Date:

Chris Porter will be scratched against the Stars on Tuesday night.

Porter isn't much of a scorer, with just 32 points in 221 career NHL games. But he does have 531 hits in that span, including 117 in 48 games this season.

Chris Porter will return to the Wild's lineup and skate on the fourth line against Buffalo on Tuesday.

He'll skate to the left of Jarret Stoll and Erik Haula. Porter has put up 102 hits in 39 games this season, which is fantastic for any pool that rewards his talent.
Jan 12 - 7:24 PM

Coach Mike Yeo has elected to forego any lineup changes for Sunday's match with the Devils.

Which means that both Chris Porter and Niklas Backstrom will continue to watch from the stands. Porter however has managed to put up a nice season as a banger with 102 hits in 39 games so far.

Chris Porter and Niklas Backstrom will both be scratched from Saturday's match with Dallas.

You may be surprised to learn that Porter has had an effective season as a plug, mashing an impressive 102 hits through 39 games. Sure, that's a limited sort of value, but that's also why he's probably available for you tonight.

Chris Porter will skate on the fourth line Saturday night against Pittsburgh.

Porter, who has amassed a remarkable 85 hits through 32 games so far, will skate to the left of Jarret Stoll and Erik Haula. Which has the potential to be quite the disruptive line for Minnesota if deployed properly.

Chris Porter and Niklas Backstrom will each be scratched from Tuesday's match with Montreal.

Porter has accumulated more fantasy value of the duo and it's entirely through his massive 85 hits in 32 games this season. If you're in a league that tallies hits, you may wish to pick him up moving forward.

Chris Porter, Christian Folin and Niklas Backstrom will each be scratched from Tuesday's game with Chicago.

Of the three, only Porter has managed to accumulate a modicum of fantasy value. He's posted a whopping 62 hits in just 21 games, which is an elite level rate if you're ever looking for a weekend plug.

Chris Porter scored his first goal with the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night.

He has contributed two points in 14 games this season, while operating in a fourth-line role. Porter was claimed off waivers from Philadelphia before the start of the year.

The Minnesota Wild have claimed Chris Porter off waivers from the Philadelphia Flyers.

After the Flyers waived Porter on Wednesday, they opted to still use him in a preseason game. He scored despite his uncertain status, earning the praise of Flyers GM Ron Hextall. Porter had already been on the Wild's radar and he's friends with Zach Parise, so this might be a good fit for him.

Chris Porter scored a goal in Philadelphia's preseason game on Wednesday.

What makes that stand out is the fact that Porter was placed on waivers earlier in the day. "He’s done a good job and spent a lot of time up and down. Chris is a pro," Flyers GM Ron Hextall said. "I told him he was going on waivers and he was fine. Goes out and plays a good game. He’s a pro." Porter might not be part of the team's opening game roster, but it wouldn't be shocking to see him called up later this season.

Chris Porter has been placed on waivers.

Porter has 11 goals and 16 assists in 173 career NHL contests. Assuming he clears waivers, he will likely be sent to the minors and only called up if the Flyers have sidelined forwards.

Chris Porter has been impressive in training camp and has a good chance to make the Flyers out of training camp.

Co-incidentally Porter played for head coach Dave Hakstol during his college days at North Dakota but that has no bearing on the final roster. "He’s a guy we’ve had our eye on for a few years," GM Ron Hextall said of Porter. "I think when there’s a North Dakota guy, it can always go back to Hak, but we talked about him actually in pro meetings before Hak. We talked long and hard about depth players. He was one of the guys very high on our radar. He’s going to get no special treatment because of North Dakota. There’s no doubt about that."

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed Chris Porter to a one-year, two-way contract.

The 31-year-old scored one goal and two points in 24 games with the St. Louis Blues last season. Porter also had one assist in three Stanley Cup playoff games in 2015. He won't add much (if anything) from a fantasy perspective, so you can safely ignore him on draft day.

Chris Porter will tag in for Marcel Goc Wednesday night for Game 4 against the Wild.

Porter will play in his playoff game this season and has played in 12 playoff games in his career, all coming in the past two seasons with the Blues. In those 12 postseason games, he was able to record two goals and two assists with a plus two rating. He was skating on the wing on the Blues’ fourth line alongside Steve Ott and Ryan Reaves.
