Logan Couture (fractured fibula) hit the ice for the first time since being injured.

"That was the first day of skating pretty good, just doing some conditioning," Couture said. "It’s cliché, but it’s day-by-day. [If] it reacts well we go a step further. I couldn’t tell you what the plan is for tomorrow yet." The 26-year-old has missed all but three of San Jose's games this season. There's still no timetable for his return, but Saturday's news is positive.
Nov 21 - 5:01 PM

Logan Couture is still a ways away from starting to skate.

Although Couture will travel with the Sharks on their upcoming six-game road trip, he won't be ready to take part in practices before it concludes on Nov. 22. That makes his original four-to-six week timetable, which was based off of an Oct. 17 start, seem optimistic.
Nov 12 - 11:27 AM

Logan Couture (fractured fibula) has been taking steps towards his return.

"He's making strides, he's here, he's exercising and he's walking," Sharks coach Pete DeBoer said. "But the finish line is still in the distance." Couture might be able to return by the end of the month. He has an assist in three games this season.
Nov 10 - 9:24 AM

Logan Couture (fractured fibula) hasn't resumed skating yet.

"I don't know the time when I'm going to be back playing, skating, or anything like that," he said. "It's just kind of one step at a time – getting the staples out, to walking. It just takes time." Couture is wearing a walking boot now after having surgical staples removed from his ankle over the weekend, so he's encouraged that he's making some progress. He is about two-and-a-half weeks into his four-to-six week recovery time.
Nov 3 - 4:39 PM

Logan Couture remains on schedule after fracturing his right fibula on October 15.

The prognosis was four-six weeks so he is now two-four weeks away from returning. Couture's foot is still in a boot but he should be back by mid-late November. He had 27 goals and 67 points last season but had only an assist in three games before the injury.
Oct 31 - 9:03 AM

Logan Couture (ankle) has been placed on injured reserve by the Sharks.

San Jose made the move Monday in order to call up Bryan Lerg. Couture will be sidelined for four-to-six weeks with a fractured right fibula, so place him on IR and pick someone up from the waiver wire.
Oct 19 - 11:49 AM

Logan Couture has a fractured right fibula and will miss four-to-six weeks as a result.

Couture sustained the injury during Thursday's practice. This is a big blow for San Jose as it looks to build off of its hot start. Couture only had an assist in the Sharks' first three games, but he's coming off of a season where he recorded 67 points.
Oct 16 - 10:31 AM

Logan Couture sustained a lower-body injury during Thursday's practice.

Couture needed help getting off the ice and was later seen using crutches as he exited the building. There's been no official update on the severity of his injury, but it obviously doesn't sound good. He has an assist in three games this season after recording 67 points in 2014-15.
Oct 15 - 3:04 PM

Logan Couture believes the Sharks have a nucleus that can win.

The Sharks missed the playoffs for the first time in 11 seasons during the 2014-15 campaign. The new season brings a new coach, Peter DeBoer, along with several new players, Martin Jones, Joel Ward and Paul Martin. But the team will continue to lean on its core, specifically Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau. "I talked to (GM) Doug (Wilson) a couple times throughout the summer, and we want to win," Couture said. "San Jose does. That’s our goal. We realize our best players, Jumbo and Patty, are getting a little bit older. I think we have the core to win, and Doug went out and got some very good players. Paul, Martin Jones, Joel, they’re just going to help us."
Jul 25 - 9:35 PM

Logan Couture thinks that rather than a coaching change, the Sharks need a culture change.

"Not great," Couture said about the team's culture. "That's my personal opinion, and that's all I'm going to say about it." Although the Sharks missed the playoffs in 2014-15 for the just the first time since the salary cap era began, they've often been seen as underperformers when compared to the talent on their roster. With that in mind, it's easy to buy into the idea that the Sharks have a culture problem. Couture also noted that he was disappointed when the Sharks blowing a 3-0 series lead to Los Angeles in the 2014 playoffs didn't lead to the team being hungrier in 2014-15.
Apr 17 - 11:38 AM

Logan Couture had an assist in a 3-1 win over Edmonton on Thursday.

Couture has recorded at least a point in six of his last eight games. He has 27 goals and a career-high 67 points in 81 games in 2014-15.
Apr 10 - 11:44 AM

Logan Couture bumped his personal point streak up to five games with a goal and an assist in Friday's 3-1 win over the Coyotes.

Couture scored just 58 seconds into the game off an unfair snap-shot sent far-side against the grain. He'd later pick up an assist on Joe Pavelski's tally just 4:02 later. Couture has four goals and eight points during his current streak, bringing his totals up to 27 goals and 69 points on the season.
Apr 4 - 2:25 AM

Logan Couture recorded a goal and an assist in the Ducks 5-1 win over the Avalanche on Wednesday.

Couture's 26th of the year was an empty-netter but they all count the same in fantasy. He was also a plus-2 on the night and continued a hot stretch that has seen him garner points in four straight games (3G,3A). Patrick Marleau picked up his 18th goal in the win while Brent Burns added two assists in the must win for the Sharks.
Apr 2 - 1:30 AM

Logan Couture scored a goal in Sunday's 3-2 shootout loss to Pittsburgh.

The Sharks found themselves down 2-0 after the first period but they were able to bounce-back and force a shootout. Unfortunately for San Jose, they weren't able to beat Marc-Andre Fleury on their shootout attempts. Couture now has 25 goals and 62 points in 76 games this season. The 26-year-old has hit the 25-goal mark for the third time in his career and the first time since 2011-12. The Sharks finish off their seven-game East Coast road trip with a 3-3-1 record.
