Artem Anisimov netted his 16th goal of the season in Wednesday's 3-2 shootout win over Ottawa.
Anisimov has found the back of the net in two of the last three games, but he has produced a mere 23 points in 51 total appearances this season. He isn't worthy of your consideration for a possible pickup until he shows more consistency. Feb 22 - 11:02 AM

Artem Anisimov has been promoted to the Blackhawks second line with Patrick Kane and Nick Schmaltz.

Anisimov is taking Brandon Saad, who's struggled for most of the season, on that line. "He’s got the willingness, but he’s got the art, as well," head coach Joel Quenneville said. "He’s got a quick stick. His positioning is good, whether he’s tipping pucks or finding them. He’s got a real good knack about it. He’s got a quality opportunity not just playing with Kaner, but you get on the power play. There’s good ice time when you fill that niche." Anisimov has 13 goals and 19 points in 41 games this season. This "promotion" should give him a short-term fantasy boost.

Artem Anisimov (upper body) will make his return to the Blackhawks' lineup on Monday.

It will be Anisimov's first game since Dec. 28. The Blackhawks haven't finalized their lines for Monday's contest, but Anisimov did practice alongside Alex DeBrincat and Ryan Hartman on the third unit Sunday afternoon.

Artem Anisimov (upper body) was on the ice for about 10 minutes on Saturday.

It's a positive development, but Anisimov's return doesn't appear to be imminent. Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville didn't appear to like Anisimov's chances of being able to return when Chicago's bye week ends on Jan. 20.

Artem Anisimov (upper body) may not be back until after Chicago's bye week.

The Blackhawks plays four times this week before taking a break from Jan. 15-19. Anisimov has missed five games with an upper-body injury and he still could be days away from skating on his own.
Jan 8 - 11:44 AM

Artem Anisimov (upper body) is still considered to be day-to-day, according to coach Joel Quenneville.

"We'll know more when he gets on the ice," said Quenneville. "He may be closer to skating." Anisimov has been sidelined since Dec. 28 because of an upper-body injury.

Ansismov has been hot this month with seven goals and one assist in eight November contests. "My start of the season was not great," he said. "But I keep working hard and be focused and say, 'OK, November. I'm going to step up in November and forward.'" It has certainly helped that he's been back playing alongside Patrick Kane of late.

Artem Anisimov had to re-learn the center position after head coach Joel Quenneville shook up the lines and took Patrick Kane off his wing.

Kane was usually the one dominating the puck and leading the rush, a task usually assigned to the center ice position. Anisimov let Kane do his thing and focused mostly on banging in rebounds and being defensively responsible. "I feel much better because I have the puck more, and I make more plays and feel confident," Anisimov said. "I carry the puck more through the neutral zone [now] and just try to make plays and be responsible in all zones." Understandably, Anisimov's point total has dropped since Kane was removed from his wing, but the talented Russian center has still managed to pick up six points in 13 games this season playing alongside Patrick Sharp and John Hayden. Anisimov would only warrant fantasy consideration if he is placed on a line with Kane again.
