Ian Cole scored a goal and added an assist for the Blues in Thursday's 2-1 win over Nashville.

It was a rare offensive outburst for the defensive-minded blueliner, as his point total has reached a whopping 10 on the season. Magnus Paajarvi also scored for the Blues in the win.
Mar 6 - 10:50 PM

Ian Cole will be back in the lineup Saturday night against the Ducks.

He was a healthy scratch Thursday night against the Kings. Jordan Leopold, who played in Cole's place against Los Angeles, will sit out against Anaheim Saturday.
Jan 18 - 1:51 PM

Ian Cole might be a healthy scratch Thursday night.

Jordan Leopold is expected to play against Los Angeles and if Cole sits then it will end a streak of 13 straight appearances for him.
Jan 16 - 12:26 PM

Ian Cole will get back into St. Louis' lineup Thursday night.

He served as a healthy scratch Monday. Cole has one goal and one assist in 13 games this season, to go with a plus-5 rating and 13 blocks.

Ian Cole scored in the NHL on Friday for the first time since Dec. 8, 2011.

Cole didn't want to celebrate the feat because the Blues still suffered a 6-3 loss to the San Jose Sharks. It's worth adding that he has found the back of the net in the AHL over the last two years. Either way, he doesn't have any fantasy value in standard leagues.

Ian Cole will fill in on St. Louis' back end, while Jordan Leopold is sidelined with a hand injury.

"He's a good player," coach Ken Hitchcock said. "He's really helped himself here by his attitude and everything. He's ready to go. I don't see us missing a beat." Cole has dressed in three games for the Blues this campaign, but he'll play much more now that Leopold is slated to miss at least two months.

Ian Cole played on Saturday after spending three games in the press box.

Cole had a plus-one rating in 13:43 minutes of playing time to help the Blues earn a 2-1 win over Pittsburgh. He was put back into the lineup because Jordan Leopold sustained a hand injury.
Sun, Nov 10, 2013 09:24:00 AM

Ian Cole will make his season debut on Friday.

Cole is entering the lineup because Barret Jackman is out with an upper-body injury. Cole had an assist in 15 games last season.

Ian Cole will get consideration for a roster spot with restricted free agent Alex Pietrangelo unsigned.

He will be competing with Ryan Whitney, who is attending Blues' training camp on a professional tryout offer. Cole has skated in 67 games with St. Louis over the last three seasons.

Updating a previous post, the St. Louis Blues announced they've re-signed Ian Cole to a two-year contract.

Cole played just 15 games for the Blues this season, registering one assist, 10 penalty minutes and a minus-4 rating. Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported the new deal will pay Cole $1.65 million over two years and is a one-way contract. Cole is unlikely to have much fantasy value going forward.

After playing 24:40 minutes on Saturday, Ian Cole saw only 14:44 minutes of action on Monday.

Cole has played in half of the Blues 12 games as he has been a healthy scratch in the other half-dozen. He had a tough time Monday as a puck jumped over his stick leading to a goal by Jeff Carter. He has only an assist in six games so he really should not be in your lineup.

Ian Cole believed he had scored the game-winning goal in overtime against the Ducks on Saturday, but the marker was waved off due to goaltender interference.

Patrik Berglund was shoved into Ducks goaltender Viktor Fasth on the play, but he didn't make enough of an effort to clear the area in the eyes of referee Greg Kimmerly for the goal to count. "You go from pretty high to shock almost," Cole said. "Like what just happened." The goal would have been the first of the season for the blue liner, who has had difficulty holding a regular spot in the lineup for the ultra-deep Blues.
Sun, Feb 10, 2013 09:04:00 AM

Ian Cole will get back into St. Louis' lineup on Thursday night.

He will replace Wade Redden, who is suffering from the flu, alongside Alex Pietrangelo. Cole hasn't played in the past three games for the Notes, but it isn't because the club was unhappy with his play. "We really like the way Colie is playing," coach Ken Hitchcock said. "We wanted to get Wade up and running with the team, but we liked how Cole was playing. He's just part of the group of seven. Spending all the time up here is good for him, it really helped him last year and we expect the same thing."
Thu, Jan 31, 2013 05:46:00 PM

Ian Cole was recalled, as expected, by St. Louis this afternoon.

He was sent down to the minors temporarily, so that Wade Redden could join the team's active roster. Cole and the Blues had to wait for Jeff Woywitka to clear waivers first, which he did. Redden will take Cole's spot in the lineup on Thursday night though.
