Carolina did not send a qualifying offer to Riley Nash, so he can become an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday afternoon.

He produced eight goals and 25 points in 68 games with the Hurricanes last year. Nash had a great start to the campaign with 15 points in his first 23 contests, but it was never believed to be sustainable. GM Ron Francis hasn't closed the door completely on bringing Nash back, though.

Riley Nash will miss his second consecutive game on Tuesday versus Washington with the concussion he suffered during warm-ups on Sunday against Boston.

No word yet on the severity of the concussion, nor the expected amount of time he may be sidelined for. But that has more to do with the nature of concussions than anything else. Through 68 games this season, Nash has accumulated eight goals, 25 points, 88 hits, and winning 51% of his 1,058 faceoffs.

Riley Nash might end missing more playing time after taking a puck to the head during the pregame warm-ups on Sunday.

Hurricanes coach Bill Peters didn't have an update on Nash's condition after the contest, but he did say that it "doesn't sound good." Read into that as you will, but it certainly makes it seem like there's cause for concern. Nash has eight goals and 25 points in 68 contests in 2014-15.

Riley Nash took a puck to the head during warm-ups ahead of Sunday's tilt with Boston, he was subsequently scratched from the game.

No word yet on the severity of the injury, nor the type. But there's no indication that it's a serious injury, either. Through 68 games this season, Nash has accumulated eight goals, 25 points, 88 hits, and winning 51% of his 1,058 faceoffs.
Mar 29 - 7:47 PM

Coach Bill Peters wants to get Riley Nash back in the lineup, so he could be in the lineup on Saturday.

We've got to get Riley back in," Peters said after Friday's practice. "He could be a winger tomorrow or he could be in the middle. We'll see." Nash worked on the fourth line with Jay McClement, Brad Malone and Pat Dwyer during Friday's session. He has been a healthy scratch for the last three games.
Mar 21 - 8:05 AM

Riley Nash will be scratched against the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night.

It'll be Nash's second straight game in the stands. He's posted just eight goals, 24 points, 44 blocks, 80 hits, while winning 51% of over 1,100 faceoffs this season over 64 games.

Riley Nash scored a goal in Carolina's 3-1 loss to Minnesota on Friday.

Nash's goal at the 15:18 mark of the second period tied the game one. Coming into the game, Nash had just three assists in his last 17 games and he hadn't scored since January 10th. The 25-year-old has eight goals and 23 points in 60 games this season. Jeff Skinner picked up the only assist on Nash's goal.
Mar 6 - 9:47 PM

Riley Nash and Chris Terry will be scratched on Thursday night against the Anaheim Ducks.

It's tough to see Nash continue to be scratched as he ranks fifth on the team in scoring with 20 points in 50 games, but he hasn't played since Feb. 3rd versus these same Ducks. Terry meanwhile has not produced, with just nine points in 35 games, neither can be recommended for your fantasy squad this season.
Feb 12 - 7:10 PM

Riley Nash, Chris Terry and Brett Bellemore will be healthy scratches in Thursday's game against Arizona.

Nash hasn't been terrible for the Hurricanes this year. He has produced seven goals and 20 points in 50 games this season. None of these three players have any fantasy value going forward.
Feb 5 - 8:58 PM

Riley Nash (undisclosed) was able to play in Tuesday's game.

Riley Nash suffered an undisclosed injury late in the third period Friday and did not return.

There were no updates after the game for the Hurricanes leading scorer so consider him day-to-day for now. Nash has four goals and 15 points in 22 games and has been one of the big surprises in the NHL in the first quarter of the season.

Riley Nash had a goal and an assist in the Hurricanes’ 4-3 overtime loss to the Capitals on Saturday night.

With four goals and six assists, the 25-year-old is well on his way to exceeding his 10-goal, 24-point 2013-14 campaign. That being said, he’s probably a player to monitor for another week or so. Nathan Gerbe and Elias Lindholm netted the other goals. Justin Faulk had two assists.

Riley Nash has taken over as the Carolina Hurricanes top center.

Granted, the injuries to Eric Staal and his brother Jordan have had everything to do with it, but Nash is centering Jiri Tlusty and Alexander Semin. He led the Hurricanes in power play time on ice Friday as well. Nash had only 24 points last season so it's easy to see why the Hurricanes are the only NHL team without a win.
