Mike Angelidis has re-signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning on a one-year, two-way contract.
The 30-year-old winger just came off a one-year, $650K deal in which he played just three games with Tampa. Angelidis also tied his AHL career highs across the board with 20 goals and 38 points along with 138 PIMs for Syracuse. Mike Angelidis was returned to the minors Thursday night, as Ondrej Palat appears to be returning on Friday.

Palat fully took part in Thursday's practice. Angelidis has skated in the last three games for the Lightning on emergency recall. An announcement from the team is expected to come Friday.

Mike Angelidis fought Montreal's Brandon Prust twice in Monday's game.

They dropped the gloves in the first period and after Prust body checked Tampa Bay goaltender Ben Bishop in the second, Angelidis fought him again in the third. Now, he has three fights in 10 career NHL games.

Mike Angelidis will dress once again Monday night versus the Montreal Canadiens.

With injuries to Tampa forwards Cedric Paquette and Ondrej Palat, Angelidis will dress for a third straight game. He has yet to pick up a point or a shot on goal in the two games played this season and has been playing center between veterans Brenden Morrow and J.T. Brown.

He picked up 12 goals, 33 points and 161 penalty minutes in 75 games with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch last season. Angelidis will probably play the majority of 2014-15 in the minors as well.

The Syracuse captain recorded 11 goals and 24 points in 71 AHL games this past season. He also finished second on the Crunch with 158 penalty minutes. Angelidis suited up in one game for the Lightning in 2013 and he skated in six contests the season before.

He suited up in his sixth game with the Lightning this year in Tuesday night's 2-1 win over Montreal. Angelidis recorded one shot in 5:19 of ice time.

The Lightning recalled forward Mike Angelidis from Norfolk of the AHL.

Tampa Bay recalled forward Trevor Smith on Monday knowing that Vincent Lecavalier would be out indefinitely. Perhaps wanting another body on a three-game trip that commences Thursday, the club called up Angelidis on Tuesday. Angelidis has a dozen goals in 49 games at Norfolk. His only career NHL game was Jan. 24 against Columbus -- and he scored a goal.

He played just 4:01 in the contest and found the back of the net on his only shot. Angelidis has generated 21 points and 95 penalty minutes in 38 games with AHL Norfolk.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have agreed to terms with Mike Angelidis on a one-year, two-way contract.

He skated in 80 games with Tampa's AHL affiliate in Norfolk this past season, while recording 20 goals, 38 points and 169 penalty minutes. Angelidis originally signed with Carolina as an undrafted free agent on July 21, 2006 and he is still waiting to make his NHL debut.
