Anton Khudobin turned aside 27 shots in a 4-1 win over Los Angeles on Thursday.
Making his first start since Feb. 11, the Bruins got exactly what they needed from their backup-which has been rare this season. He really hasn't been good this year with a 3-5 record, a 2.84 GAA and .896 save percentage but this will definitely allow the Bruins more confidence when Tuukka Rask needs a break. Feb 24 - 3:17 AM

Date:

Anton Khudobin will start Thursday's game against Los Angeles.

Tuukka Rask got the nod on Wednesday in a 5-3 loss to Anaheim. Khudobin made one of his better starts this season in a 4-3 win against Vancouver on Feb. 11. He has a 2-5-1 with a 3.05 goals-against average and an .888 save percentage in 2016-17.
Feb 23 - 8:35 AM

Anton Khudobin is projected to get a start during Boston's upcoming road trip.

He could be back in the crease for his second start this month on Thursday versus Los Angeles if Tuukka Rask plays against Anaheim on Wednesday. We'll keep you posted when the Bruins' goaltending plans get confirmed.
Feb 21 - 9:40 AM

Anton Khudobin topped Ryan Miller and the Canucks 4-3 in Saturday's matinee match.

Khudobin made 29 of 32 stops, including three of four while on the penalty kill. It's his second win of the season, and the first since Dec. 1st over Carolina. For the season Khudobin is 2-5-1 with an .888 save percentage and 3.05 GAA.
Feb 11 - 5:26 PM

On Saturday it'll be Anton Khudobin in net against the Canucks for the Bruins.

It's been a disastrous season for the veteran backup in Boston this season. He has posted a 1-5-1 record with a 3.06 GAA and a .885 save percentage
Feb 11 - 12:09 PM

Anton Khudobin will suit up in one of Boston's two games this weekend.

The Bruins will play both games at one, as they entertain the Canucks on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. ET and the Canadiens on Sunday night. It's unclear which game Khudobin will play, but Bruce Cassidy already said he'll see some action. Khudobin owns a 1-5-1 record with a 3.06 goals-against-average and a .885 save percentage this season. He hasn't played in an NHL game since Dec. 23.
Feb 11 - 10:24 AM

Anton Khudobin has been called up by Boston.

Khudobin still hasn't appeared in a game with Boston since Dec. 23. He has a 1-5-1 record with a 3.06 goals-against average and an .885 save percentage at the NHL level this year.
Feb 8 - 12:55 PM

Anton Khudobin has been reassigned to the minors.

It looks like he won't get a second chance to see some NHL action after all. Boston has brought Zane McIntyre back up from the AHL's Providence Bruins. Khudobin hasn't appeared in a game with the big club since Dec. 23.
Feb 1 - 1:52 PM

Anton Khudobin appears to be getting another chance with the Boston Bruins.

Boston needs better play from the backup goalie spot. The team has 25 wins this year and number one netminder Tuukka Rask has posted 24 of them. Khudobin has had success in that role before. However, he has struggled this season. The good news for Khudobin is Zane McIntyre and Malcolm Subban aren't ready for NHL competition yet.
Jan 31 - 9:42 AM

Anton Khudobin has returned to Boston on Sunday.

The veteran netminder has seen more action in Providence than he has in Boston. Through 10 games down on the farm he's posted a 6-3-1 record with a 2.86 GAA and a .892 save percentage. He's also 1-5-1 with a 3.05 GAA and an .885 SV% with Boston.
Jan 29 - 2:26 PM

Anton Khudobin was sent back to AHL Providence on Saturday.

Strange decision given Khudobin was back up with Boston for just a day. Such as it is, Khudobin had led Providence to a 6-2-1 mark in his time down there with a 2.72 GAA and .896 save percentage. With Boston, he's 1-5-1 with a 3.05 GAA and an .885 SV%.
Jan 28 - 5:55 PM

The Boston Bruins have called up Anton Khudobin.

Given that this move corresponds with the start of the All-Star break, it's entirely possible that Khudobin was summoned to keep the Bruins' roster legal while Zane McIntyre gets some work in the AHL. Once the break is over we might see Khudobin demoted in favor of McIntyre. Then again, McIntyre has had something of a rough time as the Bruins' backup so far, so maybe they'll decide to stick with Khudobin for now.

Jan 27 - 2:40 PM

Anton Khudobin has been sent to the minors.

That's not too surprising given that Khudobin cleared waivers on Thursday. He's playing out a two-year, $2.4 million contract that runs through 2018-19, but Boston is going in a different direction given Khudobin's struggles in the backup role.

Jan 6 - 11:36 AM

Anton Khudobin is still with the Bruins as they get set to take on the Oilers.

Perhaps a move is coming, but for at least one more game Khudobin will don the spoked-B.

Jan 5 - 6:31 PM

Anton Khudobin has gone unclaimed on waivers.

That's not surprising given that Khudobin comes with a $1.2 million annual cap hit for this season and 2017-18. Khudobin has struggled in the backup role this season with a 3.06 GAA and .885 save percentage in eight games. Now that he's cleared, the Bruins are likely to send him to the minors and summon Zane McIntyre.
