Chris Porter, who was placed on waivers, admitted that seeing the Blues recent signing of Brenden Morrow on top of their summer addition of Maxim Lapierre was "frustrating."

The logjam those moves created ultimately pushed Porter off of the Blues roster. "It's a little discouraging, but at the same time I understand that they're veteran guys and they've played at the highest level. You understand what they're doing, but at the same time, you feel like you've done enough to show that you belong here," Porter said. It wouldn't be surprising if he was claimed on waivers.

St. Louis' "CPR" line don't have roster spots secure as training camp is close to ending.

Chris Porter, Ryan Reaves and Adam Cracknell are trying to prove that they deserve to be in the lineup on opening night. The three of them figured they had carved out a roster spots after playing well together last season, especially in the playoffs. "Cracks, Reaver and I had a great playoff, provided a lot of spark," Porter said. "They brought in some veteran guys and now our spots are no longer guaranteed, so we'll do whatever we can to solidify them and continue to prove that we belong." The Blues added Maxim Lapierre and Brenden Morrow, who could end up playing with Vladimir Sobotka on the team's new fourth line.
