Date:

Mike Weber will become a free agent on July 1.

The defenseman was dealt from Buffalo for a third round pick at the trade deadline as the Capitals were looking for playoff depth. There is no room for him in Washington next season so look for the veteran to move on. He had a goal and five points in 45 games this season. Needless to say, he has no fantasy value.

May 4 - 12:20 PM

Mike Weber will be a healthy scratch in Game 3 against the Penguins on Monday night.

With Brooks Orpik on the sidelines because of a suspension, the Caps prefered to give Dmitry Orlov a spot in their top-six over Weber. Stanislav Galiev and Michael Latta will also watch Game 3 from the press box.
May 2 - 8:01 PM

It looks like Mike Weber will make his 2016 playoff debut on Sunday.

The 28-year-old will be taking Taylor Chorney's spot in the lineup. In Game 5, Philadelphia's game-winning goal went off Chorney and in, but that's probably not the only reason why he's coming out of the lineup. Weber is expected to be paired with Dmitry Orlov.
Apr 24 - 11:58 AM

Mike Weber, Stanislav Galiev, and Michael Latta will each be scratched in Friday's Game 5 against Philadelphia.

Unfortunately, the oft-scratched trio has yet to appear in the series. Meaning there is no value to be expected from them, at least in the short term.

Mike Weber leads the Capitals' cast of scratches for Saturday's Game 2 against Philadelphia.

Apr 16 - 6:09 PM

Mike Weber will be a healthy scratch in Game 1 against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Weber played in 10 games since being acquired from the Sabres earlier this season. He's more of a depth, stay-at-home defenseman. Stanislav Galiev, Michael Latta and Taylor Chorney will also watch the game from the press box.

Mike Weber will play Saturday against the Blues.

Weber has been effective with Washington, posting 26 PIMs, 22 blocks and 33 hits in eight games.
Apr 9 - 1:13 PM

Mike Weber, Taylor Chorney, and Stanislav Galiev will be scratched against the Islanders on Tuesday.

Weber is going on two weeks now without seeing ice with the Capitals as a healthy scratch. Though he's still the best option of this trio with 26 PIMs, 22 blocks and 33 hits in eight games.

Apr 5 - 6:36 PM

Mike Weber, Taylor Chorney, and Michael Latta will be scratched against the Avalanche on Friday.

This will mark five games as a healthy scratch for Weber, who has seen just eight games with 26 PIMs and 22 blocks with 33 hits. Tough to be those sort of rates, but he's got to play to be valuable.
Apr 1 - 7:33 PM

Mike Weber, Taylor Chorney, and Michael Latta will be scratched against the Blues on Saturday.

Of the three, only Weber has produced a modicum of fantasy value. Through eight games with Washington he's posted 26 PIMs and 22 blocks with 33 hits. Tough to beat those sort of rates.
