Russell is still dealing with a lower-body injury he sustained last weekend. On Russell's status, Dallas coach Lindy Ruff had the following to say: "He is a possibility, but again it will come down to my decision whether I want to play him or not. We’ll see where he is after practice today, and he hasn’t practiced for a few days." We would play it safe and keep Russell on the bench.

"He's doing's just a coach's decision to hold him out again," coach Lindy Ruff said. "Probably the best thing for him is not to skate. If we needed him to play, he could play, but we're lucky enough to give him enough time." Russell wanted to play on Tuesday, but he was kept out of that game as well due to a lower-body injury.
