Anton Khudobin sustained an injury Monday early into Boston's practice.

He appeared to suffer a hand/wrist/lower arm injury, so the Bruins recalled Malcolm Subban on an emergency basis. His status for Tuesday's game is uncertain at this time, but we should know more after Boston's morning skate.
Oct 25 - 9:39 AM

After being perfect in the first period, Anton Khudobin let in doubles during the second and third periods as the Boston Bruins lost Saturday night’s contest 4-2 to the Montreal Canadiens.

Tuukka Rask was out for the second time this season due to soreness, leaving the net available for Khudobin to make his second start of the season. After a strong showing in the first period, Khudobin let in two goals at full strength during the second, both times with limited defense from his own team. During the third, he was shocked by a fast breakaway by Bruin’s Paul Byron while his team was on the power play.
Oct 23 - 4:05 AM

Anton Khudobin will face Montreal on Saturday night.

Khudobin has just 10 games played since the beginning of last season with 20 goals surrendered in that time, including four goals on 24 shots last week for Boston. With a loaded schedule tonight, we'd look for a more favorable matchup.
Oct 22 - 2:09 PM

Anton Khudobin let four pucks get past him in Saturday night’s 4-1 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Khudobin’s save percentage has not been very impressive in the past two seasons. He had a .900 in 34 games with the Hurricanes in 2014-15 and .909 in nine games with the Ducks last year, but Saturday night’s .833 could have been much worse. Half of Toronto’s first six shot got past with goals from Connor Brown, Mitch Marner, and James van Riemsdyk.
Oct 16 - 9:11 AM

Anton Khudobin will get the nod against the Maple Leafs on Saturday.

This will be Khudobin's first game of the season. In four career games versus Toronto, the veteran understudy is 3-1 with seven goals against in 99 combined shots.
Oct 15 - 6:45 PM

Anton Khudobin and the Bruins are very happy that the veteran backup netminder is back in Boston.

Khudobin teamed with Tuukka Rask in the 2012-13 season and the pair were very successful with Khudobin posting a 9-4-1 record with a 2.32 goals against average and .920 save percentage over 14 games. The signing of Khudobin was deemed necessary as goalie of the future Malcolm Subban is recovering from a fractured larynx. We expect Khudobin to be a solid understudy for Rask, while playing in about 15-20 games.
Jul 2 - 8:56 AM

Anton Khudobin has signed a two-year, $2.4 million deal with the Boston Bruins.

Khudobin spent the 2015-16 season with Anaheim where he spent plenty of time in the minors as John Gibson and Frederik Andersen played most of the time. Khudobin was 3-3-0 in nine games with the Ducks with a 2.69 GAA and a .909 save percentage. He will be in the mix to back up Tuukka Rask and is likely the leader heading into training camp at this time.
Jul 1 - 12:35 PM

The Anaheim Ducks have sent Anton Khudobin back to the AHL.

The 29-year-old played just nine games with the Ducks in 2015-16. He finished the year with a 3-3-0 record with a 2.69 goals-against-average and a .909 save percentage. There's already rumblings about him going back to Russia next season.
Apr 11 - 8:51 PM

Anton Khudobin made a 71-second relief appearance during Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Kings.

Khudobin replaced John Gibson while the starter received a new blade for his skate. Khudobin made both stops during the match. We suspect this will be the extent of his time on ice through the rest of the season, however.
Apr 8 - 2:01 AM

Anaheim has called up Anton Khudobin.

The Ducks needed another goaltender because Frederik Andersen is out with a concussion. Khudobin has a 2.70 GAA and .908 save percentage in eight contests with Anaheim this season. He also has a 2.40 GAA and .920 save percentage in 30 AHL contests.
Apr 1 - 1:31 PM

Anton Khudobin has been returned to AHL San Diego.

John Gibson has been sidelined with an upper-body injury, but this transaction presumably means that he's now okay. Khudobin didn't end up playing with Anaheim during his brief NHL stint, but he has a 2.70 GAA and .909 save percentage in eight games with the club from his previous time with the Ducks.
Feb 17 - 5:06 PM

In the wake of John Gibson's injury, Anton Khudobin has been summoned up to the bigs by Anaheim.

Still no word yet on the type or extent of Gibson's ailment. Khudobin meanwhile has gone 7-6-1 with AHL San Diego with a .906 save percentage and 37 goals against. We would expect Khudobin to back up Frederik Andersen while up with the Ducks.
Feb 14 - 2:33 PM

Confirming an earlier note, Anton Khudobin will be backing up John Gibson as the Ducks play the Kings on Sunday night.

Frederik Andersen has an upper body injury and is not dressing, thus Khudobin's promotion.
Jan 17 - 8:52 PM

With Frederik Andersen questionable for Sunday's match versus LA with an upper body injury, Anton Khudobin was recalled from AHL San Diego.

Well, that's a bit anti-climactic. Andersen isn't likely to dress until he's ready to play again. And Khudobin is unlikely to play until John Gibson falters or gets injured. So even if Jonathan Drouin dangling out east, there's probably nothing to speculate over here.
