Anton Khudobin's job as Boston's backup goalie isn't secure going into next season.
"Anton is firmly in the mix. You look at what he did down the stretch and how can he not be. But that's the goalie we need," said GM Don Sweeney. "I can't have any doubts or reservations, so we're going to meet as a group to make sure we’re making the right decision. If someone passes Anton, whether it be Zane [McIntyre] or Malcolm [Subban], then we move in that direction. But we've been patient for the development standpoint to try and look internally. But it's a position we've sort of been chasing our tail on a little bit for a couple of years now. I'm very aware of it, do not run from it and I'd like it to be resolved." Boston may look outside of the organization for help in the crease as well to try to lighten the load for Tuukka Rask in 2017-18. Apr 28 - 9:15 AM

Anton Khudobin was back on the ice Tuesday after recovering from an illness.

He underwent medical tests on Monday and received the green light from doctors. "I hate to be sitting at home or being injured," said Khudobin. "That's just the worst feeling. I'm really glad to be back on the ice, espeically this time of the year."
Apr 12 - 9:46 AM

Anton Khudobin (illness) didn't practice Monday.

Khudobin exited Saturday's game after the second period due to an illness and still wasn't feeling well. He was undergoing medical tests, according to GM Don Sweeney, so Boston expects to know more on Tuesday. The Bruins called up Zane McIntyre to skate with the team in the meantime.
Apr 11 - 9:49 AM

Anton Khudobin had a rotten afternoon in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Capitals.

Khudobin stopped 21 of 24 shots during his two periods of play and left trailing 3-1 due to illness. He was replaced by Tuukka Rask. Khudobin's record drops to 7-6-1 in 16 games with the loss he was saddled with. Consider him day-to-day.
Apr 8 - 6:44 PM

Anton Khudobin will play between the pipes on Saturday.

It's Boston's season finale, so this will allow the Bruins to rest Tuukka Rask and keep Anton Khudobin as fresh as possible in case he's needed during the playoffs. Khudobin has a 2.56 GAA and .906 save percentage in 15 games this season.
Apr 7 - 2:26 PM

Anton Khudobin extended his winning streak to six games on Sunday with the 3-2 victory over Chicago.

Khudobin stopped 41 of 43 shots, including both on the penalty kill. He has been sensational over his last seven games, which includes a relief appearance where he didn't record the decision. He's now 6-0 with just 13 goals against in that seven contest span.
Apr 2 - 3:36 PM

Anton Khudobin will indeed start for the Bruins on Sunday.

That was already expected, but if you needed further confirmation then Khudobin led the Bruins out for the pregame warmups. He has a 2.60 GAA and .899 save percentage in 14 games this season.
Apr 2 - 12:07 PM

Anton Khudobin will get the nod on Sunday against the Blackhawks.

Believe it or not, he's been much better in the 2017 portion of the calendar. Khudobin boasts a 5-0 record in six games with just 11 goals against and a .920 save percentage.
Apr 1 - 6:31 PM

Anton Khudobin is apparently dealing with a minor issue on Tuesday, which prompted Zane McIntyre's call up from the minors.

That means that Tuukka Rask will be fine to start Tuesday night, as expected. Khudobin's status will probably be determined prior to puck drop.
Mar 28 - 6:16 PM

Anton Khudobin came to the Bruins' rescue Saturday night.

In a key game against the Islanders with tremendous playoff implications, Khudobin was cool under pressure stopping 19 of 20 shots in a 2-1 win. It is unclear if Tuukka Rask, who is nursing a lower-body injury will start Tuesday against the Predators, so Khudobin may get the chance to win his sixth consecutive start. Said Boston coach Bruce Cassidy of Khudobin: "I loved his performance. He’s a battler. He got swimming a couple of times, but that’s Dobby. He keeps it interesting for you. He’s a battler and he always has been. That’s what we needed tonight." Check back with us closer to Tuesday night's game to see if Khudobin will get the start.
Mar 26 - 9:29 AM

Anton Khudobin faced only 19 shots Saturday night and let in one goal as the Bruins beat the Islanders 2-1.

Khudobin has now leveled his wins and losses at 6-5-1. His last five decisions have all been wins, however, and in them he has a .924. It is time to ride his fantasy bandwagon.
Mar 25 - 11:13 PM

Anton Khudobin will play between the pipes against the Islanders on Saturday.

The Bruins would doubtlessly rather have Tuukka Rask starting in this critical contest, but it was revealed that Rask is dealing with a lower-body injury. Khudobin has a 2.73 GAA and .897 save percentage in 13 contests this season.
Mar 25 - 12:29 PM

Anton Khudobin faced only 23 shots and blocked 21 of them as the Bruins beat the Flames 5-2 Wednesday night.

Khudobin improved his average to 5-5-1 for the season, but that tells only half of the story. He got off to a glacial start with only one win in his first seven decisions. Now he is on a current, four-game winning streak, which means he is a suitable fantasy option whenever he stands in front of the net.
Mar 15 - 11:54 PM

Anton Khudobin will be in goal Wednesday night at Calgary.

The Flames have won 10 straight games, so this will be a tough task for the Bruins' backup goaltender. Khudobin has won his last three outings, including a 15-save performance against New Jersey on Mar. 4. He has a 2.76 GAA and an .895 save percentage in 11 appearances. Tuukka Rask is slated to play on Thursday versus Edmonton.
Mar 15 - 9:48 AM

Anton Khudobin faced only 17 shots Saturday night as the Bruins beat the Devils 3-2.

Khudobin’s night was evenly divided with five shots against in the first, seven in the second, and five in the third. He faced only one power-play during the night. Other than a bonus for winning, he did not rack up very many fantasy points.
