Joakim Andersson will be scratched Wednesday night against the visiting Ottawa Senators.

The third round pick in 2007 (88th overall) has one goal in 28 games and this is the third straight scratch. He's survived placement on the waiver wire, subsequent demotion and recall where he didn't dress from the Grand Rapid Griffins so far this season.
Feb 10 - 7:01 PM

Joakim Andersson has been summoned from the minors.

He has one goal and two assists in 24 appearances with the Red Wings this season. Andersson didn't see any action with Grand Rapids during his brief demotion.
Jan 26 - 2:47 PM

Joakim Andersson has been reassigned to AHL Grand Rapids.

Andersson has but three points through 26 games this season, and 36 in 202 career games, so unless he really tears it up down on the farm we'd expect to not hear much about him.
Jan 24 - 3:13 PM

Joakim Andersson will be scratched from Saturday's match with Anaheim.

With three points in 26 games, and not much else to his credit, there's really no reason to pick Andersson up even the deepest of pools.

Jan 23 - 6:26 PM

Joakim Andersson cleared waivers on Saturday.

The Wings placed Andersson on waivers yesterday, but still decided to dress him in their game against Buffalo. Don't expect him to be sent to the minors. The 26-year-old has one goal and three points in 26 games this season.
Jan 23 - 4:17 PM

Despite being waived, Joakim Andersson will suit up against the Sabres on Friday.

It's strange turn of events, but the Red Wings need his services due to a flurry of injuries and ailments. They also need and want his cap space, but that can be achieved later. Andersson has three points in 25 games this season, so he's best left on your waiver wire.

Jan 22 - 6:17 PM

Joakim Andersson has been placed on waivers by the Detroit Red Wings.

Andersson has only played in two of Detroit's last six games. He has a goal and three points in 25 contests in 2015-16.
Jan 22 - 12:15 PM

Joakim Andersson will be in the press box when the Blues visit the Red Wings on Wednesday night.

Consecutive games as a scratch for the Swede drafted in the third round (88th overall). Dressing in three games over the past nine won't help any minuscule fantasy attraction.

Jan 20 - 7:46 PM

Joakim Andersson will probably spend Sunday's game in the press box.

Someone has to come out to make room for Teemu Pulkkinen, who is returning from a shoulder injury. Andersson has a goal and three points in 24 contests this season.
Jan 17 - 10:28 AM

Joakim Andersson will be scratched against the Ducks on Sunday night.

Andersson has played in just 23 games this season, and he's compiled just three points with little else to his credit so far. Unfortunately that means he belongs on the waiver wire.
Jan 10 - 5:25 PM

Look for Joakim Andersson to be in the lineup Saturday afternoon against the Sabres.

He was a healthy scratch against Pittsburgh on Thursday but will be needed as Tomas Jurco is dealing with an upper-body injury. Needless to say, Andersson has no fantasy value.
Jan 2 - 9:56 AM

Joakim Andersson will get to play in Saturday's match versus Nashville.

The Red Wings lost Teemu Pulkkinen and Drew Miller to injuries on Thursday and they both could be "out for a while." Detroit isn't planning any call ups yet, so Andersson may play in his first game since Nov. 14. He has no points in 11 games this season.
Fri, Dec 4, 2015 08:07:00 AM

Joakim Andersson will be reinserted into the Red Wings' lineup on Friday.

Andersson is expected to center the fourth line. He is in the lineup because Brad Richards is dealing with a lower-body injury.
Fri, Oct 23, 2015 03:13:00 PM

Joakim Andersson will be relegated to the press box once again

After making his season debut against Montreal playing eight minutes, it looks like the Swede will once again be a healthy scratch against the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday. Landon Ferraro will draw back into the lineup.
