bit of a slow season (12 points in 22 games), but he's been heating up lately with three goals in his past four contests. Mediocre linemates haven't helped matters for Couture, but one would still expect him to produce more offense as the season goes along.
Nov 27 - 3:28 AM

Logan Couture scored in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues.

Couture netted the first goal of the game at the 6:16 mark of the first period. Despite getting plenty of ice time, Couture has been unproductive this year. He has four goals and five assists in 17 games this season. Don't be surprised if he turns it around fairly soon. He's an excellent buy-low candidate.
Nov 17 - 11:14 PM

Logan Couture hasn't scored a 5-on-5 goal yet this season.

Overall Couture has three goals and eight points in 16 games, which is well below what we'd expect from him. "I’m not scoring and obviously it’s frustrating when you’re not scoring and you’re counted on to be an offensive player on the team," said Couture. "I need to produce offensively, I know that, I realize that. But this isn’t an individual sport. There are a lot of guys that need to get going here, myself included. Hopefully, we can figure it out soon." Couture's shooting percentage is just 5.9% right now an that's very low for him. It should raise substantially as the season drags on.
Nov 17 - 11:29 AM

Logan Couture has gone eight straight games without scoring a goal.

"I feel like the last couple I’ve had a lot of chances," Couture said. "It’s gotten better. I think I went through a couple games where it wasn’t up to par. That’s going to happen over an 82-game season, but I expect a lot out of myself, and obviously want to contribute offensively." Couture has registered two assists over that span. We don't imagine that this goal scoring slump will last too much longer.
Nov 5 - 11:00 AM

Logan Couture had a goal and an assist in San Jose's 2-1 win against Los Angeles Wednesday night.

Couture was limited to 15 goals and 36 points in 52 contests last season, but he shined in the playoffs with 30 points in 24 contests. If he can stay healthy in 2016-17, he could end up surpassing the 60-point mark.
Oct 13 - 11:22 AM

Logan Couture has been added to Team Canada's roster for the upcoming World Cup of Hockey.

Couture will take injured Stars forward Jamie Benn's place on the roster. The Sharks forward suffered a broken fibula in October and came back to score 15 goals and 36 points in 52 games last season. He caught fire in the playoffs, as he added 10 goals and 30 points in all 24 of San Jose's games.
Aug 23 - 12:09 PM

Logan Couture has been bulking up in the off-season.

He is reportedly 10 pounds heavier than his listed weight of 200 for the 2015-16 season. Couture wants to be strong to battle with the top players in the Pacific Division and he wants to be in top condition after playing in 52 games last season.
Aug 11 - 4:42 PM

Logan Couture scored in San Jose's 3-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final.

The loss means the Sharks are eliminated and the Penguins claim the 2016 Stanley Cup. Couture tied the game at one with his goal at the 6:27 mark of the second period. Unfortunately for San Jose, Pittsburgh tied the game just 1:19 later. Melker Karlsson and Brent Burns picked up the assists on the Sharks' only goal. Couture finishes the postseason with an incredible 10 goals and 30 points in 24 games. No player had more playoff points than Couture in 2016.
Jun 12 - 10:54 PM

Logan Couture is playing some of the best hockey of his career in the playoffs after suffering a scary injury during the regular season.

He missed 30 of the team's first 35 games because of a fractured ankle and a leg injury. When he returned on Dec. 8, he suffered internal bleeding in his right thigh in just his second game back. "We flew back home [from Edmonton] and my leg just kept swelling bigger and bigger," Couture said. "So they had to stop the bleeding somehow. They were able to do that, fortunately, before it got worse. My leg was just continuously filling with blood and it could have gotten to the point where you don't know what's going to happen – if you're going to lose your leg or die. So they caught it pretty quickly, which was good." Couture leads the playoffs in scoring with 29 points in 23 games after he generated 36 points over 52 appearances in the regular season.
Jun 11 - 6:25 PM

Logan Couture has recorded 29 points in the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

That places him in a tie for the fourth-most by any player in a playoff year since 1997. Couture is certainly in the running for the Conn Smythe Trophy if the Sharks manage to rally and win the Cup, but he could get some consideration even if the Penguins become the champion.
Jun 10 - 4:04 PM

The NHL's top playoff scorer was at it again in Game 5 on Thursday night, as Logan Couture scooped up three points and helped the Sharks stave off elimination with a 4-2 victory.

Couture's goal and two assists now give him nine goals and 20 assists in 23 games this spring. Couture was held off the scoresheet in Games 3 and 4, but came through when his team needed him most in an elimination game.
Jun 9 - 11:28 PM

Logan Couture doesn't feel his previous comments about Sidney Crosby cheating on the draw should be regarded as controversial.

"Our centers do it. [Anze] Kopitar does it. [Jeff] Carter does it. Everyone does it. I do it," Couture said. "Some guys get away with it. Some guys, the ref will stop it. That’s what happens on faceoffs." Couture went as far as to say that Joe Thornton is pretty good with getting away with moving early. Couture's initial comments came after Pittsburgh won roughly 55% of the draws in Game 2. Crosby had a 71% success rate while Couture was at 40%.
Jun 3 - 6:27 PM

Logan Couture registered an assist in San Jose's 2-1 overtime loss to Pittsburgh Wednesday night.

Couture is on a four-game point streak. He has eight goals and 26 points in 20 playoff contests. Unfortunately his recent efforts haven't been enough to prevent the Sharks from falling behind 2-0 against the Penguins in the Stanley Cup Final.
Jun 2 - 9:29 AM

Logan Couture and the Sharks want to put more pressure on Pittsburgh goalie Matt Murray in Game 2 on Wednesday night.

"We've got to hit the net more," Couture said. "We had a lot of chances where we missed the net. We hit the net and force him to make saves, there's going to be rebounds, and we can probably score on those shots." San Jose had only 26 shots on goal Monday night in the Stanley Cup Final opener.
