Anton Khudobin continues his abysmal play in 2014-15, as he fell to 0-7-2 as the Philadelphia Flyers beat his Carolina Hurricanes 5-1 on Saturday.
The closest thing to positive spin for Khudobin is that this is only the second time he's allowed five goals. He only made 18 out of 23 saves today. Dec 13 - 3:38 PM

Anton Khudobin stopped 26 of 28 shots, but let the game-winner past him with just four minutes remaining in the third in Carolina's 2-1 loss on Thursday night.

The Caps' Eric Fehr beat Khudobin late in the third period to hand the goaltender his eighth loss in as many games this season. It's been a tough go for the 28-year-old Kazakh, who emerged as a star last year but is 0-6-2 this season with a .903 save percentage and 2,88 goals against average. Cam Ward is the Canes' starter, but has not by any means run away with the job, so Khudobin can still rectify his poor start with strong performances down the line.
Dec 4 - 10:23 PM

Anton Khudobin will start Thursday night versus Washington.

Cam Ward isn't able to play because of a lower-body injury, but it's believed to be serious. Khudobin allowed four goals on 39 shots in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Capitals on Nov. 8. He will be looking for his first win of the year.
Dec 4 - 2:35 PM

Anton Khudobin gave up three goals on 33 shots in the Hurricanes’ 3-2 loss to the Penguins on Saturday night.

Cam Ward has shown his warts as he’s gotten more time this season, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see Khudobin get more work. Khudobin allowed two in the first and one in the third. He has a 2.98 goals-against average and .900 save percentage this year.
Nov 29 - 10:08 PM

Anton Khudobin will be between the pipes Saturday when the Hurricanes host the Penguins.

Cam Ward was in the net Friday night for the 'Canes, so it's Khudobin's turn Saturday as they look to sweep the home-and-home from the Pens. Khudobin has had rough start to the year posting a 2.97 GAA and .898 save percentage in six games for Carolina so far. This could be a tough matchup for the Hurricane netminder tonight.
Nov 29 - 5:18 PM

Look for Anton Khudobin to start on Saturday against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Coach Bill Peters said that he would split the net this weekend and since Cam Ward went on Friday, expect to see Khudobin in goal. Of course, Peters could always change his mind. Khudobin has had it rough this season with a 0-4-2 record to go with a 2.96 GAA and a .898 save percentage.
Nov 29 - 7:26 AM

Anton Khudobin stopped 17 of 18 shots in Carolina's 2-0 loss to San Jose on Sunday.

San Jose's second goal was scored into an empty net. Khudobin hasn't played as many games as some people expected because Cam Ward has played better of late. The 28-year-old is still winless in six starts this season. He's now 0-4-2 with a 2.96 goals-against-average and a .898 save percentage.
Nov 16 - 8:31 PM

Anton Khudobin will get the start in goal for Carolina on Sunday.

It will be the first home start for Khudobin in Carolina as he played for the Bruins last season. He has struggled this season with a 3.34 GAA and a .892 save percentage after putting up great numbers in Boston in 2013-14 as he had a 2.30 GAA and a .926 save percentage. Adjust your lineup accordingly.
Nov 15 - 9:36 AM

Anton Khudobin made 35 saves in the Hurricanes’ 4-3 overtime loss to the Capitals on Saturday night.

Fair or not, Khudobin will need to be much better if he wants more of a share of the netminding duties. Many expected Khudobin to be the better bet between the pipes, but Cam Ward has turned back the clock this season, and should continue to see the majority of starts. Khudobin has a 3.34 goals-against average and .892 save percentage.
Nov 8 - 11:53 PM

Anton Khudobin will play between the pipes on Saturday.

Khudobin hasn't played since Oct. 24 and the Hurricanes don't want him to get rusty. Khudobin entered the season with a legitimate shot of winning the starting gig, but so far Cam Ward has been running away with that job.
Nov 8 - 11:29 AM

Anton Khudobin surrendered six goals in Edmonton on Friday night.

It wasn't pretty. A mixture of being hung out to dry and being too slow conspired to make this a very long night for Khubby and the gang. He stopped just 23-28 and allowed four even strength goals in the 6-3 loss.
Oct 25 - 2:43 AM

Anton Khudobin remains winless on the season after he was on the wrong end of a 3-1 decision against Winnipeg Tuesday night.

Khudobin's record stands at 0-2-1, but he continues to split time in goal with teammate Cam Ward since he has actually played reasonably well. His GAA of 2.64 and his save percentage of .912 are perfectly respectable, but the lack of offensive support is unlikely to change anytime soon.
Oct 21 - 11:31 PM

Anton Khudobin will play between the pipes on Tuesday.

Khudobin was been splitting the Hurricanes' starts with Cam Ward so far. Khudobin is off to a far better start though with a 2.44 GAA and .923 save percentage.
Oct 21 - 1:16 PM

Anton Khudobin turned away 33-34 shots the New York Ranger sent his way, but let up the only goal in the shootout to Rick Nash.

Khudobin was stellar from start to finish, he stopped all five shots the Rangers sent his way on the powerplay, and even made a few highlight-reel saves. He got beat just twice, the first on a flukey double-deflection and later on Rick Nash's slick double-deke shootout attempt. If Khudobin stays strong, he could, or perhaps should, overthrow Cam Ward..eventually.
Oct 16 - 11:03 PM

Anton Khudobin was the first goalie off the ice Thursday, so he's probable to start for the Hurricanes versus the New York Rangers.

He allowed four goals on 31 shots in a 4-3 loss to the Islanders last Saturday. Cam Ward has struggled in two starts this season, which leaves the door open for Khudobin to get more playing time.
