Brandon Sutter scored in his first game back after missing 33 games due to sports hernia surgery.
Sutter's goal was a beauty off a give-and-go rush with Daniel Sedin. He was playing on the first line with Sedin and Jannik Hansen with Henrik Sedin out of the lineup. He is worth a stream play as long as he is playing with a Sedin. The goal was his fifth of the season. Daniel Sedin and Christopher Tanev picked up assists on the lone Canucks tally of the night. Brandon Sutter (sports hernia surgery) will make his return on Tuesday.

"There's no holding back and that's why we were cautious with it (recovery)," Sutter said. "They (doctors) said you're not coming back until you're 100 per cent. A week ago, it would have been 70 percent, but I feel strong and ready to jump right into the fire." Sutter has four goals and eight points in 16 games this season. He is projected to play on the top line with Daniel Sedin and Jannik Hansen.

The Vancouver Canucks are expected to have Brandon Sutter (sports hernia surgery) back in the lineup Tuesday.

Sutter has been out of action since November 10 with the injury. He has four goals and eight points in 16 games but the Canucks really miss his grit on the ice. Get ready to activate him if you normally would have him in your lineup.

Brandon Sutter is getting closer to returning to the lineup from sports hernia surgery.

He skated with his teammates for the second straight day Tuesday. Sutter may not play until the Canucks are back at home for next Tuesday's versus the Nashville Predators. That would keep him out for at least this week's action.

Brandon Sutter (sports hernia) skated on his own Saturday.

He has done that a few times as he recovers from sports hernia surgery. Sutter is still more than a week away from being ready to return to the lineup.

Brandon Sutter had successful surgery to repair a sports hernia on Tuesday.

He is expected to be sidelined for another four-to-six weeks. Sutter hasn't played since Nov. 10 because of an abdominal issue. In 16 games this season, he has notched four goals and four assists.

Brandon Sutter has an abdominal strain and will miss at least two more weeks of action.

That's not good news for the Canucks who have relied on Sutter's defensive prowess at center this season. Sutter had four goals and eight points in 16 games before his injury.

Sutter hasn't been able to play since Nov. 10. "We'll hopefully know more later today, but he's been out longer than we expected," Canucks coach Willie Desjardins. Sutter has four goals and eight points in 16 games this season.

Brandon Sutter netted a goal for the Canucks in their 3-2 overtime loss to the Red Wings on Saturday night.

Sutter has three goals and three assists, so maybe general manager Jim Benning was onto something when he called him a "franchise piece" when he acquired him this offseason. Even though he’s off to a fast start, he’s still nothing more than a 40-point player. Chris Tanev got the other goals, while Alexandre Burrows had two helpers.

Brandon Sutter had his best game in some time with a goal and two assists, unfortunately the Canucks fell 4-3 to the Blues on Friday night.

With that, Sutter now has two goals and five points on the young season. Sutter is after all coming off a career high 21 goals, and who knows, may be this is the year he finally cracks 50 points.
Sat, Oct 17, 2015 01:14:00 AM

Brandon Sutter had a goal and an assist in the Canucks' 5-1 victory Wednesday night.

Sutter logged 20:47 minutes, including 2:56 with the man advantage. He's been given the opportunity to play a big role with Vancouver, which could lead to him being significantly more productive than he was with Pittsburgh. He's never recorded more than 40 points in a single season and that was back in 2009-10, but he might end up having some fantasy value in standard leagues this season.
