Los Angeles Kings prospect Oscar Moller suffered a ligament injury and could be out of action until February.
Moller was highly regarded coming out of junior hockey but struggled with the Kings and in their farm system and spent last season with Skelleftea in the Swedish Elite League where he had 31 points in 54 games. Oscar Moller received a qualifying offer from the Los Angeles Kings before the deadline.

Moller will likely play this season in his native Sweden but the Kings still had to qualify him in order to retain his rights. Moller is still highly regarded by the Kings and is only 22 years of age so it is likely that he will eventually return to the NHL. Stay tuned.

The Los Angeles Kings will have to offer Oscar Moller a qualifying offer by June 27th if he signs with a Swedish Elite team.

Should the Kings offer him a ten percent increase over his entry level contract, Moller will remain the property of the Kings, even if he plays in Sweden. It is thought that should Moller sign in Sweden he will have an out clause allowing him to return to the NHL. Moller is still highly regarded but the Kings do have a lot of prospects in their system.

It is believed that Oscar Moller will play in Sweden next season.

Although it is not clear if he has already signed with a Swedish Elite League team, he has been in talks with them. His contract would likely include an "out" clause so that he could return to the Los Angeles Kings in the future. Moller excelled at the AHL level in 2010-11, but he had just four points in 13 games with the Kings.

Tough guy Kevin Westgarth will remain in the Kings lineup for Game 1 versus San Jose. He skated on the fourth line with Alexei Ponikarovsky and Trevor Lewis in Thursday's morning session.

Even after the ankle injury was suffered by Anze Kopitar, Moller's spot on the top unit was secure as he played alongside Dustin Penner and Michal Handzus. The Swede recorded 50 points in 59 games in the AHL this season so he has the talent to be a decent short-term play in fantasy leagues.

Oscar Moller will line up with Anze Kopitar and Dustin Penner on the top line when the Kings play San Jose on Thursday.

Moller had 50 points in 59 AHL games this season as he was an emergency recall with the shoulder injury to Jason Williams, an injury that will keep him out of action for three-four weeks. "This is a great opportunity for Oscar, and I think he's very aware of it," coach Terry Murray said. "You've got to play with a playoff attitude, and he's going to be on a top line with lots of responsibilities to play five on five and also get on the special teams." He is worth a pickup if you are in need of offense at this time.

The Los Angeles Kings have promoted Oscar Moller from the minors.

The Kings called up Moller in response to Justin Williams' injury. Williams won't return before the end of the regular season, so it's possible that Moller will play in all nine of the Kings' remaining games.

With the upcoming return of Brad Richardson, Oscar Moller is likely to be a healthy scratch for the Kings as they take on Chicago Sunday night.

Coach Terry Murray commented on the situation, saying "I know he had a couple points there last night, but I’m going to make that change and get Richie [Brad Richardson] going again. Moller continues to be talked about among the Kings top prospects' but we have yet to see him excel at the top level. There's still time for him to develop so be patient.

Oscar Moller has been sent to the minors by the Los Angeles Kings.

Moller will report to Manchester of the AHL. Moller is still an outstanding prospect but the Kings sent him down after acquiring Jeff Halpern and Fredrik Modin at yesterday's trade deadline. Moller has only four goals and seven points in 34 games this season.
